Three of us came here on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend prepared to wait. And we did wait, a little more than an hour but we weren't upset about it. You can order drinks while you wait! It's the perfect morning cafe feel and style. Everything seemed reasonably priced and portion sizes were good. Service was acceptable but again they were packed and turning and burning. No time for chit chat! Started with an amazing cinnamon roll and the three of us had a fork fight for the last bite! The "short on cash" is hilarious and perfect for a light eater and cheap! First time here definitely coming back again - although maybe not on a Saturday because we did have to wait about 45 minutes for a table but the people watching was great. This pace is great! The space is quirky and fun, with surfboards and water skis adorning the walls and ceiling. The food is really good with large portions. Day one was a thirty minute wait for a table. Day two (Saturday morning) was only a ten minute wait. This place is touted as having great breakfasts, and obviously, since we returned two days in a row, we had no complaints. Although there wasn't a dish to rave about, and between the four of us, we had eight different breakfasts, I can't say there was any one dish that stood out. I like to find a good breakfast spot where we might roam into, and this was on my "must try" list forever ago, so when I finally woke up early one morning after my sister offered a good spot- we gave this place a shot. I had high expectations for The Coffee Cup since my family members love it there, and speak highly of the food. The coffee cups were neat, each diner who had coffee had one of their signature cups in different colors, which I felt was a nice touch to the place. We were seated right in the front of the restaurant, which was a good view of the place, the staff and the diners waiting outside to eat. It is sort of a small, sfamily feel restaurant that provides you individual creamers, sugar packets, and syrup in a squeeze bottle. I was willing to sit in front of the restaurant and put my nerves aside because I was expecting to be blown away, and to be taken to another flavor world. I ordered the hangover, and everyone else got different dishes that seemed good off the menu. I tried my dad's chile verde omelette, their cinnamon roll, the waffle, sausages, bacon, the short stacks pancakes, the plain jane, and the ribeye and eggs. For a cafe that is "world famous", I expected the flavor to be out of the world and it was not. Everything I tasted was very plain, my gravy needed more flavor, and the omelettes, steak, pancakes were not anything that would make me want to go back. The restaurant was busy, but the food was coming out quick to every table, so that was a plus. The service was okay. We had plenty of offers for coffee refills from the staff, but had to ask multiple times for napkins because they seemed to give us about 3 with the dishes they brought, and the servers were not friendly. We have experienced other servers asking if we'd been there before, or even attempting to suggest their favorites or popular dishes on the menu and our server came once to ask for our drinks, then came to ask for the order. She checked on us once after we got the food, and then to bring the check. They were not over friendly, or didn't try to make a conversation to seem friendly or helpful. The decor is old pictures of people, either around town, the owner(s) family, vets and etc. There is also a big picture of Guy Fieri who made an appearance there, maybe when it was in its glory. I left sad from The Coffee Cup, I don't know if maybe there was another dish I should have tried, or maybe there was a disconnect with the staff and guests- or just us since we didn't get much talk from them at all besides them asking if we were ready, okay, or us asking for things we needed form them. First, I can not say enough about the service. They worked out an amazing system of greeters, dining room managers, servers so you are always taken care of. They even have a place to get drinks (even non-Alcoholic ones like milk and soda) while you wait. Now the food: the hangover--biscuits, sausage, sausage gravy, eggs and cheese....SOOOO good. I added a some pepper because that is my tastebuds but 10/10 Chili cheese dog burrito (featured on diners dives and drive ins) was so good it you like chili cheese dogs...one piece of advice...leave out the jalapeños if you don't like spicy and forget the bacon as it made it hard to eat and didn't really add anything. 9/10 Cheeseburger. Solid decent Cheeseburger. They have been featured on Diners Drive in's and dives as well as Good morning America, and for good reason. The restaurant has a cute old hometown feel to it, and their menu is wonderful with plenty of options, I usually go with huevos rancheros or their papa con chili verde which is one of their featured dishes on food network but today I went with the breakfast tacos, which were the perfect portion, you get 3 corn tortilla tacos filled with eggs, bacon, pico, cilantro, potatoes, cheese and a side of salsa, the flavor was great and the chipotle mayo on top is a nice flavor to the tacos. The coffee cup is always busy but they have a bunch of seating outside while you wait for your table and the wait usually never seems to be more than 15 minutes which is absolutely worth it. read more

Back again! Boulder City is such a fun town to shop and look around in and has such great places to grab a bite. We brought out of state friends to enjoy The Coffee Cup. Just like last time we were told 30 minutes and it ended up an hour wait. Once we got to our table we still had a ten minute wait for a runner for drinks before we ever saw our server. I knew there were long waits so I told my company before so they would expect it. We did go in and grab a Bloody Mary to enjoy while we waited. It was very strong. There was no skimping on the alcohol. It was good and had an olive, celery, and bacon strip to top it off. While looking at the menu we asked the runner what she liked & she said she was vegetarian so she wasn't a good person to ask. You can tell someone you are vegetarian but always give a hands up to a dish. Our table ordered breakfast tacos and the pork Chili omelette with pancakes which where recommended by our server. We also got the huevos rancheros and Bomb Fries. I think the Bomb fries were my favorite thing. There were large chunks of pork in the green chili and the fries are seasoned and crispy and crunchy but soft in the inside. Onions were chopped and raw on top and cheese and jalapeños. My pork Chili omelette was the same which large pieces of pork and it was very tender. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Huevos Rancheros was good also. The home fries are killer! It took us a while to flag someone down for ketchup and we constantly had to flag someone down for refills on our drinks but other than that our experience was good. We still love the food. I think the servers were getting tired as it was a constant steam of customers and wait even up to 1:30pm when we were leaving. Coffee Cup is a great place. If you don't mind waiting you will enjoy a restaurant cooked meal that tastes like home. read more
