It blew him away. First off, the service is phenomenal every single time. The staff here is on another level, attentive without hovering, endlessly professional, and somehow always two steps ahead of you. Drinks never hit empty, plates disappear before you even notice you're done, and they're constantly checking in with offerings. It feels luxe in the best, least-stuffy way. Now let's talk food... because wow. This is an upscale buffet-style brunch and absolutely everything was delicious. There were maybe one or two things that weren't our favorites, but nothing was poorly prepared or lacking. Highlights? * Prime rib - melt-in-your-mouth perfection. My #1. * Smoked salmon, plus oysters, clams, crab super fresh and flavorful. * Potstickers, lamb, salmon, beef bourguignon seriously, you can eat around the world in one room. * Desserts - tiny, dangerous, decadent little masterpieces. It's definitely on the pricier side... about $62 per person, so our total came to around $160 with tip for two. But truthfully? For the service, the quality, the variety, and the whole elevated experience, it's something I love to do every once in a while. A special-occasion splurge that actually feels worth it. A heads-up for planners: Brunch only runs on Sundays in December, and reservations go FAST. We called a day or two after it was announced and snagged one of the last spots for the entire month. Located inside the Hershey Hotel, this spot is a must-visit if you're in Pennsylvania for Hershey. The décor reflects the hotel's rich history, adding to the charm. We stopped in for drinks and sat at the bar, while most people around us were enjoying the brunch. The spread looked incredible, but we learned that during brunch hours, they don't offer a regular menu--so no small snacks like peanuts or crackers were available. We recently spent an evening at The Circular in Hershey and we were significantly underwhelmed. While many love The Circular, we struggle to understand why. Whimsical as it may be, the service, specifically management, and food do not match the cost. Our servers were generally very good. However, one of the male runners had black fingernail polish that looked like it was applied with an El Marko magic marker. At this level of dining, servers and runners should be sharp and clean, as should their hands that are presenting dishes to guests. As a flagship restaurant of the Hershey Hotel, one would think that the experience would have a Hershey Chocolate theme. This is not the case and is a failing of management. So many lost opportunities here. Our interaction with the manager on the floor was very disappointing. Not a smile to be had from the manager. Just barking orders to staff and a miserable countenance. This transfers to guests and can ruin a dining experience. Now on to the food. It was mid. Every dish was just mid, or less. The Steak Tartare was the worst we've had. The red onion marmalade made the meat taste like metal, making it almost inedible. The baby gem caesar salad was dry and boring and the lobster bisque was, frankly, gross. More could be said about the entrees, but out of respect for this long-established restaurant, we'll end this one here. No plans to return. read more

Our party of two sat at the bar for dinner on a Saturday night while staying at the Hotel Hershey. The environment was somewhat upscale with prices that reflected it, but the bar was more relaxed. I ordered a burger that was very good and came with a complimentary amuse bouch from the chef. Visited for dinner and it was a beautiful evening. The dining room and views are lovely. Our server was wonderful! I had a filet with vegetables which I enjoyed. Not the best steak that I have ever had but certainly good. I also had a cheese plate app which I enjoyed, particularly because it offered local cheese from the region. Steak tartar was excellent and we enjoyed the pork belly app. Cocktails are excellent. One member of my party had the duck which was wonderful-4.5 stars, and the other had the ribeye which was a solid 5 stars. Dessert is amazing but to be expected given we are in Hershey! My girlfriend and I had looked forward for dinner at the Circular after friends of ours raved about it. First of all guidance from the entry the Hotel to the restaurant is confusing. The elevator was shoddy even though one floor up. We had reservations at 5pm. Guess what the restaurant doesn't open until 5pm. The Maitre D, said we open at 5pm, they didn't open until 5:05pm. We were the first couple. Restaurant entirely empty. the wait staff ranged from being snotty to neck tattoos to nose piercings and mouth piercings. the appetizer stated Lobster roll, it almost zero lobster and some shrimp mousse. Lobster bisque was mushroom soup with a itty bee piece of lobster. The entree Weygu steak was 2 little slices of beef that looked liked thick slices of roast beef. Bill was over 200 plus tip. Compared to Capital Grille in Maryland, The Circular was less than a 1 in food, food quantity, service and price. For a restaurant inside the Hershey hotel, I am surprised Milton Hershey didn't turn over in his grave that the Circular can't invest in full Lobsters and real Steaks.. read more

