We recently spent an evening at The Circular in Hershey and we were significantly underwhelmed. While many love The Circular, we struggle to understand why. Whimsical as it may be, the service, specifically management, and food do not match the cost. Our servers were generally very good. However, one of the male runners had black fingernail polish that looked like it was applied with an El Marko magic marker. At this level of dining, servers and runners should be sharp and clean, as should their hands that are presenting dishes to guests. As a flagship restaurant of the Hershey Hotel, one would think that the experience would have a Hershey Chocolate theme. This is not the case and is a failing of management. So many lost opportunities here. Our interaction with the manager on the floor was very disappointing. Not a smile to be had from the manager. Just barking orders to staff and a miserable countenance. This transfers to guests and can ruin a dining experience. Now on to the food. It was mid. Every dish was just mid, or less. The Steak Tartare was the worst we've had. The red onion marmalade made the meat taste like metal, making it almost inedible. The baby gem caesar salad was dry and boring and the lobster bisque was, frankly, gross. More could be said about the entrees, but out of respect for this long-established restaurant, we'll end this one here. No plans to return.

We've been here three times, once for their Bunch and then dinner. It is located inside the hotel Hershey and the circular room is in fact "half" circular with wonderful views of the estate. The architecture in the building leading to the restaurant is fantastic. The first visit the food and service was great. The brunch with a chocolate themed with a little bit more energy. The ambiance is good. However, food quality and presentation on the last visit was par for the course.Great staff and host!

My family is very familiar with Hershey but we hadn't yet been to the Circular. We heard great things so after my cousin graduated from college we went here for dinner as a family. The restaurant and hotel is beautiful! Very classy place and friendly staff. The food was also amazing! I got the scallops, filet mignon, and lemon blueberry dessert. I have a gluten allergy and they took that very seriously and even made sure they took off a fried piece on the scallops to avoid cross contamination. Everything was so good and I'd come back for the food for sure. The only downside was the wait. We waited forever for everything. Even drinks. They also forgot a few things like my family's bread and some drinks. Even though it was a Friday night they weren't that busy so it was a bit frustrating. At least the food was worth the wait!

    Made to order omelette

The morning breakfast buffet had some decent items. The made to order omelette was terrible - picture included below. Our waitress asked for our drink order but never brought them over. Not the best experience. A lot of the food needed to be refilled too.

Food, Services & Ambiance were spectacular. Manny, our server did a great job. My pan seared scallops and king salmon was cooked perfectly. Full of flavor and side vegetables were perfectly cooked not too soft, just perfect. Filet mignon could be cut with a butter knife. Chocolate for two dessert topped off a great meal.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. The service was fantastic and so was the ambiance. The food was just a little overpriced for the serving size in my opinion. The salted caramels however were absolutely delicious!

Fancy dinner at the hotel. Had a great steak and a divine dirty martini. The caramel truffles was a nice treat. We should have saved room for the chocolate martinis! Beautiful dinner to cap off a relaxing spa weekend.

What kind of food items are served during Sunday Brunch? Is prime rib served every Sunday? What about the oysters & tuna poke?

Yes prime rib, shrimp, oysters, not sure on tuna poke but they do have some raw fish. It's def worth a try if you in Hershey.

This is fantastic both with or without the crostini bread. The menu did say truffle and hot honey glaze however, I only tasted the traditional honey flavor. No heat or truffle flavors. Crab cake - single 8/10 Crab cake was good. I liked the panko crust on it. It was just a hair dry, so it really needed a sauce. However the whole grain mustard "sauce" that it came with was actually just the mustard, it was not a sauce at all- which does not pair well with the crab cake at all in my opinion- It really needed a Remoulade or aioli, just something more on the creamier side rather than straight mustard. The risotto was cooked perfectly for me, it was hard to tell what the flavor was though without reading the menu (it was lemon Parmesan). I didn't understand how the risotto got its reddish-orange color though since neither lemon or Parmesan are that color. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and was pretty good. Center cut Filet 9/10 Ordered medium, it was cooked perfectly with a warm pink center. The mashed potatoes were super dry, they needed cream or butter or something to make them better and more flavorful. The red wine Demi was pretty good, you could definitely taste the wine and it kinda also tastes like mushrooms in a way. Asparagus again, was cooked perfect. Vanilla bean Crème brûlée 9/10 The custard was amazing- definitely a 10/10. The sugar on top is what brought me down a point because it was just so thick, it really overpowered the custard a little bit, so a thinner caramelized sugar layer would have been perfect. Chocolate Lava cake 8/10 Yummy chocolate cake with a molten lava center, paired perfectly with vanilla ice cream. The "lava" in the center though was not very much, and definitely needed a little more.

