Last night was our 3rd visit here. Our first was in July of 08 and we couldn't have been happier with everything about The Coliseum. Great menu and a nice equivalent to a Dave and Busters without the drive. Shoot forward to Oct. of 09 and the place looks the same but that's where everything else stopped. A once 4 page menu is down to a single sheet of paper with some pretty terrible selections on it. Our server was terrible, no bartender on staff in the restaurant, and slow service even though we were one of three tables in the entire place. One more try last night led to more of the same, this time one of two tables, forgotten food, and at 8 p.m. the manager closed the main doors and roped off the entrance. Talk about feeling rushed. Our waitress decided to add a 18% gratuity to our check for good measure as well? Classy. I'll be going in again but simply because I spent money on a game card that now has $20 on it, I'll take my daughter for some games, but we'll be skipping any dinner at what once was a nice place to eat. read more

Total let down. Got to the alley today with the wife and son for a little birthday bowling action. We arrived to 4 of the 12 lanes open. Guy at the counter told me there were no league games and should be 10 mins. Gave me an Applebee's-style pager and we grabbed a drink in the bar area. 20 mins past and same 4 lanes are open with 2 more joining them. Guy at the counter working on shoe cleanup. Did not see anyone else standing around waiting when we got here or join us since. 15 more mins, same 6 lanes open. Went up to counter with pager. Counter guy looked at me then went back to doing some busywork. Guess he wasn't interested in waiting on customers. I set down my pager on the counter and turned to leave. As we walked up the stairs, he grabbed it and put it away. What kind of company allows 1/3-1/2 of its tables/lanes/whatever sit idle and customers leave? Not impressed. Will find elsewhere to give my money. read more

Horrid. Plz stay away at all costs. Im from out of town and wish I hasn't gone. Scam - free $5 card is a lie. NO fine print, so coupons are taken at face value. Free means free. Well no. $1 activation fee lol.. ok whatever. I paid n got $4 card. Woohoo.. Games - I was in a time warp.from the 90s. Games are dated. Shooting games aren't calibrated correctly. Screens mostly off center n not colored right. I grew up in 80s n this was just a weird arcade.. Cost - I asked the idiotic cashier who lied to me 'most games cost 5'. Its a lie. Most are 8+. And all of them are way way over priced!! Omg... so over priced. Cleanliness - carpet was new and no trash found anywhere. It wqs saturday midday and kinda empty nut it was super clean. Prizes - whoa. So over priced.. and I go to save n busters as well as to the beach several times a year n this was just a rip off with price costs. And the prize qualities were beyond chincy. Mind blown how word hasn't gotten out. This reviewer knows his arcades, ticket games, prizes n etc... just avoid this place. read more

5 Stars doesn't do justice to describe our experience. Had my Husband's surprise 40th birthday party here and despite having to reschedule and restructure the party thanks to snow, the staff went above and beyond to make the night top notch and work with last minute rescheduling- without penalizing me or asking for more money. From the very beginning, Gina was so wonderful with her help planning and coordinating. Due to snow, ended up having to host in the semi private area in the restaurant instead of the private room which I was initially upset about- but I'm so happy with where we had it. Staff was STELLAR- Holly was the absolute sweetest and so incredibly accommodating. The area was gorgeous and worked out perfectly. One of the most important parts- the food. We did the pit buffet with pulled pork, brisket, and sides. I truly can't say how amazing the food was. We were SO surprised at the quality and taste. The party was weeks ago and guests are still talking about it. Seriously can't say enough about how delicious every single thing was. Embarrassed to say I originally looked into Dave N Busters where quality of customer service, food, experience is non existent. Let's Play! That's their motto, and play play play is what you can do! Two dollar draft beers all day every day makes it a little easier to cope with how much you'll be parting with playing game after game after game. The games aren't cheap - but they're super fun and well worth it. If you're into football they have like 9348039 screens of the same game. There's also food, bowling, all kinds of good stuff. So the beers are no longer all $2 a pint, but they do still have a decent selection. They have a lot of food deals going on now, one of which I can vouch for is the 10 cent wing Thursdays, amazing! Do not go here. A group of 5 of us went, and we waited over an hour for wings, pizza, and quesadillas. The wings were cold, I had to wait an extra 20 mins for the pizza which came out w/out pepperoni, but I was charged for them. Our waitress never checked on us, and we had to ask another waitress for to go boxes. We tried to go bowling, but was told there was an hour wait when there were at least 4 open lanes. If I could give it a half star I would. Contacted Ragini prior to having a birthday party there. She said she'd have everything set up. We get there with a big group and nothing was done. Manager knew nothing. We scraped together our own tables. Not enough servers, bartenders sucked. Service was incredibly slow. Waiting an hour for food. I came here for bowling on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm. It was an empty but it also wasn't super crowded. The lanes are set up so that you share a space with the adjacent Lane. This makes it a good option if you have a large group but also if you have smaller set up and you're looking to meet new people around the area this gives you that option. They also have a bar in the bowling alleys that you can grab a drink and then go have to go back and sit down. They had a decent number of ball sizes with varying finger holes so there was no trouble finding a bowling ball to use. Games are about $5 per person per game which isn't terrible. I had a fun time but it wasn't necessarily anything spectacular. read more

