Went to this coffee Bean location off Newhall Ranch Road because I was craving it. I went drive thru and ordered my drink. Once I got to the window I was asked to put a mask on or I couldn't be served. The girl who was working was wearing a mask a good distance away from me. I didn't have a mask in my car. So they wouldn't serve me. I'm positive there are a ton of ways that I could have gotten my drink during these times. I could have put my credit card on the counter and they could have charged it and put it back. The same with the drink no contact involved. I'm sitting in my low car below the counter window good distance away. It's pretty pathetic the way this location is run. If you read some of the comments below they mention the same bad experience. Good machine settings for an occasional macchiato, but my milk tends to be a bit burned almost every time. I know it can be challenging to balance the temp with whole milk, but it is very obvious when whole milk is burned because the proteins will look very stringy on the edge of the cup and not all of the milk will dissolve when mixing the drink up before consuming it. I still like getting my coffee here though. I think it might be the taste of their beans. read more

I adore this location. Not only because the have a drive thru, not only because they have the best ice-blended drinks I've ever tasted (they are the original ice-blended!), and not only because they have a great variety and even make things that aren't on the menu anymore. I adore this location because the service is ALWAYS so nice and so efficient. They are super with kids and when I order one large ice-blended for the kiddos to share, they put it into two small cups and still top each with whip and sprinkles. Our drinks are always blended perfectly (not chunky or icy, never liquid-y, always smooth and cool), and the prices are far better than what you find at the fast food joints that now want into this market. read more

Perfection!!! I was driving from Bakersfield to San Diego and I was littered falling asleep!!! I hate this feeling while driving. I googled where to go. This was off the freeway a ways but directions were fine. We were happy cuz there was a lot to eat in that area so we got food too. (Chronic tacos next door). Soooo I got a green tea ice blended and my guy got a new "matcha horchata". Bomb!! I'm sure it's full of sugar but who cares?? I don't get coffee bean often. There's not one in Bakersfield. Coffee Bean over Starbucks all day errday! I'm a coffee bean fanatic and shameless over-user of the app. My recent go to is the iced vanilla americano because it's not too sweet and it's still a punch of espresso. I also love the cold brew vanilla bean latte, it's perfect because it's a less milky/heavy latte so it's all the flavor without the guilt...which I need since I'm having it as often as a I can! My other faves are: early grey latte with soy (hot) , hazelnut and vanilla lattes (hot and iced), and a plan hazelnut nut iced coffee. I think what makes their drinks so good is the powders they use to flavor their drinks. It really makes such a difference in the quality, taste, and even texture of the drinks. I loveeee the app because I can easily choose my usual order at my local coffee bean and pick it up without having to stand in line on my way to work. Plus I can rack up points even if I decide to pay with card or credit cards the old fashioned way. In other words, not through the app. I only wish there were more locations! read more

You can never go wrong with coffee bean. Only wish there were more in AZ. This is a must stop when we gone into town.

The wrong location was closed permanently. The location by the mall should have stayed open and this location closed. I sometimes come to this coffee bean because it's closest to where I live. But every time I go I'm reminded why I usually drive farther to a different location. The service here is GARBAGE. If you want a good drink just know you'll also get a serving of heaping Garbage service with that drink. The folks working there are always rude or give off a nasty demeanor for literally no reason, it's quite baffling. A few examples: one morning I ordered via the app I walked in a minute after the time quoted in the app. No drink ready, understandable mornings are usually busy. I waited for about 10 mins before there was any acknowledgement even when I stood by the register to add something to eat with my drink. A young man finally asked if I was waiting for a Mobile I said yes and would also like to get a sandwich. I told him the name of the order and he tells me they do not have an item I asked to customize my drink. He said it's been discontinued. I had the same drink the day before. Annoyed that I waited all that time to find out my drink wasn't even being made and more annoyed that I had the option to make the selection in the app for a product that's discontinued. He asked if I wanted an alternate option I said no I would like to cancel my order. He looked shocked and upset at my request then said he would take care of it and disappeared. Five minutes later he returned saying it's been canceled and will show on my card in a day or so. Next example, same day, late evening I had finished picking up some items at the store across the way with my mother. She wanted to get a drink and also put money on my card. We walk in no greeting, grabbed a can of goodies to make coco at home and went to the register. About a minute later a young woman finally said we'll be helped in a minute. When she comes over we let her know that we would like to add money to my card first. She says condescendingly, it can only be done through the app that we would have to add the card to the app and add it that way. I told her no I've done this before. She keeps going about she personally has never seen it done that way and insists it has to be done via the app. Not to argue with ignorance, I left. It upset me. It literally made zero sense. So if I walked in with cash and asked to add it to my card it could not be added? Furthermore essentially what the card is on the app is a digital gift card. So what she was expressing is she's not trained to work the register because she doesn't know how to add funds to a gift card. And was rude for her lack of knowledge of the job, to make matters worse she did not even bother asking a fellow associate because in her mind she knows personally how it's done. I ended up going to the other location and at first was given the same has to be done through the app but before I said anything she asked someone, he came over to help and said it's done like a gift card. All I could do is laugh. So with that I am officially done with this coffee bean. A staff overhaul needs to be done at this location including management for not ensuring their staff is sufficiently trained for service. read more

