I love this Coffee Bean, the staff is awesome, they have a great attitude. I love them! However the owner really needs to invest in fixing the pothole in the drive thru bc pretty soon i'm going to need an off-road vehicle to get my coffee in the morning. Although there are very few CB locations in the area ( closures in Del Mar/Carmel Valley and others) this location strives for good costumer service and products. I don't think that I've ever met a Coffee Bean that I didn't love. This location is spacious and bright with a good amount of seating. It even has a drive thru window, which is something that I wish my closest location in Carmel Valley had. Of course, I didn't get a chance to take advantage of the drive thru today because I had an hour to kill before my next appointment so I decided to just hang out inside. It's a nice place to relax though. I'm completely obsessed with the Pomegranate Blueberry Iced Tea Latte. If you're looking for a sweet drink with a slight pick-me-up, this is a great choice. I've never been to this Poway location , I've gone few times at the one at clairemont Mesa . This was my last time going to this Poway location . I go to this location quite frequently after my workouts nearby. It may not look like they're open but they are. There is an employee who remembers my drink and even asks if it's, my usual before I drive up. Great service! I came in this morning because I had a horrible sore throat. I asked the miss behind the counter which tea she recommended for a sore throat, she immediately knew which was the best. Mackenzie did a great job. While I was waiting, I expected my name to be called so I can pick up my tea... AMAZING!!! Deserves more stars! 1) the employees are super sweet and always helpful and kind! 2) their drinks are amazing! I haven't had much of the food but I bet it's good as well! My fave drinks are the mocha ice blended, cookies and cream half mocha half vanilla ice blended, hazelnut iced latte, and the cookie butter iced latte! I highly recommend the ice blended drinks to be double blended but that's just my preference. 3) the location is so awesome and super cute on the inside as well! 4) I don't have any pics because I always finish the drinks as soon as I get them LOL! 5) the drive thru is so fast! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate LENIE! She was so kind and patient! I came in this morning for a meeting and my mom wanted me to order a drink for her as well. So I had to order 2 drinks, and I wasn't 100% sure of what I wanted to order for either of the drinks. Lenie kindly explained to me which ingredients were in the Black Forest drink. I love the Coffee Bean WAY BETTER than Starbucks!! The only downside to this location, which I hope the staff will see/work on is the lack of shading for the windows. The sun gets really hot, especially in this area, and it makes it extremely difficult to sit down and do any kind of work when the sun is beating down on you through giant glass windows! I really like the people who work here. What I really like is that it is never as crowded at Starbucks. Mind you, I have to unlearn the habit of ordering a grande when I mean a medium but surely I will get used to this. I still do prefer Starbucks over coffee bean because there is a greater variety of ways to make healthier interesting drinks. When it comes to the different pricing, it is really kind of a strange draw. For example, two shots of espresso at coffee bean is more expensive than Starbucks. On the other hand, I saw a latte is cheaper at coffee bean, even if I don't use the 10% off card. I would not recommend the no sugar added powders but I must say that there are ice blended drinks have this amazing texture to them. Just try to run 3 miles before you drink one so you don't stack up the calories. I'm not a runner so I'm sticking with my soy latte this morning. Cheers!! read more

This was my first visit to the Poway location. They have plenty of parking and a spacious dining area with free WiFi! I ordered a caramel espresso con panna, which is this amazing layered espresso with caramel and milk. Delicious, and pretty...I wanted a supersize version. And I love that they served it in this tall shot glass. I also ordered a seasonal strawberry lemonade cheese Danish. It is a sad day that I must report that Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf has drasticall degraded the quality of their coffee. I drink pure black coffee so the true flavor is very clear for me. Raising the price slightly about a month ago was understandable. but cheapening the quality of their product has driven me away permanently. They were recently purchased by a huge multinational corporation, Jollibee, based in the Philippines. This probably is the reason. Bean counters aka accounts are usually the ones making these kind of decisions hoping the customer won't notice while pumping up profits. And it is true that many who order blended flavor drinks might not notice the change or realize they just got charged more. And make no mistake you are are getting charged more because the cheaper blends (usually cut with infeior robusta beans) cost less. Starbucks did the same thing several years ago and I stopped going there for the same reason. So now it is down to the little guys, the independents, who really care about their customers and aren't looking for ways to cheat them. Fortunately for me there are several in the area in which I live. Remember back when we went to places like Starbucks and Coffee Bean because they provided a superior coffee to what was available in the grocery stores? Now they are the same - at much much higher prices. Might as well be Maxwell House or Folgers Yuck!!! read more

