Had an amazing experience here last weekend. I've had Shark boy bookmarked for quite some time and I'm really glad I finally got to try this place. The staff was so friendly and informed on their menu. My friend has an MSG allergy and they looked through all the ingredients to make sure she can have each dish/sauce. Creamy, on the thinner side in terms of consistency, yet full of chunky potatoes and chewy clams. I enjoyed this so much with the salty crackers especially on a cold chilly day. Chips (french fries) - These were decent- crispy lightly seasoned. They don't taste homemade or extraordinary but it surely satisfies that french fry craving. Update: it has been three years since my last visit. Different name now - it used to be Golden Catch - wait! It still states the old name in front to the restaurant. Hmmm...!but the same great taste survives, same owner working, too, and I am happy that he has a helper, too! I am so happy to see so many happy people inside, as opposed to just a couple of parties when I first reviewed this place. Obviously, it has become well-established, and a hit in the downtown San Jose area. The only drawbacks is due to its popularity - longer wait times, crowded restaurant, noisier atmosphere, and lack of parking. The parking is limited and the restaurant is in the back. The gentleman was very nice and friendly taking my order. I ordered fish n chips. The breaded part of the fish was tasty however the fish to me seemed over cooked. Instead of the fish being flaky when taking a bite it was more mushy. The fries were good and the lemonade very good. Not sure if I would be back, maybe to taste another item to enjoy. read more
