Simply put, Vanessa is DOPE! A CSA (customer service All Star) for sure. Came in with a friend as we both wanted something pumpkiny. In addition to that, we agreed that it had to be of the ice blended variety. Vanessa went out of her way and took a good 5 to 7 minutes explaining to both my guest and I all the variables that we could choose from. Will it have pumpkin flavor? Check. Will it be ice blended? Check. Can we cut down the sugar by at least half? Check. (No we didn't want any fake poisonous sugar substitutes which are even worse in the short and long run!) What Vanessa ultimately recommended for both my guest and I was an extreme pumpkin ice blended.. Both came out excellent and are highly recommended! As good as the product is, it still takes a back seat to the sheer level of customer service and attentiveness we received from Vanessa. read more

Shoutout to the awesome morning crew at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf! They're the best--always friendly and on point. I love grabbing the Java-to-go for when I host "Coffee with the Principal" days at my school--it's always a hit with parents. Coffee Bean coffee never disappoints! Sometimes, I drop by on the weekends with my mom. She enjoys sitting on the patio, and I have to admit, it's a great spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful view of Concert Park. That said, I really wish they'd commit to turning the fire pit back on. It would bring some much-needed warmth and make the patio even cozier. On a recent visit, I noticed an elderly man sitting at the pit, clearly disappointed that it wasn't working. Come on, Coffee Bean, we gotta take care of our elders! I love coffee bean, but I have to avoid this location because of Vanessa. She's an older woman who is rude, looks upset all of the time and clearly hates her job. Nobody wants to go in to a coffee shop for a pick me up with a big downer like that in the way. I came to pick up my mobile order on Monday 2/23 at noon and the man behind the counter immediately looked me up and down in a sexual manner. I came here to get my coffee not to find a man. Furthermore, I said "Hi" he says nothing just continues to stare at my body, I say "I'm here to pick up my order" and he motions with his head to where the pick up counter is and I say "ok" and scurry on out of there because that was SO uncomfortable. He helped me order and also informed me that he couldn't warm up any pastries, which I was upset with but appreciated beca he saved me some coins. The two baristas engaged me in conversation while they fixed my beverage. The location is in residential area surrounded by other restaurants and businesses you can enjoy. I worked restaurants 20yrs offered a tip as he threw out the foam I wanted on my latte. Instead of being open to the kind suggestion & professional tip he turns walks away and tells me apply to be a manager if you wanna talk to me. Any time I've stopped by to 'grab a quick coffee' while I'm walking my dog, has been anything but quick. You think I would've learned my lesson by now. The barista, Larry, was so kind at first but then once I was paying proceeded to ask me "if you have your own car, place, and money, why do u need a man?" He is immediately pushy and keeps saying I need someone bc I can't be independent. No matter me trying to stand my ground, why would he think that's an appropriate question to ask a customer? I keep walking away standing my ground and he keeps implying I need someone in my life? The worst coffee shop in socal. There is a Starbucks with an excellent team few blocks away. Go there instead. If you are down for a nice walk, there is a Blue Bottle further down. I had to ask them to check my order after I waited for over 20 minutes. There was no apology and skipping my order wasn't the only mess up. While I was waiting, I observed a very unprofessional crew with couple of them super rude. One yelled at a woman with a screaming child. Another condescendingly said to a customer that "the name is on the bag" when the customer asked her if the order on the counter was his. When I went to retrieve my order, I noticed it was a size small and politely told the barista I ordered a large and that I was sorry for the inconvenience. The large white barista immediately escalates the situation and yells at me. I kindly told her I was willing to show her my receipt and charge to my account which was $7.75 (the price of a large iced latte with oat). She continues to yell at me, I'm always super understanding and kind to staff (even in this situation), and I've never been "karen-ed" by a customer service person in my life. Like all you had to do was say "oh can I see your receipt," or have a conversation like a normal human being.