We've been here three times, once for their Bunch and then dinner. It is located inside the hotel Hershey and the circular room is in fact "half" circular with wonderful views of the estate. The architecture in the building leading to the restaurant is fantastic. The first visit the food and service was great. The brunch with a chocolate themed with a little bit more energy. My family is very familiar with Hershey but we hadn't yet been to the Circular. We heard great things so after my cousin graduated from college we went here for dinner as a family. The restaurant and hotel is beautiful! Very classy place and friendly staff. The food was also amazing! I got the scallops, filet mignon, and lemon blueberry dessert. I have a gluten allergy and they took that very seriously and even made sure they took off a fried piece on the scallops to avoid cross contamination. Everything was so good and I'd come back for the food for sure. The only downside was the wait. We waited forever for everything. Even drinks. They also forgot a few things like my family's bread and some drinks. Even though it was a Friday night they weren't that busy so it was a bit frustrating. In this case, i was a guest at the hotel so just woke up and went straight to breakfast! The service provided was top notch and professional. The service was also very well done and was a pleasure to watch. The ambiance was so much more interesting than other venues I've experienced. The circular bar and dining room gives everyone an overall view of the restaurant, the bar and the people. And if you are lucky enough to have a window seat you can overlook the grounds of the hotel with the mountains in the distance. Dinner: We did the bread service and the cheese plate for our group of 7. Two cheese plates were the right amount- and they were presented in a lovely way. The honeycomb was the incredible star against all the flavor of the different cheeses. We also added a gem lettuce caesar which I think was one of the best caesars any of us have had. Truly delicious (but, we also had had some wine by then!). For entrees - I split the burger and the salmon with a girlfriend, and we both loved both options. The girls that opted for filet said it was perfectly cooked, and one of the girls that ordered the butternut squash ravioli raved about them. We were there for a birthday, so they brought some caramels and a chocolate covered strawberry to celebrate the occasion - which was a lovely touch. It's a bit pricey but it's a gorgeous location and fantastic service. Breakfast: Because we stayed in the hotel, we also ended up having breakfast here the next morning. Our server was very attentive and was always refilling our coffee. It is a buffet breakfast with a savory and sweet display. They also had an omelette station - the chef there was very sweet but it took a very long time and I'm glad we were there before a line formed! My husband and I dined here for breakfast twice during our stay at the Hotel Hershey. We were seated right away and a wonderful waitress named Rose attended to all our needs. Breakfast is served buffet style here. There are various food stations set up in the restaurant and it is worth the time to check out what each station has to offer. They have two made to order omelet stations along with a fruit bar in the middle including hard boiled eggs. Get applewood smoked bacon, sausages, breakfast potatoes and even mini quiches down on one side. They also have small waffles, pancakes, French toast with all the trimmings including mini chocolate pieces. Don't forget to try a cheese filled blintz-so good!! Course in the center it is hard to pass up on chocolate bread pudding. Cereal is in abundance along with regular oatmeal. Down on the floor of the restaurant you will find various pastries such as chocolate muffins, croissants, bagels, breads. Everything is so tempting- you can eat them all! Enjoy unlimited refills on coffee, tea, and breakfast juices all for one price. As in most buffets they ask you to take a clean plate when you return to a station. Our waitress saw to it that our drinks were always filled and gave us clean utensils throughout our meal. The Circular sits to the back of the main hotel lobby and was influenced by Milton Hershey himself who wanted his dinner guests to enjoy the benefits of eating at a round table. The restaurant looks out onto the back gardens with the impressive HH shaped bushes. It's definitely a pricey meal but when quality matches the cost, it's usually not an issue with me. What a phenomenal dining experience we had this weekend at The Circular. Every course was exquisite...and our party sampled several offerings from the menu in each. The quality of the food was matched by the unique and artistic presentation of the gourmet food, this place really has something very