Great ambience , huge parking lot , and we were able to Get a place to sit immediately After you sit they bring in a bottled water , that's weird for me , I have never had bottled water in a restaurant , would have expected the restaurant have a water purifier and after we place our order we were served some Papads, which was so Oily and not even dried , the oil was Literally spilling in the tissue , was not sure if they should have given us a straw to suck the oil Usually I look at the menu for a restaurant and then go eat it , here I wanted to have a thaali, and decided on South Indian veg thali and was Told they didn't have it and will not have it for the next few weeks Tried cashew pokora ,was thinking that this would be a pakoda but it was good and chutneys were amazing Wife ordered dosa , portion size is pretty good , their Sambar was out of the world , Kudos to that One piece of advice , don't order Kothu parotta unless you have a day to take care of it Hopefully others have a better experience, not us in the food department read more

We went for the banana leaf Thali. It started out with a few dishes on the plate - potato, beetroot, a medium vada, and a mixed vegetable and as the hour progressed different people came along with more items. There was no information as to what dishes to expect so you couldn't plan whether to take more of something, or less. Initially they served fried fish and a chicken appetizer. Then biryani and later rice. I asked if any dal, etc was coming to eat with the rice but the server said no. We are the medu vada plain. Then much later they brought out some sambhar, rasam and other gravies but I did not have rice. Also there was no bowl for the rasam :/ They served only sambhar and rasam but the serving vessel seemed to have other items. When asked what they were the server went away without answering. Then another came along who named the dishes to the person seated next to us. Someone at our table asked for a missing potato vegetable but did not get any. We asked for cutlery but were told like children that we should use our hands. Not everyone is comfortable doing that. So they got us some. Overall the taste was more like something you make in a jiffy on a weekday rather than an expertly cooked, well flavoured meal (nothing wrong with home cooking. Several home chefs are extraordinary). The general chaos of the whole arrangement means you may either waste a lot or eat something you'd rather pass on for another item. Flavour wise it's not even worth a one time visit. read more

AMAZING FOOD! Service needs to be worked on, however I'll chalk that up to current Covid times. The saving grace was I had forgotten my leftovers and they saved them for me! THAT erased any mis-steps during our meal. If they are able to fine tune the service e during the meal - this place will thrive! Now for the food: Chicken 65 - a good portion of well condimented, perfectly fried, bite-sized nuggets - spice level of high was perfect (I love hot foods though). Vegetable Samosa very tasty - perfectly fried with the cilantro and tamarind chutneys. Aloo Gobi Masala - very good - arguably the best version I've had of the dish so far (and I have been to MANY Indian restaurants. Last, but by no means least - Bindi Masala - okra, onions, tomato and yes spices - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Best Indian dish I've ever had - yes it was THAT good. My family and I went there a couple of years ago and were seated right away. Restaurant was busy which was a good sign. We ordered apps and entrees. Apps came out and were very good. Entrees never came out. Tables that had been seated way after us were eating their entrees and we were not. Asked waiter about our food and he said our order was coming out soon. This went on for over an hour. Finally we were told that the kitchen had made a mistake and our orders would be out in a couple of minutes. After a great day with friends and family at the local winery, we all decided on Indian food. Thankfully all in attendance had no issues with spicy dishes. The restaurant occupies the location of a former Italian restaurant. The interior is nicely decorated and clean. The restaurant followed Covid procedures and served people outdoors. We were a group of 9 and were directed to the patio area. The patio area was spacious enough to allow our group to sit comfortably. The drone of highway 33 however and the rushing car traffic was somewhat of an annoyance. We were given water bottles and papadum to snack on whole we decide on our orders. Just like the other reviews I though it a little strange that water was served in this fashion. The water tasted a bit strange however and I could not exactly pinpoint the flavor. I agree with the other reviewers and suggest a water purifier and serve water in glasses at the tables. The papadum was a bit oily but was served warm. The waitress was friendly but failed to inform us of any specials or suggested items on the menu. That being said we ordered, -Tandoori shrimp-mild -chicken biryani rice -mild -butter roti -garlic naan -channa masala-mild -lamb rogan -chicken tikka masala-mild -channa masala-mild -butter chicken-mild -butter chicken-mild All items were served together. The dishes were all warm. The spice level was reasonable and all can be defined as mild. The biryani rice however seemed spicier than the requested mild. The dishes all had great flavor, something that I found odd since many previous reviews stated they found the food lacked flavor. For desert we ordered gulab jamun, great desert to calm our pallets after a spicy meal. All in all we were satisfied with our meal. The bill for 9 was reasonable and the service although occasionally lacking was sufficient. If your looking for South Indian cuisine and looking for outdoor seating this is a good place. On an added note however, we did notice that our waitress was wearing a face mask but the hostess who visited our table and served us food as well was not wearing a mask. The food and service is excellent. The wait time is a bit longer, as all the food is prepared fresh, but it is well worth the wait. The papadams are light and crisp. The nan is warm and fresh. I always order the Chilli Chicken appetizer, either Chicken Tikka Masala (a bit sweet for my taste, but my mom loved it) or the Lamb Vindaloo (tender chunks of lamb in a flavorful spicy sauce) and Garlic Nan. Excellent food. Great customer service. I ordered on a Friday night through Grubhub. The delivery took longer than expected and I was beyond hungry, but then the bell rang and there was my meal, packaged professionally, and piping hot. I dug in to my Chicken Korma and Bhindi Marsala and was delighted by the authentic, a deep flavors. The chicken was tender, the rice cooked to perfection. Halfway through my meal I received a phone call from the owner apologizing for the delay. They generously made up for the delivery mixup. Why aren't all businesspeople this savvy? They didn't know I'm an Elite Yelper and prodigious reviewer, but they not only earned my business back, but a great review as well. So glad this gem of a restaurant opened in Millstone. The chicken curry, tikka masala, aloo gobi masala, dosa, and garlic naan were impeccably seasoned, fresh, and tasty. One of my kids loves Indian and the other does not. Good news-the menu offers Indo-Chinese food so while one ate his dosa, the other had shrimp fried rice. As an individual who is accustomed to eating home-made Indian cuisine, if one didn't know better, you'd think there were Indian grandmothers in the kitchen preparing the food with love and care. As for service, the staff was extremely attentive and refilled our glasses without us asking! Also, while waiting for our food, we were provided with crunchy Indian chips at no cost . The decor of the restaurant was an added plus with its calming lighting and decor. Negatives: food took slightly longer than I'd like and the waiter started cleaning off our table while we were waiting to pay the bill even though there were plenty of tables available for other patrons and there was really no rush. The Chozhas is easily the best Indian restaurant in New Jersey and maybe even the United States. I tried their Paneer Tikka Masala and Gobi Manchurian dishes which were cooked to perfection.
