Wow what a spot. This place is apparently owned by the Boaters Grill (situated very close - see my other review) - and the views and location are second to none. Twinkling lights, a nice open rustic key west, but modern vibe concept right on the edge of the marina - with sea views, Stiltsville in the background, boats, sunset, you get the picture. Love this place during sunset. Come visit by boat or drive in. Highly recommend that you bring your fav plate or order at baiters grill. Noticed a few folks came in with their own pizza and some refreshments. We had several drinks at the bar and were happy with their offerings to include IPA on tap. Not sure what the summer months will be like here but winter should be the time to visit with less bugs to tackle. read more

A great spot for enjoying the sunset over Biscayne Bay. I recommend getting here early to snag seating before it fills up. We got here around 5:30 (sunset in July is around 7), and there were plenty of seats. Drinks are good, though not cheap. You are paying a premium for the location. The live music was great! They have servers that run around taking and fulfilling orders, but you can also order your drink at the bar, open a tab, and bring it to your table/chair. Note that the bar line gets long after 6:30ish. Also, if you open a tab, they'll take down your card information but return your card, so it's your responsibility to remember to close your tab so you can pay and tip these guys. We were a little confused at first why they just returned our card. I guess it's an honors system. A lot of people come here from the beach dressed like they are in the Hamptons. It's a very specific crowd. Main downside: Lots of gnats where we were sitting! read more

We had been here before and love the scenery. Today it was a disaster. We get there right st 2 when they open to avoid the sunset crowd. We get a table and ask an employee if they have table service or we need to go to bar...... his reply was "walk" pointing to the bar. Food service doesn't start until 4, so we decided to order at Boaters grill which is next door and own by same people and bring over. When our son walks over the same guy said you are not allowed to bring food from outside. Meanwhile we are consuming alcohol but I guess that isnt important to them. We close tab and left to eat our food elsewhere and while looking at the receipt we noticed they had charged a tip..... Seriously? Mind you when we placed order the lady adviced the churrasco was $36 which of course was nowhere on any of the online menus. We do not mind paying that price and more at perhaps a steakhouse or any fancy restaurant but not here...... this is how you kill businesses........ very disappointed and will not come back. Rude blonde short haired bartender- I used to run a bar and was a bartender for many years. Never have I ever heard a bartender say after purchasing 100$ worth of drinks: okay can you leave this bar area so I can serve the other customers waiting!! All 5 of us looked around and nobody ! Food is great. Had the whole fried snapper and it was amazing. The service is a little lacking. Plenty of staff, just not very attentive.

CLEAT MIAMI : Here's the deal; the bill was $83 for 5 drinks, 1 was a Virgin mojito. And we also had a "starry" soda. 16*3=48. 48+14=62, 62+3=65, 65+4(tax)=69, 69*18% AUTO GRATUITY comes out to around $82 which was the bill. The bill wasn't the issue. The 18% auto gratuity was the issue. The server only came by ONCE, to take our order. That's it. Tell me how that merits 18% gratuity. That's a $15 tip. That service was NOT worth $15. And top of all this didn't provide a receipt saying that the 18% gratuity was AUTOMATICALLY tacked, and asked for more tip on top of it. I'll give this place a 3. Because the drinks were good (a little watered down) the place is beautiful. The service was garbage. read more

We are leaving 3 stars and not 5 because the owner Reina was SO rude to our group. It was 8 of us and we were there from 5 to 8:30. It started raining so everyone started to move their tables to an under roof area, so did we. The owner came and started throwing our chairs around and yelling at us, she moved the table and chairs very rudely. We let it go, then...30' later she comes back and says "are you leaving? There's a min consumption to stay" after we had ordered multiple drinks and snacks, it just happened to be winding down so we weren't actively ordering. Honestly she made us feel unwelcome and ruined the entire night. Our server was amazing, super nice and welcoming. The owner should stay back at home and stop scaring away costumers. read more

Fun casual spot owned by the Boaters Grill! It's located at the end of No Name Harbor. You can park in the lot near the boaters grill and walk about 5 minutes to the outdoor bar. I believe it's also called the Cleat MIA(?). It's completely surrounded by water, with nice string lights and a combination of picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and high tops in the sand. Definitely a family friendly spot, with kids riding their bikes along the water. Drinks are a little overpriced ($15+ mojitos) but worth it for the sunset views and vibes! There is some table service but you can also order at the bar. Great place to watch the sunset with friends or family! read more

My drink had several ants in it, then the owners told our server she had to give us bottled water instead of tap because we weren't ordering "bottles" (you would think a place on the water would understand your hatred for plastic bottles and want to do their part too but no). The Cleat is our new favorite place in Miami. Even with a cloudy sky it is such an amazingly beautiful setting. The staff and owners are so friendly and provide great service. Parents should remind their kids they are not going to a playground, but the kids will have a great time looking off the dock spotting fish and lobsters. read more

The only positive thing I can say about this place is the view. The owner has a serious issue with her attitude. We have visited this place at least five times over the past couple years since they opened and it is always a very bad experience. We usually go with our family which includes young kids to watch the sunset. They give you an attitude for bringing kids and let's not talk about the sand. The sand is the most precious thing there according to the owner. If you look at the sand in the wrong way, or move the sand and the wrong way you will be yelled at. Can you imagine telling a kid they cannot play with the sand in an outdoor environment because the sand has to look perfect for the owner? That is how the owner treats her customers. They now have a very rude security guard that tells you right away. This is not a playground. Do not let your kids run or play with the sand as soon as you walk in with children. I will not spend a dime at this restaurant and I will make sure everybody I know avoids this place. They need to close up and she needs to retire or find a new line of business as hospitality is the exact opposite of what this owner has. read more

Not sure why there aren't more reviews but I guess that's a good thing for now because this is one of those places in Miami, like the old Jimbo's on Virginia Key or Salt at the UM School of Marine Sciences, that makes living here worthwhile. The popularity of Cleat will be well deserved. Nice bar and well stocked, although the drinks come in plastic cups, which is regrettable. Nobody wants to drink a nice Manhattan out of a plastic cup but, that said, they carry some quality liquor. The place is immaculate. Plenty of tables spread out over the ground and the sunset view is wonderful. Not sure about the food issue. I had heard they sometimes offer light snacks but someone else will have to verify that. read more

What a place to watch the Sunset! It's Lovely. Clara the waitress provided us with great Service. Eric the manager did a great job accommodating 20 people I invited to the place.