special going on in their kitchen! The Atlantic Salmon literally melted in my mouth and the tastes of Braised Lamb and the Truffle Mousseline Stuffed Chicken from my companions plates were equally incredible..only wish we had longer to visit to indulge ourselves again. The place had amazing views inside and out. It's a great place for a fancy dinner or a proposal. The menu is extremely small but changes so I recommend checking prior to reserving a table. The fire alarm when off for a bit while we were there from a "kid pulling on it" but there was no kids in sight. I'm sure it's just what they are trained to say and they made sure to joke around with everyone to ensure no one was really unhappy. Overall, the food was amazing. The burger is not pictured but had steak on top which was nice and tender. The fries tasted like they'd been fried in duck fat. This was such a fun and elegant experience. The circular is a great spot to go on a fancy date night, treat clients, have a nice celebrating with family, etc. Definitely on the fanicer side, so come dressed the part (I would say at least collared shirt for guys, and a sports coat wouldn't be overdressed.) All of the food was great! Like I said before - super elegant, fine dining experience. I had their pork & potatoes dish, which came with orange bacon persillade, cabbage, and "applesauce." It was truly cooked to perfection, and tasted amazing, but my only two knocks would be that it was hard to capture all of these flavors on the dish together. The different ingredients were either round or in a sauce form, so gathering it all for one unified bite. The other thing is that, it was small portions - it definitely could do if you get a couple of apps and a dessert, but I would have liked more of a serving. What a breathtaking view and a clever design! A round restaurant so that every table has a nice view! Detailed stained glass windows, dimly lit sconces and hand painted ivy borders added to the charm of this lovely setting. Surrounded by gorgeous mountains, this elegant establishment offered a humongous breakfast buffet. It was a bit pricey and because we weren't super hungry, we opted to order off the menu. Although we weren't staying at the Hershey Hotel, we were graciously welcomed in by the hostess, although she initially did give us the once over. The maître d' swooped in and led us to a well appointed table. Our server, Jen, then came to take our requests. We chose a short stack of blueberry pancakes (frankly they fell a little "short" on taste and texture) which were very thin and the batter was bland. The eggs and hash browns were average. My hubby had a 3 egg omelette with spinach , mushrooms and cheese and he said it was delicious! The tea service was primo, the coffee was good and strong, and the prices were quite fair for breakfast/brunch options. I loved the butter presentation and all the mini condiments. For such an awesome ambiance, I think they could step up the food quality and it would really take this already classy restaurant to a higher level of excellence! So the property use to be a 5 star for this area .... They got rid of the grass code and it reflects... you can ware hats and ripped jeans now... used to have to wear a jacket. They also got rid of the white table cloth service .... That's a real real shame... it was that kind of place. Some of the original staff is still there ( and that's great ) but with lowering the overall mood to casual it brings in younger and less experienced servers. I hate writing this, but we just went a couple of nights ago, and it was not a good experience. It is summer concert season, we know, but the drive up to the hotel was closed. No signs on how to detour. One parking attendant told us a way to go, but that was also blocked off. It took us 10 additional minutes to wind up at the back of the hotel. The previous times we came, the service and food was excellent. This was a disappointment... we ordered soup and salad for the appetizer, and then waited an hour for two "medium rare steaks". It was not overly busy but we weren't in a rush so we waited. The waiter was nice but said he messed up, and thank you for our patience. Nothing else. Our medium rare filets came out medium well. For $52, to not eat it the way we ordered it is seriously disappointing, but we did not want to wait any longer considering we'd just waited an hour for these steaks. We told the waiter our steaks were so-so, and he said great and walked away, so he really didn't care because it was obvious they were really overcooked. It's a shame because the steaks were INCREDIBLE last time, and our server Joseph was amazing! This time, not so much, and we will no longer be spending our money there. read more