I am not a huge Starbucks fan and the fact that I have to drive an hour to get the closest Coffee Bean location (this specific location) saddens me because the coffee and other drinks here blow away Starbucks by a landslide. This location is close to Interstate 5 and is usually a spot for me to get some coffee on the way back home through the Grapevine. It's one of the few Coffee Beans (from my knowledge) that has a drive-thru so that's really convenient. I usually get the hot hazelnut latte or any of the ice blended drinks. O..M...G... so good! You can really taste the difference here as the coffee is much smoother and not so bitter like the other places. I also really like their nitro brews and their unsweetened peach iced tea. Sooo good! You really can't go wrong here with any of the drinks. My only small complaint with The Coffee Bean is the lack of variety of pastries, but what I have had is usually pretty good. I have been here right before closing time several times and the baristas are usually very nice and whip up that coffee quickly! The Coffee Bean is one of my favorite spots to get some good coffee that is not the ubiquitous Starbucks. It's a shame my hometown doesn't have one, because I'd be all over it if I could! This location is convenient because its technically the closest to me and helps me get through drives up the mountain. Like any other Coffee Bean, this place is recommended! Great coffee! read more

Unfortunately, I am a bit of a coffee snob and good coffee in the SCV is hard to come by unless you hand drip it yourself. With that said, I'm rating this CBTL in comparison to other similar companies and other CBTL's. Surprisingly, the mocha peppermint latte that I had today was the right temperature. Not scalding hot, but warm enough to take full sips and enjoy the coffee. I was impressed by the accuracy and speed of the drive through. When I want a quick, decent cup of coffee, I'll definitely be coming here. read more

As a franchise, CB&TL can be a little unwieldy. Their employee training standards aren't where they should be and they have that horrible practice of serving to-go cappuccinos at a tongue-scalding temperature. The coffee snob in me will let you know that steaming the milk that hot compromises the structure of the foam, but you may have noticed that already. It's hard to forget too - take a sip too early and you won't taste anything for two days. Even so, they serve better than average coffee and espresso drinks and they have not sold out to superautomatic machines, and it shows. They have a decent retail coffee offering too, and while Peet's it is not, if you insist on some of their own fresh-roasted beans (instead of the bags on the counter) you'll do quite well for yourself. I'm making my way through a pound of their espresso roast and while it won't replace my standard Intelligentsia espresso beans, it is a solid option when I want something local, but mellower than Peet's. I am typically a go-to Starbucks person, primarily because I've already learned their menu thoroughly enough to adjust my drinks to my liking. However, on the few times I've been to CBTL, I've been extremely happy with my drinks. When I asked if they had something along the lines of a green tea latte (trying to not hold up the drive through by searching for it on the menu) I was told "what type of green tea?". I was so pleasantly surprised there was more than one type! Delicious (Starbucks might do their tazo teas as tea lattes, but they leave the tea bags in, and it gets slightly inconvenient when driving). Came in on a super rainy Thursday around 4:30 pm there was only 2 employees working. A guy and a blonde girl, they weren't insanely busy but did have customers in both drive thru and inside (us). I must say running a coffee shop with just 2 people must not be easy but they were still both incredibly nice, fast and made our drinks to perfection. My husband and I have been to coffee shops with staff overflowing and still manage to get terrible customer service. Nice to get quite the opposite here! I hope the manager recognizes these 2 employees for their hard work and delightful attitudes through these rough times. read more