Even on a weeknight, the restaurant was adequately packed, so I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to dine here. A few things to know before you go: Popular restaurant that can be quite busy, even during the work week. Reservations are a good idea, especially during dinner hours. There is a small parking lot surrounding the restaurant, as well as street parking. Both were full when I arrived. There is a free parking garage across the street behind the storefronts, which ended up being the easiest parking option. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Sangria, and it was excellent. Refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet, it paired nicely with dinner and was one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the: Chicken Marsala Sautéed chicken breast with mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce served over house-made linguini or mashed potatoes & asparagus. Unfortunately, this dish didn't quite meet my expectations. The Marsala sauce itself was decent, but by the time the meal arrived, the linguini was somewhat cold. As a result, the noodles had begun to harden and stick together, which affected the overall experience. Considering the price point, I didn't feel the dish offered good value, and it's not something I would order again. That said, the restaurant's popularity, lively atmosphere, and excellent sangria make me interested in returning. I'd be curious to try some of the other menu offerings on a future visit, as there were several dishes that looked appealing. Overall, while my entrée was disappointing, the atmosphere and drink selection were enough that I'd be willing to give Chocolate Avenue Grill another chance.

This is one you can count on for service and friendliness with a menu and buffet that will, for sure, satisfy any hunger craving you might have. A host or hostess out front will seat you and we never waited more than a minute. Servers will come immediately to fill a drink order and then the options begin. At breakfast, if you are famished, you can choose a buffet that will cure you of your affliction- all sorts of things you would normally expect- scrambled eggs, meat and toast and granola and cereal- you get the picture. You can also ask your server for a specialty omelette of your choosing or eggs made a certain way. Or choose to eat from a breakfast lunch or dinner menu. We ate in the morning twice and in the evening twice as well and always loved our meals. The buffet for kids is about $20 and for adults about $10 more. If your little one is a small appetite critter, consider eating of the menu. Prices for menu options were more that reasonable and portions matched even my humongous appetite. Tables and booths throughout can handle any sized party so if you're traveling with family and friends, they will almost assuredly be able accommodate you. Good value for food and service.

We stopped in after checking out the shopping outlets in the area. We did make reservations prior to dining to make sure we had a table. Parking is a bit of a hassle but that's no fault of the restaurant. Fire and grain is located inside the Hershey lodge. Mostly all parking spots are taken up by the hotel guests so it's a bit tricky to find open parking. We had a party of 4 dining that night. Very friendly staff , especially when we had questions about the menu. We chose to start off with the burrata appetizer. We thought it would be a nice size to split with 4 but it turned out to be quite small. Only 1 slice of bread , small drizzle of balsamic and just 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and maybe a half handful of arugula. Maybe make this a bit larger of a portion as a starter. For entree I chose the pappardelle bolognese - house made fresh pasta , Italian sausage and short rib ragu with ricotta cheese. Needed a bit more of the sausage and short rib but still very good. My wife had the shrimp Alfredo. Very tasty as well with plenty of shrimp and another delight with the house made pasta which takes it to another level. A surprise was that the tails were already removed from the shrimp to make it easier to enjoy. For dessert we'd share the chocolate peanut buttter mousse cake! So rich but so delicious! Another great treat! Be sure to stop in and check this place out if you're in town visiting Hershey,PA.