i wasn't kidding when i said this may have been my favorite restaurant of 2023. everything from the service, interior, and food was incredible. we made a reservation so we were seated fairly promptly, and i liked that we had a good amount of space separating us from others in the restaurant. our server was also great, and offered amazing recommendations on what to get. we came in knowing what we wanted off the menu but our server helped us choose the halibut. as for the food, i can't even begin to tell you how GOOD the lobster toast and duck confit salad were. highly highly recommend getting them, you won't be disappointed. i simply don't get how the mix all these flavors in together to get something SO GOOD. the halibut came w some gnocchi which tasted just so fresh and in the lightest sauce. my bf's sister was raving about the chocolate soufflé for dessert so i simply had to get that. it was good but i'm not sure it was fully worth the hype but i def still enjoyed it. we also got chocolate salted caramels to end our dinner. everything from beg to end was done perfectly and i couldn't have asked for a better experience read more

The quality has not gone down but the serving sizes have. Prices are up everywhere across the board but when you reduce provided product, it makes an impact overall. I was charged 70 dollars for steak and received 3, yes 3 slices of steak alongside dismal sides. Why? The Circular is about the experience, I get it. I was there with my husband and our best friends on New Years Eve to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was their treat so I feel really bad that the food did not live up to the hype. We had reservations for a table along the windows. We all dressed up and were excited to dine at such a well-regarded restaurant. Our server introduced himself to us and our first impression was that he was terrified of us. He was very young and seemed cowed and intimidated all night. We are not scary people, I swear. There was a special menu for the holiday, including a number of items that are not regularly served here. Three of us ordered the Wagyu Beef Surf and Turf and one person in our party ordered their Shrimp and Scallops entrée, which is a regular offering. We were first brought a salmon ceviche amuse bouche. I generally do not like the texture of raw fish- and this was indeed raw, not "cooked" in acid based on the translucency of the fish- but I ate it, figuring that at a fine dining establishment one should take advantage and be more adventurous that one would usually be. While it wasn't awful, I didn't particularly love it. It was not something I would order. We did order a shrimp appetizer that is not on the current menu which we shared among the four of us and really enjoyed. When the entrees were brought to the table I think we were all slightly taken aback by the appearance of the steak. While artfully plated, even though we all ordered the steak medium rare, it was translucent red and appeared very raw. It also had the wet texture of undercooked beef. It was like it had been grilled as a larger roast, attaining only the slightest browning along the sides of the round steak. It was plated with a smear of lumpily mashed peas, two unpeeled over-roasted carrots, some tiny dribbles of beurre blanc, and what the menu described as half a lobster tail poached in butter. This entrée was $75. I kept my undercooked steak and ate it. I also believe that my lobster was underdone, judging by the translucency of the meat and the texture. My tablemates sent their steaks back and sat without food while both I and my friend with the shrimp ate. It took an extraordinary amount of time and when the steaks were returned to our table, they appeared to have been tossed into the deep fryer. The three of us also ordered side dishes, and were very glad we did. One ordered the polenta and was disappointed to receive a large dish of what was essentially grits. She was expecting something more along the lines of slices of corn meal that were then browned. I ordered mushrooms and was pleased with the variety and flavor of the large dish. The volume provided was overwhelming when compared to the portion size of my main entrée. I believe my husband ordered mashed potatoes and enjoyed them. The portion was also large when compared to the entrée. My friend's shrimp and scallops were amazing. We all sampled from his plate. Three of us had dessert. My husband ordered something that arrived as a small greenish pyramid with apples and a lace cookie. It was good, if a little fussy in appearance. I ordered the Chocolate and Cherries dessert. When it arrived, it was the beautiful glossy ball of chocolate. Our server poured a warm, white sauce over it which made the globe melt, revealing ice cream and fruit inside. It was delicious, beautiful and entertaining. To finish the meal, my friend received two chocolate covered strawberries on a plate which had Happy Birthday written on it and we all had a salted caramel piece. The Circular is a Hershey staple. It was founded and designed by Milton Hershey years ago and still exists today! The restaurant is in the shape of a circle so nobody is in a corner by themselves, which was something Hershey designed. Even more amazing is that the original stain glass from the Circle Dining