However, I was shocked and uncomfortable to overhear them speaking negatively about me in my own home--assuming I wouldn't understand because they didn't realize I was bilingual. While the actual cleaning service is pretty good, I always got different teams every month. And this company does a rotation cleaning meaning not everything gets done every time. Usually a three person team would come, always on time, and they did a good job. The downside is the pricing.. I have a very small 950 ft mobile home and they charged $210 if I wanted both bedrooms and bathrooms cleaned. And these are very small. I usually paid $165 and chose to clean the other bathroom myself. That was before the recent price increase which they said was due to the minimum wage increase in california. I decided enough was enough and contacted Molly Maids. They will do the whole house for $130, no exceptions. That is a huge difference and Molly Maids has an excellent reputation. I would have stayed with the Cleaning Authority but the pricing was ridiculous. As I said they were raising all the rates in january. read more

I terminated TCA for charging me twice for the same service, being rude about me wanting my overpayment returned, not thoroughly cleaning when I paid for a detailed kitchen/bath, having standing water on my laminate flooring when I CLEARLY explained during my initial estimate that ALL my laminate floors require ZEP not water for cleaning and for RUINING my travertine shower floor with BLEACH! My first cleaning was amazing! I was so excited. I really need support at home with keeping the house clean as my child has a disability and requires my focus 100% of the time. So even though a cleaning service is expensive, I was willing to use my spending money on it to make life easier and cleaner. My 2nd cleaning was awful. 1st they were over 2 hours late. When they finally got here they didn't clean anything. Literally. It's like they just put soapy water in a bucket and milled around the rooms and then left. There was visible dust everywhere and the "room of focus" that day was supposed to be the bathroom. They left with the shower door covered in spots and the shelves in the shower still visibly grimy and the floor was obviously not even swept. When I called to complain, I was offered to have someone come back out to clean up (wasn't possible for that day as we were leaving town) so they offered $20 off the next cleaning.... So I ended up paying $140 for absolutely nothing. I can't afford that. I canceled the service completely. I couldn't take a chance on wasting more money. read more

We have been using The Cleaning Authority for several months now. We have them clean every other week. They do a fantastic job. I'm a fan of their rotating deep clean. Each time they clean, one of the four "zones" receives a deep cleaning while the other four get the standard treatment. It works. read more

There is literally NO communication between the people doing the work who do not speak English and the "manager" who is the customers only contact. There are 13 or so teams so if you let one group know something no one else ever knows. They put clean fitted sheets over the dirty ones twice. They were two to 2.5 hours late often. Requested a specific team, and was promised they would do the service. Out of 10 services, I've only gotten that team 2 times. Each time they arrive, I have to go over the entire house with housekeepers who cannot communicate back to me. They just nod. Then, they do the job however they want, regardless of communication. Patricia, the person who does the initial visit, promises things she cannot deliver. At sign up, I was told without being given any choice that my window for cleaning was Tuesdays from 9am-12pm. Sometimes they'd show up nearly an hour before that window. Others they'd show up at late as 1:30 pm. They basically stopped showing up in that window entirely. I told myself the next time it happened I had to say something. Sure enough, today, they don't show up at all. I call their number and get routed to some generic HQ for the national operations. He was very nice. He said the cleaning team already missed their prescheduled 1pm window for this week (!? what happened to my 9am-12pm window?). He called the Sacramento manager and she sent an emergency crew to come clean my house at 4pm. I cannot be at my home all day from 8am-4pm, so I left to go do an errand. That's when I got the call that the crew was coming. The psychopath manager for the Sacramento location calls me and starts blaming me for not being home. Saying that I chose not to have a window so they can show up at any time unnoticed on my cleaning day. Saying I need an app to schedule a window. Denying that she never told me about the app when she signed me up. I still have a copy of the agreement and your promo materials... no mention of an app! Plus what good is the app if the cleaning crew can just ignore the window anyways.... I downloaded the app and saw indeed I was scheduled for earlier today but the crew blew it off and then their manager blamed me. I gave this manager once last chance to please be respectful and made it clear to her that she hadn't lost my business yet, but she doubled down got hostile, which I was glad to give back to her. Now I'll seek a new company, which is probably fine because these crews broke stuff every other week and did very low effort cleaning jobs. Despite my house not growing, some cleans take 3x as long as others with no explanation. Finally, they use vacuums that are probably old enough to attend college. read more