Made an account just to report my mess of an experience. My girlfriend and I went in around 1:20 this afternoon and the place was practically empty. We ordered a large black coffee and a large sweetened tea. He tells us, "There is sweetener over there..." We wait for around 3 minutes while the barista (I use that term lightly) chats up his coworkers in front of the pick up spot. When my gf gets her drink and goes to add liquid sweetener, they are out. I interrupt the barista's convo to let him know and hand him the sweeteners. No clue where those sweeteners went but we never saw them again... After 15 minutes of watching customers come and go, employees starting and ending convos with one another, I ask about my coffee. blank stares. Then the guy who took our order comes over and pours me a black coffee from the pot next to the register. Basically my perception... poor service, unprofessional, and an overall aloof attitude. Took far too long to pour two (premade!) drinks. I won't go back... don't expect them to make you a drink with more than one ingredient. read more

It's always something at this location i swear. Workers are not professional you can tell it's only a job for them. The customer service is really not what it should be considering how much you pay! So close to my house and I love the coffee but I would rather drive the extra time and go to a different store where I am treated right. Great little hideaway for book lovers and tablet junkies. Plenty of parking and fast service. The seating inside is a bit limited but there are tables outside. I always look forward to an opportunity to stop in here and read or do some work on the laptop. One thing I really love about Coffee Bean is the decaf ice coffee. Sometimes you want your fix without the caffeine and they hook you up. If you are lucky enough to grab a cranberry breakfast bar, you will have your little bit of heaven right here in Santa Clarita! I never recommend the drive-thru at coffee shops because they tend to take a little longer so just park in front and walk in. read more

Which is better, Coffee Bean or Starbucks? I think they've both got their merits, but Coffee Bean has a better tea selection in my opinion. They're also slightly cheaper! It's got the usual coffee shop accouterments, mugs, pastries, coffee and tea to brew at home. This location also has the added benefit of having a drive thru. It's also not in the mall (like the other closest Coffee Bean in the Valley), so it's easier to get to during this crazy holiday season. The staff here are very friendly as well and they get their orders out faster than the other one! All in all this is a good place to get our caffeine fix! read more

We were in town visiting family from Seattle... The coffee Mecca of the world! In Washington we have little coffee stands all over the place, like on every corner. Good local coffee. I was surprised in California you really had two options. Starbucks or The Coffee Bean. Although Washington state has roughly a billion Starbucks, real coffee drinkers do not enjoy their brew! So we passed on Starbucks and head to The Coffee Bean! Coffee was awesome! 100 times better than sbux! My only complaint was we rolled through the drive thru about 830 on a Friday morning and they were literally out of almost every breakfast item! That was disappointing. Other than that, the taste was great in both my husbands and my drink and the service was friendly. We will return if we are in town again! read more

I love coffee bean. :) If you like hazelnut flavored drinks you have to taste the chocolate hazelnut blended drink. It is delish!! It's not too sweet at all even with the chocolate flavor. They need to keep this flavor. :) I also like how they have the peppermint mocha blended and late now. I have something to look forward too around the holiday seasons. One thing they need to keep all year long is their hazelnut powder. I would like to be able to buy just the hazelnut powder by itself without having to buy it as a package with the other flavors. read more

I would give a zero rating if possible. Waited too long in drive they and finally got up to the window and the lady asked me to put on a mask. I'm in my truck plenty far from her, she was wearing a mask, there's absolutely no reason for me to be wearing a mask in my car. We are at the tail end of the pandemic and this company is still treating their customers this way? That is absolutely ridiculous. I had a mask in my car, but there's no reason for me to be wearing a mask in my car. There's a reason I go through drive-through and it's so I don't have to put a mask on. So I left without getting my drink, went To Starbucks down the street who does NOT require masks in the DRIVE THRU because they're not idiots, and gave them a fat tip for simply not being ignorant like this company.