It looks promising from the outside and the inside, the bar and the "What if....West" café looked clean and inviting. The café is sectioned and closed off so your ears don't have to be subjected to the arcade and bar chaos. The café and the bar aren't close to each other they are actually on different levels of the building. The arcade. The only reason we came here was to play games.....too bad about 35% of the 20 games were broken. Womp womp. In order to play the games you have purchase a game card which has a $1 activation charge. Just to give an idea of pricing 20 tokens were $5 and 150 tokens were $25. The card is plastic and reusable so it's great if you plan to return. We went on a Friday night after 8:30. There were approx. 8 people in the arcade section including a me and my boyfriend and a family of three, 7 people inside the café including the staff approx. 5 lost souls outside smoking and about 5 people at the bar. This might be 'poppin' for this area but it seemed empty to me. Considering all the options this isn't bad for a one stop shop if you are looking for something to do. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. We had a large group that was mishandled from the start to the finish in the absolute worst way. It was not busy when we got there but they still managed to mess up the orders, the drinks, EVERYTHING. The runners and bartender didn't care. Couldn't get TVs changed, it took 70 minutes (from 1st item to last) for all the food to come out and 2 of the orders got lost. The waitress then took 45 minutes to print the bills and they were never right. The arcade was nice but service at the counter was horrible. Small groups or hanging at the bar seems like it would work, but big groups or anything that requires customer service is probably not happening. read more

I've given this place a few chances, but they really can't deliver a great experience. The first time I visited, my friend and I decided to bowl for a little while. I looked around and saw that half of the lanes were out of order (never a good sign). We played for a bit, all of a sudden out lane started setting 1-2 pins at a time, and eventually stopped setting them. We waited around 10 minutes at most for the attendant to fix it, and finished our game. During the game we had ordered nachos, which took about 20-25 minutes to come out. We then moved up to the arcade, spent about $25 on a game card, which lasted about 2 seconds. The cost to play games is ridiculous, here. We played a light gun game for a bit, a basketball game, and a racing game. That card drained quick, and we left. The next time, we decided to bowl again, and play some pool. Bowling was fine, and our server was fast and courteous. The pool tables are super close together, so forget about playing comfortably on a Friday night. They appeared to have 1 rack for four tables, as well. This place just isn't worth it. Central PA needs a real entertainment center, not a third rate Dave and Busters. read more

Since my first review, the company has changed owners, and struggled waiting for almost a year to regain it's liquor license. I am happy to say they are back to full operation, and starting to recover their reputation which faltered over the struggling time. Perhaps the days of renting them tents is behind us, but I am sure we will bring a dance floor and other special items over time read more

I was here for a company function. The people very very attentive. My husband and I went for dinner 1 week later. The special menu listed the special was .60 wings. We ordered 6. When the bill came we were charged $9.99. I questioned the charge & was told that was only for dozen. I showed the special menu to the waitress & she asked the kitchen. She came back & said that was only for 12. I pointed out to her that the menu did NOT specify that. She said "Hopefully they will correct that." It wasn't her fault. So I could have gotten 12 wings for $7.20, but got 6 for $9.99?For that reason, despite the food being okay, I probably won't go back or recommend it to friends. read more