Jesus, the two people that work here at night are so rude and full of themselves. We came one evening and asked for one moment please and we hear the girl go " Ooooh my gaaaawwwd" and then we ordered a blended drink and the guy with zero personality or energy says the blender is broken. So you work in a coffee shop with one blender?? Sure thing. Anyways we order our green tea latte and chai tea latte and when we get to the window the girl with a hat and short hair, is just rude and loud as always. Can't stand her. We get out drinks and both just taste like milk and not what they're supposed to taste like. We've been coming here for a long time and both these people are just the worst. My FAVORITE coffee people! I've never been a fan of Starbucks coffee but they've always been convenient bc they have a drive-thru and I'm lazy pre-coffee. So when I found this CBTL location with a drive-thru, I was stoked! In January I fell in love with their seasonal Rose Latte and downloaded their app..., then I was done for. This became my go-to spot on rainy days and brought me joy. Throughout the seasons we've had our ups and downs (ew, what was that chocolate mint drink around St. Patty's day!) but it's the baristas that make all the difference. The cupcakes (when they have them) are always super good. I can't stress enough how friendly the people at this location are. For a "chain" they really have a small neighborhood feel. read more

This morning decided to walk in to buy bakery item but to my surprise I'm the only customer and 5 staff were there but nobody ever said hello or good morning or just say we will be right with you in a sec. I was at the counter but seems they haven't seen. Waited for 5 mins but they just ignored me !!!! If I can rate them below zero I will definitely give them . I just walk out . Went to this location at 8:49 and they said they were closed and i asked what time they closed and he said 9 but they decided to close early for no reason. I wasn't the only person that they turned away as i saw multiple cars drive through before me but also get turned away. i rushed 15 minutes to get here before closing and ended up not getting what i wanted. starbucks will now be my main source of coffee. read more

Tried to enter to buy coffee today after my mask had broken. I was told I needed a mask and I asked if they had any paper ones. The barista said "you may not enter here without a mask!" I went out to my car and found a clean T-shirt that I tied behind my head and tucked into my shirt. This covered my face ear to ear and all the way down to my shirt. As we were walking back we saw the same barista run to each of the doors and lock them. My friend and I were somewhat confused. An older man and woman at that time we're trying to get out at which point the barista unlocked The door to let them out and then re-locked it. We asked them if they were closing to which they responded no he said he didn't wanna let the guy with the T-shirt in. They said it was funny because one of them did not have a mask at all. I have been a long time coffee bean and tea leaf customer. I was a regular at the location in Mission Valley for over a decade. I moved up to the pow Way area in June 2017. I stumbled my way in there and low and behold one of the supervisors for Mission Valley was behind the counter. She gave me a warm hug and informed me that the general manager was the assistant general manager from Mission Valley. I struck gold. The coffee shop that I had gone to For over a decade was being re-created before my very eyes LOL. OK so let's get to my review. Aside from the two women who I already knew. I have had nothing but an awesome experience with all the staff members. The place is exceptionally clean. They are incredibly accommodating to any special requests. And I know this because I'm always asking for things to be done a certain way. Alex, Christian, David, Nani, Earl, Nathaniel, Brooke, with me, Bailey, Sam, Taylor, Stephen and I know I'm leaving some people out but everybody is Super friendly and very efficient. Last but not least. Coffe Bean do you leave products are superior to Starbucks and 99% of the other coffee shops out there. So when it comes to espresso it is second to none and that's what brought me in the door in the first place over 15 years ago. read more

I went through the drive thru to order a drink and bagel with my friend who happened to work there but was off work. Immediately when i drove up to the window one of the workers, Nathaniel, said 'IM NOT GOING TO GET THE TOASTER DIRTY IM NOT GOING TO MAKE YOUR BAGEL' to my friend who was in the car! I should've taken action and called the manager but i was in total shock! I then asked the nice lady who was helping me to please make the bagel for me because i was hungry (i even said this bagel was for me, a customer, and not my friend who works there) ..but they totally ignored me! I went to this place with my classmate to study last night. This is the third time I've came here to study and I always bring food in with me. We ordered our coffee and sat down. Soon after we got our coffee one of the employees told us we had to leave because you can't bring outside food in there. This is ridiculous, they saw us come in with our food and said nothing. They waited until we ordered our coffee to tell us that we couldn't eat there so basically we paid for coffee only to be kicked out.
