We waited for almost two hours to be told that they ran out of the special. This was the worst experience I have ever dealt with a restaurant. Poorly managed, they just try to stuff as many people in their dining room and the customers end up suffering as the kitchen and wait staff is sub par. Man she was a blast to order from. She has the voice that could be in one of those children's movies. She was so comforting in reading the specials. This is a really cute cafe. When you walk in, you don't feel like you are still in Warren. It feels like you stepped into a restaurant in the UP. Service was outstanding. There was only one waitress but she was very sweet and attentive. We had the eggs benedict ($10) and it was amazing. I loved the hollandaise sauce - it was savory and light - not too acidic like some that I had in the past. I definitely will be back and plan on trying their sweet breakfasts. The Chocoalte Gallery cafe is one of Warren's hidden "gems". A girlfriend and I went in at 11:00 AM on a Saturday morning and the place was completely full except for two tables. No one greeted us upon walking in, so we proceeded to a table and sat ourselves. We were greeted within 5 minutes (again, it was very busy and I have been a server so I am very understanding) and we were given menus and were told of the specials that were written on a visually pleasing board. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, however I chose to go with a lemon ricotta pancake and a side of the potatoes and link sausages. I like to mix sweet and salty for my breakfast foods so I was pleased to learn they had smaller portions of their pancakes. The potatoes are the bomb here, and the link sauages were cooked just right. The lemon ricotta pancake was delicious as well-however I did not reieve any indication of the recipe containing ricotta based upon the texture/flavor-I was still very pleased. Overall our experience here was great. They also offer delicious desserts-along with things to take home such as Michigan shaped chocolates, theives products from young living, and chocolate pretzels, etc. I really enjoyed my time in this quaint envirorment packed with delicious food and excellent service. My only complaint is that it was very tight in there-however I am not sure if they would be able to keep that quaint vibe if it was a much larger place, and I wish someone would have told us to proceed to seat ourselves or there was a sign so that we didn't stand there like idiots waiting. The biscuits and gravy is one of the best I've had - not too salty, not too spicy, not too chunky, just right! This place has possibly THE best service I've ever experienced in my life. Decor is eh, but can be easily overlooked between the service and food. Took my son here as a treat a while back. It is everything the reviews say it is. Talk about service with a smile. A place like this takes you to another place - because there aren't really too many places around like it. My grandmother ordered the quiche with asparagus and Swiss cheese. She said that she would order it again. I ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast, but I was less excited about it. The part that killed it for me was the type of stuffing. The chef used what I believe to be a store-bought strawberry cream cheese, and it threw the dish off-kilter for me. I firmly believe the service alone would be worth the trip here. IF the food was average you would still walk out of there pleased and in a good mood. But the food isn't remotely average.