We have started the cleaning service last week. The ladies arrived timely and cleaned great. It was the 1st service so it took longer than normal but we are looking forward to continuing the service. I have called the office after each clean to make suggestions(3 cleans) NO MORE !!! 1. Housekeepers have apparently not been trained to do housework. 2. Perhaps the company gives too many homes to each crew per day and the housekeepers cannot do a thorough job. 3. Send another crew.... got it, but they are even less thorough. Many missed areas. I have learned a trick of the trade who are attempting to deceive .....vacuuming and mirror cleaning make the whole house appear clean at a glance. 4. My next suggestion will be to never come back to clean my home. AND my home is an easy home to clean....no clutter at all, no children, no pets, very little knick knacks since I don't like to spend my hours dusting. read more

There comes a point .... where you know that you really need to get some outside help with keeping the house in Tip Top shape. The Cleaning Authority is well worth the very reasonable expense...I have never had house cleaners do a better job. They always go that extra mile and do that extra special little touch like folding your towels all pretty or cleaning something that wasn't even on the rotation that week. When the boss first comes out to give you a quote, they work closely with you to tailor the recommended frequency and areas of focus to meet your needs. I've been with them for years and years and they're completely trustworthy. On the rare occasions where something accidentally gets broken, they leave you a note and the company will compensate you for it immediately with no questions asked. I wish I had read all the review here before I hired their service. It was terrible. On top of that, when the manager called me (probably after reading my review on google), instead of making things better, the manager was rude and accused me of 'doing something wrong'. I didn't even know what she was talking about. I had her on speaker -- she even interrupted me saying 'you don't need to scream...'. wow, the reviewer who posted before saying Patricia was rude and shouldn't be a manager was right on. She was really nice when she came over to do the estimate, but it turned out that was not the case. She is not professional at all. The service itself was awful. I had two cleanings done. The first time was better than the 2nd time, even though there were many missing spots but I thought I should give them another chance. The 2nd one was terrible. I had to ask the team come back inside to wipe clean the cabinet door surface, lighting fixture over my nook dining table, baseboard downstairs... and so on. They even missed an entire bedroom downstairs! So I called the office afterwards to report what happened and also to terminate the service, but the guy who took my call could care less... I was left speechless. When the manager called me the next day, I thought she was calling to asking for details of the poor service and making things right. But to my surprise, she wasn't. Instead, she was attacking me and saying I was 'doing something wrong'. What a joke. I was polite and friendly (even though I was very disappointed with their service at that moment) when I asked them to come back inside the house to finish the job. I paid in full amount of $295 without any complaints. BTW, I had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, hallway and stairs included in the service agreement, and they (a team of 3) were able to 'finish' cleaning in less than an hour. Well, I always have had professional cleaning service so I know how much time it should take on average. There is no way that all this work could be done under one hour if it was done right. Once I had a team of 5 and it took them close to two hours. I never posted any review online, but I did it this time only because I hope others won't have to go through what I had experienced with TCA. I wish I had believed the 'negative' reviews posted on YELP and GOOGLE before I hired them. But I didn't. Lesson learned. read more

I was reluctant to try the cleaning authority after Reading other reviews but so glad I did! I have a small but busy house packed with 2 kiddos and a dog so it's no small feat to get clean. They reminded me by phone the previous week of my upcoming appointment and showed up promptly on time and completed on time. I was easily able to communicate my needs and Team #4 Jackie & Gaby went out of their way to complete the job. They even made the beds which I know is not typically included in the service but they saw that I was running late and wanted to help out. A quality control inspector stopped by to check the work but I met her at the door and told her no need as I had already completed a walk through and the house looked fantastic and as I mentioned I was running late for an appointment. I am hoping that I get the same level of service with subsequent cleanings and look forward to posting an update. read more

