I like CBTL, and their staff is always so friendly and courteous! This review is specifically for a pickup order that I placed with them via the "Too Good to Go" app. I usually don't purchase too many food items at the coffee shop, but the price for a surprise bag of items was only 4.99+tax, and they sell out fast so I figured this was a good opportunity to try a few. Pickup window was 5pm-6pm. I arrived right at 5pm, and told the barista I was picking up. She was multitasking with a few things and said she was just getting ready to pack it up. I got it quickly from there, easy transaction, friendly service as always. My bag had 4 items, which is less than some I had seen and read about, but still it was about 1/3 the usual cost for the items, and every item was something I would have loved to try. I had a Caprese sandwich, vegan banana bread slice, lemon raspberry muffin and blueberry scone. Each item was individually pre-packaged, and very fresh, not like a leftover to be discarded. The sandwich was tasty, pesto spread and bread soft, and good amount of basil and mozzarella. Not much tomato, though. The banana bread was moist and delicious, too. The muffin was tiny but very rich and sweet. I saved the scone for another day but it was huge and packed with blueberries. In all, a fair purchase, and nice to discover their food items are good quality. read more

So, like so many other ppl, the local coffee shop is my "3rd spot". I started coming to Coffee Bean about 15 years ago as part of a cigar smoking group. The manager at the time, Morgan, took real pride in her store. She set high standards for cleanliness. That hasn't been the case since. Several days ago I was here ...(my friends come through every day). While waiting I looked at water bottles to buy. I noticed the tops & the shelves were completely dusty and dirty. I mentioned it to the retail employee, who turned to say something to the manager, but he was busy. It's now Friday, still just as filthy and Alex, the manager, is in this afternoon (12:40 pm). He helped with my purchase so I mentioned the retail was filthy and stated that I had mentioned to the employee..., he responds, "Yea it's dusty" as if that's ok and looks at me like I did something wrong. Maybe if I put it in writing... Quick update. I'm leaving now at 3 PM. I saw the Manager leave and I just went to the washroom and walked out... I have been to this location a couple of times only out of convenience, due to the fact that it's near Krispy Kreme donuts and it reduces me having to drive too much. Today I went in to redeem my free drink coupon and the barista looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked if I could use 2 coupons in 1 transactions. Other Coffee Bean locations have made me do separate transactions. This guy was able to do it in one order, but seemed very irritated with me for asking the question and I felt rushed. I'm not a young person. I didn't grow up with cell phones, apps, or the internet. It seems like everyone who works here is very unhappy and hates their job based on the times I've visited, especially Sundays. I don't expect to get free drinks or for people to recognize me and give me special treatment just because I'm a Comedian. However, this particular location has subpar customer service in my opinion. I'm just going to patronize my usual location from now on because I shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable. I ordered the Iced Lightened Matcha Latte, but then had stomach issues afterwards. I didn't need medical attention, but I was concerned because I've never got sick after having anything (food or beverage) from Coffee Bean. BTW, I have no food allergies or restrictions. read more

This is my local coffee bean and I like to come here to study. They have plenty of outlets and the noise is minimal. My favorite thing about this location is the unique artwork that changes throughout the year. It's always a fun surprise and the artist/barista seems extremely talented! The customer service here is terrible. The black guy seemed annoyed that we ordered two drinks and on top of that he smelled so bad. We could smell him from across the register and smelled worst than the homeless people in there. Really made me doubt how clean their coffee shop is if they can't even shower themselves. As we were leaving we said "thank you" and not a single reply. If you work in customer service you know the least you can do is say thank you back or even a have a good one. I came here to get a gift card and a drink, and I was really surprised when I came here! The Cookie Butter drinks come iced, hot, and ice blended which I was so excited about! I got a Cookie Butter Iced Latte, and it tasted great! I tried my sister's Iced Matcha Latte, and it was good! It doesn't taste like just milk or like seaweed like the matcha lattes that Starbucks makes so I thought that was great. The grilled cheese was just a basic grilled cheese, nothing special. It's definitely a better study spot than Starbucks. The seats are more comfy, and they are cushioned. The lighting isn't too harsh and bright, and it's pretty clean here! There's also a ton of cute drawings that the employees did, I saw a little Snoopy on the straw container! The employees are super helpful and nice. There were about 3 employees, but they all seem great! I would come back here again! It feels cozy, and it seems like the perfect place to study or to sit down and catch up! read more

Came here for my usual and I see that they are short staff... Well not totally because there manager walked in and didn't even get on the floor to help her team. I used to love coming to this Coffee Bean, but now I can't recommend it at all knowing what's going on behind the scenes. The drinks were never up to par unless they were made by Ellora, who was by far the most attentive barista there. Ellora was a customer favorite, and talking with her was always the most delightful part of my visits. She truly brought a special energy and warmth to this place. To make matters worse, I recently overheard that Ellora was unrightfully fired because the manager had a personal vendetta. This is such a disappointing and unprofessional move, especially considering how much customers loved her. With Ellora gone and the quality of service plummeting, I won't be returning to this location. Management clearly doesn't care about their employees or their customers. What a shame. read more

I only give this place two stars because of how wonderful this barista named Ellora. Ellora is hands down the best barista around. She's always so friendly, efficient, and makes my coffee exactly how I like it every single time. Her attention to detail and warm attitude truly brighten up my mornings. That said, I can't say the same about the general manager. Unfortunately, he's consistently rude and seems disorganized, often causing delays and confusion. It's clear he struggles with managing the team, and it affects the overall experience. It's frustrating, because Ellora deserved better especially as she was unjustly fired! 01/01/2023, $6.90 now for a large cafe mocha from Coffee Bean although .85 cents extra because I got oat milk instead of regular milk. Plus it's very sweet, taste like a mouthful of sugar. Honestly this is my favorite CB location in LB. Staff is always so polite and very helpful, I've been coming here just about daily and I've never had any issues. If I can put zero stars, I would. Ellora was my favorite barista and truly gave me the best customer service experience with a warm smile. It's disheartening to see someone so talented and kind no longer part of this team. I've had fine interactions from Roy, but his behavior and attitude towards his baristas is very off putting and leaves a horrible impression. As a regular customer, Roy's treatment towards his team makes me not want to return. I hope to see improvement in staff decisions and customer service. read more
