I can't say enough about how good the food was or how great the service was! We were greeted and seated right around 4:30. We ordered our drinks and since we already knew we wanted the all you can get crab legs, which is the Monday special, we didn't even look at the menu. We barely had time for a sip of our drinks before our food arrived. And that was OK! Food was hot and delicious. We finished our first plate of crab legs and got two more before we were done. I'm extremely picky and I really enjoyed this restaurant. We came at 6 with a party of 10 and waited over an hour. I really wish you could make reservations because it would make the experience so much better. While waiting we sat at the bar and enjoyed beverages, oysters and crab nachos. We made an impromptu trip down to Murrells Inlet while in Myrtle Beach for the Thanksgiving holiday. Of all the years we have been visiting the area, this is the first time we have been down to Murrells Inlet and the Marsh Walk. First bit of advice, definitely do some research beforehand. There are too many restaurants to just be like "hey, let's go down to the Marsh Walk and while we're at it, get something to eat." lol Thankfully we got down there early enough in the day and opted for The Claw House based on Yelp reviews and the views. There were 4 of us in our party. 2 in the party got the fish and chips, I got the Fisherman's Platter (fried) and my mom got the Grilled Salmon. Fish and Chips - for 2 identical dishes, they were not identical. The hubs fish was very light in color and the batter was somewhat undercooked, while my dad's was that perfect golden brown. The fries were pretty lackluster. They looked pretty anemic and were a cross between McDonald's fries and Steak n Shake's. My mom got the Grilled Salmon with the corn on the cob and onion rings. The salmon was cooked perfectly, corn on the cob steamed just right and the onion rings were okay. I got the Fisherman's Platter - Fried and sweet baby cheesus, let me tell you about the scallops. These scallops were the kind of scallops you would expect to get if you were ordering them as an entree, not as part of a platter. I was honestly expecting baby scallops but man was I pleasantly surprised. I would say there were about 5 scallops, 5-6 shrimp, 5 oysters and the large piece of cod. I got onion rings as my side which were okay, but have definitely had better. The views from the covered patio were beautiful, service was good and overall the food was excellent. I came here for my birthday dinner and it was perfect. Adam went above and beyond to accommodate my group and our server Ethan was on top of everything the entire night. What I really appreciate is that the Claw House seems like a tourist spot, they clearly value locals too which means a lot since I have lived on the Grand Strand my whole life. The food is always incredible and the lobster roll is unlike any I have ever had. It has actually ruined all other lobster rolls for me because it is that good. Food: The food was really good. One of the items my group had was the Nachos. I recommend getting the appetizer Nachos because it's shareable and big enough to be a meal. The Grilled Salmon was very delicious . Ambiance: Sat outside and it wasn't bad because by the time we left inside was too cramped and crowded. Service: The service was good. After walking around the marsh in a hot day, we need to sit down somewhere with AC. Good thing all the restaurants there have in/out seating. The claw house have outside, semi-inside with the view or full AC inside which we chose. The decor is pretty nice and they even have a huge fish tank which attracts all the kids. Our server is new but very nice. We ordered fried calamari, shrimp and crab lettuce wrap for starters and grilled seafood platter (shrimp, flounder, scallops) and steamed pot with snow crab legs. All of them delicious and very fresh. No wonder out friends told us to only have sea food at Murrells Inlet. Overall, great restaurant. Okay so I got so many friends and family that visit hooked on this place. Out of the whole Marshwalk this is the best spot to get a good deal on crab leg bucket and has a good variety of everything. My mom and I ALWAYS get the crab leg bucket (they have several sizes). And their calamari is one of the best on the grand strand (not too friend and a ton of actual calamari). Service has always been amazing even during busy tourists months. I complained once about a white wine I tried and she didn't even charge me for it or question me (not many places do that anymore). The location is great for the Marshwalk where is easy to find parking. And they have a great back patio where it's fun to people watch. Our second time at the Claw House while visiting Murrell's Inlet. We started with the crab nachos and my son's Mac and cheese kids meal. The crab nachos were HUGE and delicious. The mango on them really gave the dish a light, fresh flavor. My son got a huge bowl of Mac and cheese with a large portion of fries. Husband got the clam strips dinner and the onion rings. The shrimp were fresh and steamed perfectly! For Entrees my husband ordered the Grilled Seafood Platter and he said everything was beyond his expectations. Fresh, seasoned well and not over cooked. Our first time visiting The Claw House at Murrells Inlet--and wow, thIs just became my favorite spot in this quaint, relaxed town just a short drive from bustling Myrtle Beach! The restaurant is just beautiful! Large inside area with a beautiful bar and mesmerizing tropical fish tanks. Gorgeous covered/enclosed patio, plus an outside patio that leads into a super fun beer garden along the water! The service was just great and the food was plentiful and delicious!!! We had the lobster roll and fish bites. Both were huge and perfectly cooked! The fish bites are an appetizer but a heaping portion. I also ordered a few oysters from the raw bar and they were delicious. I really wanted the crab nachos and luckily the table next to us ordered and they were gigantic and just covered with crab! I sadly don't have a photo of those!