I need someone on the cleaning crew who can speak or read English. Not a show stopper, but definitely a problem if there are special instructions, such as DON'T LET THE CATS OUT. I just terminated TCA last night after I came home and my indoor cat was lost outside. That was a show stopper. My little dog, who will bite if threatened or teased, had a sore backend. He may have been kicked but I don't know that. I only know he was sore and whiny when I came home. Cleaning-wise, they did a great job the first two times and then went downhill every time after. I specifically asked to be told when they substituted a crew for my regular crew. Didn't happen again yesterday, so any instructions I could possibly have left about the cats or any closed doors, or whatever, didn't get left. (I assume if I leave a note, even if someone can't read it, they can take a picture of it and send it to the office for translation. But I don't know that.) Also, another piddly thing but it's made me crazy - they stuffed things in whichever drawer was nearest. So now, every single drawer in my house is a junk drawer. One of the substitute crews got bleach on a colored bathroom rug and ruined it. I reported it, but nothing ever happened. I think the whole office may be mismanaged. I would not recommend them. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I have used Cleaning /authority for some time, mainly because I don't have time to house clean shop. The last visit was it for me. The cleaning was....well not clean. Did not open bathroom doors to clean behind, smudges on mirrors, streaks on the stainless. I had to have them come out to re-clean and still was awful. No one there knows what is going on and you can never reach them....an answering service and always a call back by someone you can't possible understand. I use a cleaning service because I am busy and don't have time for needless phone tag. They were absolutely rude. The sad part is now that I am between services and doing my own cleaning I realize how horrible the cleaning was. Things I thought were chips in paint were just dirt....they say they hand wipe, but with what I will never know because it came right off for me. Cannot recommend. read more

The Cleaning Authority has been cleaning our house every 3 weeks for about 7 months. We have really enjoyed the quality of the cleanings, the helpfulness of the office staff in rescheduling, and the professionalism and punctuality (yes! they show up on time!) of our cleaners. In particular we are REALLY fond of "Team Six" which is Yenni and Celia. After we told them of our desire to have our hardwood floors really detailed - they have painstakingly cleaned them on each visit. Is every cleaning perfect? No. (hence the 4 stars) --- BUT the office has been VERY responsive to send people out and make things right no matter what. In our whole time with The Cleaning Authority we have only needed a team to come out to "fix" their cleaning a couple of times. If you are present when the cleaning is finished and see something you want cleaned with more detail (which is rare!) - you can ask for something to be touched up a bit if needed & Team Six is quick to make it right! We really enjoy The Cleaning Authority's service and you will too! read more

Pros: They offer credit card payments automatically when they complete a cleaning. Who wants to write checks now-a-days? Also, the ladies that clean are polite and accommodating. Cons: I had them come back to re-clean every other time they cleaned. I got questions like "Why do you think this is not clean?" from the manager when I asked them to come back. Um, there is dust on the windowsill, or there is a sticky spot on the floor. I'm not making up a pretend mess. It became too much work for me to pay them to clean and then have to go back through and ensure everything is actually clean. read more

Just yelled at on the phone for asking to have supervisor walk through following a "whole house" cleaning that was incomplete. Told I was LYING about what I have seen. Shouting at a customer when one is asking for clarification is not a best business practice. I had these folks for 4 visits. The first 3 went well and at the last one I had to vacuum downstairs as they didn't. Mind you, I am paying top dollar for this service. The first two initial cleans were GREAT! Unfortunately the cleaners who came recently, Team #6 Estella, Teresa & Yohanna, caused permanent damage. I can overlook that they left a bag of trash in front of my house or didn't put a new bag in the trash can. Even my essential oil diffuser being put upside down and leaking oils onto my 100+ year old night stand. However, my new shower curtain is COVERED in BLEACH splatters. I am HIGHLY disappointed - when I called Patricia, the manager, I was told they could "give me $25 off my next cleaning" -- not even enough to cover the $40 for my ruined shower curtain (for which I still have the receipt) or to start to restore an antique dresser. I definitely DON'T trust them in my house again - and if this is the job they do when I'm home, I wouldn't want them here on their own! read more

2 minutes ago It took a week for somebody to come out and take a look at my house to give me a quote. It took another week to get on the schedule. The day that the cleaners were supposed to show up, they did not. When I called to complain the lady Patty started yelling at me and said I am giving you a discount why are you still complaining? I told her that I have been waiting around the house all morning for the cleaners to show up. I told her there was so many things I could have done this morning but instead I sat around waiting for her cleaners that never showed up. She said well you can go and find someone else to clean your house then. If I could give them zero Stars I would. I asked them if this is how they treat their customers? I started with the Cleaning Authority two months ago. I am overall satisfied with their service. The clean you get really does depend on the team and I do not think I have had the same team twice. I have had some not so great ones and some great ones. I just had Marian and Maricela and they did a great job. My home smelled clean and looked clean. Surfaces were dusted well, floors clean and both the kitchen and bathrooms looked great. With a house full of boys this is sometimes a rough clean and they do it well.