Room still is used. In the past The Circular required sport-jackets, but it is now just business casual. I came in and was greeted by a friendly hostess and manager who took my coat. After that, we were seated in a nice spot that was right by the window. While it was dark out, it did give us a nice view of the beautiful grounds of the Hotel Hershey. Eventually, Joseph our waiter came over. He was very kind and professional. He first told us about the specials the bar was serving that night including a chocolate martini. I decided to try the pomegranate drink from the bar while the others in the party had a nice bottle of Saratoga sparkling water. The bread he dropped off was amazing. It was soft and full of flavor. I started off with the lobster bisque soup. It came out fairly fast and the hot soup was poured into the bowl right at my table. The lobster had a very nice texture and a beautiful, unique shellfish taste. After that, I had the lamb loin, high was absolutely delicious. The lamb was nice as it was tender and moist. The delicious roasted vegetables and potatoes went perfectly with the lamb. The red wine demi sauce was also superb and went perfect with the lamb. Finally, I got the chocolate soufflé for a dessert. While it did take 15 minutes to come out, I was fine with it as it was freshly made in house. It came out steaming hot and Joseph presented it by pouring some cream inside of it to add flavor! It was also beautifully plated with a side of ice Altogether, the Circular is just fantastic. First the good. t was really just ok from service atmosphere, etc. big beautiful blank walled room. so much opportunity with the big ceiling to create atmosphere but notging. Big centerpiexe at center of room on bar still had xmas decor on it. common management ist March already. Second the bad. The food was terrible. I ordered the halibut. Came out raw so had to send it back.My wife ordered the Wagu Rib Eye. We were starving so we ate it. IT WASN'T WAGU. TASTED LIKE USDA CHOISE. Tough, chewy and no flavor. Bottom Line: A historic restaurant with charming stained glass and sweeping views. My husband and I enjoyed an early morning Sunday breakfast at Circular. We debated having dinner there the night before but I'm glad we held out for breakfast as we were able to enjoy the sun shining through the stained glass window and the views of the hotel property. Enjoying the experience of the historic dining room and gazing out the window while sipping coffee was definitely the highlight. As for the food, it was good but not extraordinary. I enjoyed my custom made omelette the most as well as a warm cinnamon bun. Some of the food was cold, like the French toast, and I suspect that is because the heating element wasn't turned on and no one realized it. Other items on the breakfast menu included fruit, cereal, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage and juice. For the overall experience, the price for breakfast seemed fair. read more

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Circular. The service was attentive and friendly and not rushed at all. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the tables were well spaced apart. We loved the lobster toast appetizer. My husband had the lamb entree and enjoyed it. I had the chicken breast. It was moist and flavorful (sometimes hard to accomplish with chicken breast!). We shared the chocolate tasting for 2 dessert. They have a breakfast buffet on Saturdays that may be worth the high price because it's AYCE and made my trained chefs. However, don't come here for anything else unless you have money and enjoy living the high life, then this is the place for you any day of the week. The menu for dinner is incredibly small and extremely pricey. I ordered a lobster toast and a lobster bisque and it came out to about $60. The lobster toast came with one tiny cracker and a couple of lobster lumps on it, plated on a massive dish as if they wanted to highlight how little food you're getting. It was the same with the lobster bisque, except there was only 1 lump of lobster and the rest was broth. The bisque had too much sherry in it as it tasted like residul throw up that lingers in your mouth after you've thrown up. Both times that I've been here for both breakfast and dinner, however, I've felt out of place. Not just because you're made to feel like you're among the elite, but also because I'm a minority. There was an extreme lack of diversity and I'd never felt so out of place as I did there in that environment. All in all, if you're gonna come here, go for the breakfast buffet, otherwise go elsewhere unless you like spending a lot of money and leaving hungry. read more

The food is fantastic however the prices are overpriced for what you get. The salmon melted in your mouth. The lobster toast was amazing. The dessert selection was all ice cream based for the most part and unable to be taken home, but my server mentioned I could get peanut butter pie even tho it was not on the menu. read more
