We love the Cod Father!!! We have been several times since they opened the new location in Nexton and it's been awesome every time! Our kids loved the British decor and high top tables. There is a full bar separate from the restaurant with equally cool theming. The service was excellent and the kind people working there answered all of our questions about the ingredients in the meat pies. We ordered several orders of fish and chips and a sausage roll. The fish is so fresh and crispy, the house made tartar sauce is the best I have ever had! The portions are huge and definitely could be shared. The second time we went, we decided to try the Chicken curry pie and it was just as delicious with a flaky, buttery crust and warm and creamy chicken curry yumminess inside! We will definitely be back!

With Codfather selling it's Park Circle location we are fortunate to have Codfather Nexton to still find great fish and chips. The restaurant is roomy and decorated with both English staples and salutes to local first responders. Unlike its originator they cook their fish to order so there may be a slight wait, but it is very much worth it. When I go, I like to order the Tennet's lager which is smooth and crispy and full of flavor. Instead of chips we tried the Manchester Special which are their famous chips with gravy and cheese. The gravy was rich and savory with plenty of ooey gooey cheese. Perfect on a cold winter's day! We tried the Battered Sausage which had a large smokey sausage fried golden brown. It was ok but I wished the sausage was spicier but that's just me. I have never had a Doner Kebob, but I discovered that it is basically a gyro. Now I went with the standard lamb with onions, lettuce, and tomatoes with a feta spread and tzatziki sauce, but you could also order different sauces and toppings. All in all, a pretty decent gyro with lots of meat. Finally, you can't come here and not try the fish. Nicely battered and cooked to a perfect golden brown this filet really hit the spot. We may be losing Park Circle but at least Codfather lives on in the Nexton area!

What more can I say about an awesome place like this! We pretty much go here twice a month and thoroughly enjoy the fish and chips as well as the curry meat pie. Hi always leave happy and full!

I liked the hand breaded freshly prepared fish. Nice crunchy exterior and properly seasoned. The chips were delicious. Service was fast. There is an attached bar area that you can get a drink and eat the food ordered in the restaurant. It has a nice British pub vibe but a bit cramped. I was in a corner high top near the door with a trashcan and broom. Seemed a bit off versus the rest of the area. Bartender was quick with service too.

WOW! I've heard so much about this place and it took me this long to go. Very lovely set up of the place. Plenty of seating and there's also a bar connected to the restaurant. My friend and I ordered the half fish and chips and man the portion size is HUGE. I can't imagine the regular fish and chips. I couldn't even finish half my food. I love how your order is wrapped in this long paper and given to you kind of like a present. Its super cute! The food was piping hot, freshly made. The fish was crispy and flavorful! The fries were seasoned just right and the tartar sauce was tangy with a hint of sweetness. I loved the whole combination of flavors. I was very pleased!!! The pricing is pretty great too (it's about 9 something for a half fish and chips) overall 10/10!

I really liked the fish and thought the portion was good for what I wanted (the 1/2 fish and chips) fries were a little dry but not bad. Tartar sauce was great with the fish.

Ooops was to excited and hungry this is the end of the meal

I got the fish and chips. The fish and the chips were very bland and tasteless. I will not go there again.

Very healthy portions and tastes great. Fun atmosphere in the bar area and the bartender offered very helpful suggestions for draft beer.

The pretzels were fresh and savory and the Harp Lager Beer Cheese was the perfect pair to complement the pretzels. For my main course, I went with my ole faithful Irish pub meal, Fish N' Chips. I will honestly say, this was one of my favorite Fish N' Chips meals in America. I have tried Fish N' Chips while traveling in Ireland and the Fish N' Chips from O'Hara's is a solid second behind that. Our server was attentive and helped navigate us through the menu. The ambiance was that of a proper Irish Pub. Overall, I will give say O'Hara's was a PHENOMENAL choice for dinner. I will highly recommend to others who may be visiting the area.

Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

The server was really nice and attentive. He also provided some good recommendations for my meals. I got the fisherman's pie and the Rueben rolls. Fisherman's pie is pretty much a seafood Shepard pie. Really good and really hardy. The rueban rolls were basically egg rolls with rueban filling. Hard to go wrong when dipping something in thousand island. I also recommend trying one of the half and half beers! I had the black and blue which seemed like an odd. combination but it worked well together!

This came as a nice discovery for me as I am new to the area and still learning where the hot spots are. Inside, the restaurant feels like a traditional Irish pub: dark wood, very dim-lit, regulars pooled around the bar, weird little corners and nooks everywhere. Our server was as nice as can be. Can't go wrong with the Fried Pickles, they hit the spot and were not too breaded. Fries were great. We all ordered the Shepherd's Pie, served with a side of Irish soda bread, each $18. For what you get, I feel it's a little steep. The angus beef was seasoned and cooked beautifully, very moist and not dry at all. However, all three of our meals mostly consisted of mashed potatoes on top and an off-ratio of angus beef on the bottom. It felt unbalanced and did not have nearly enough meat, and all of us had the same experience. The potatoes were dry and not particularly impressive; I expected more from a place billed as a traditional Irish restaurant. Given that I came with two others and we all ordered the same thing, though, I didn't get to try more of their menu and I wouldn't be opposed to going back to try more items on the menu. Maybe it's just not the best thing they have.

They opened at 11:00 and we walked in at 11:01, anxious to get our fish! The waitress was great and set us up quickly at a table and took our drink orders and brought us Guiness and teas. She heard all the chatter about the Fish N Chips and the next thing she said is "We don't have any beer batter yet, so no Fish N Chips! Immediately there were groans and moans. We had our beer and had come here specifically for the Fish N. Chips. She went back to check and returned saying "Yep, no beer batter so no Fish N Chips". Several of us joked that we may as well drink our beer and go next door to the Mongolian Yummy Stir fry place. We now started browsing for other menu items that we wanted. After about five minutes she came back out and said they could make up some batter but didn't know how long it would take. (How long does it take to stir up beer batter?). We said we'd wait. In the meantime two of our guys placed orders for the Scottish Eggs and Onion Rings for the table. They were both excellent. Three of us ordered the Fish N Chips and two had decided to go with the Bangers and Mash. One order for the Beef Eater sandwich, one Club Sandwich and one Rueben Sandwich. The food came out and the fish n chips were great. Not greasy, crispy, large haddock slice with great french fries. and green peas (which were barely luke ward, almost cold). The two guys with the Bangers and Mash loved it..Great sausage and the potatoes were excellent with mustard. The Rueben was great and also the Beef Eater. The waitress did a great job, checking on us throughout lunch. All in all, what started out as a questionable lunch turned into another fine lunch for the ROMEO group. The rating was 9.18 on the ROMEO scale...5.0 on Yelp scale. Only issue was something was wrong with the tea. It almost looked like water. Maybe because we were the first group in and the tea had just been made.

When the British Bulldog calls itself a "pub", I feel like it's one of the very few places that takes that moniker to heart. Even though it's located in somewhat of a strip-mall setting, once you walk inside the building, you're amazed by the authenticity of the inside. Personally, I loved the brick and wood that made up the interior, which gave the restaurant the realistic "pub" vibe that I mentioned earlier. Furthermore, I loved the framed, and hanging, soccer flags, which was a marked contrast to the professional and college sports paraphernalia at your typical American sports bar. I walked in kind of late, and just sat at the bar, which still made for a great experience. Even though it's an English restaurant, they still had a lot of the popular local and domestic beers, to go along with the more English-themed beverages. I asked if they had any "sours", and the bartender was kind enough to offer me a sample of the two (2) sours that they had on tap, and let me choose the one I liked the most. The aforementioned bartender was great, and I overheard him offering some folks from out-of-town with recommendations for nearby late-night spots and high-quality local joints. Finally, my simple order of chicken tenders and fries was pretty good, and I thoroughly enjoyed their steak-cut "chips," or French Fries. All-in-all, I waited too long to try out the British Bulldog, which was a great pub experience that definitely lived up to my high expectations. I'll definitely be coming back soon, and in turn, would recommend it to anybody else!