The Coliseum is a tough place to review.. there are so many components to the place. Think of it like a Dave and Busters.. a family entertainment facility with arcade games that give tickets for prizes, a bar, a restaurant, a bowling alley and pool tables. There is something for everybody. On my last visit, we were with our kids and ate food in the bar downstairs and then went upstairs to play games. I found the food to be good. I ordered a cheesesteak, which really can vary in quality from place to place. I was impressed. The roll was a little crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside and the meat was seasoned well with onions and melted cheddar cheese. It came with homemade potato chips which I didn't care for that much.. they were a little oily tasting but not terrible. My wife had a burger which she really enjoyed as well. The kids had food off the kids menu.. a pizza and hot dog which they really seemed to like. After food we went up to the gaming area. The games here are pretty good.. they have a decent selection of things for the kids and they give out a fair amount of tickets for wins. You purchase credits which are loaded on a card which is better than carrying around a bunch of tokens. Each game does seem to use a lot of credits so I think pricing could be better there. The prize selection is ok... better than what you get at boardwalk arcades but not as good as Dave and Busters. Overall this is a good place to come on a Friday night to shoot pool with the guys or to bring the kids on a Sunday afternoon for some games. Not impressed!! We sat more than 20 minutes for a server to even come over; only after my son got up and ask for menus. The food is alright but I don't know if I'd waste my time buying anything 4. Don't pay for games, you'll drop your whole pocket. You'd have better luck leaving your wallet on the counter and hoping for someone to steal it . That way you'd have spent about the same amount as you would have had you had your wallet. The place could get shut down at any moment so expect the unexpected. Since the place has been open they've been fined numerous times in regards to their liquor license issues and almost had to shut down at one point due to lack of funds. read more

Terrible service and lousy attitude from the bottom floor sport bar waitresses. Wife and I ordered wings and sandwich, we waited for least half hour. Ordered lemonade and we got tap water with a piece of lemon inside. Wings were very dry for the past five times we've been coming. We ordered brisket sandwich but got the pulled pork instead. So we brought it to the waitress attention. The waitress tried to correct me and gave us an attitude. Instead of offering an alternative or something else she just walked off all pissed, spoke to the bartender and then threw the sandwich in the trash right next to us then continued ignoring us. Very very bad customer service and food is no good. Please do not come to this place if you're looking for at least an average or decent service. Food is terrible and service is below average. I think this place is fun, a great place for parents to bring their kids or a good first date kinda place or just to hang out with friends and actually do something instead of just sitting on a bar stool with a drink. And it's even more affordable when you can double your points on a game card all summer, with a VIP card, just ask at the game desk. The bowling is fun and if you go on a week night it isn't as crowded and I think its cheaper too. Anyways, more fun than the bowling alleys. The place is clean and the service is great. They have a lot of beers on tap, 20 I think and if you are upstairs you can have your server bring you a beer from downstairs too. And they have .99 drafts every weeknight, so you can even get a Guinness for .99, that is a good deal! My favorite is the Seafood pizza, which is the Old Bay crab pizza with shrimp on it. The Angus burgers are the best too! And the Garlic and Herb wings are excellent, I tried to re-create them at home, close but still theirs are better. I have been to the Coliseum many times since I first went there a year ago and I love it. There are always deals and coupons to make it affordable too. read more

Didn't even bat an eye after it only filled my glass half way. He mopped it off the floor right in front of us and didn't even mention it. My Boyfriend and I decided to go here around 6 o'clock on a Saturday evening. I'll narrow down this review in an orderly fashion for you folks: Pros-the arcade is diverse, spacious, and has a good selection of games. It wasn't too crowded, either. Also, it's nice to continue proving to my Boyfriend that my basketball skills are out of this world and he'll never beat me. Cons-don't eat in the restaurant! The food was horrible. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad-I'm a bit particular, so I asked the waitress to hold the tomatoes (not sure why there would be tomatoes on this salad) and croûtons. My Boyfriend ordered the Popcorn Shrimp and Fry basket. Pretty simple, huh? Needless to say, my salad comes back stocked with tomatoes and croûtons. I decided not to make a fuss at this point. So, I tried my salad and the dressing tasted like pure mayonnaise and pepper! The most foul thing I've ever stuck in my mouth. So, we didn't see the waitress for about 15-20 minutes (longest smoke break I've ever heard of). When she came back she wasn't even going to inquire why I hadn't eaten any of the salad and pushed it to the side. Instead, I had to explain to her the lousy taste and poor service I experienced and politely asked that the salad be removed from the bill. Well, 15 minutes later we receive the bill. She removed the salad, but not the chicken, which I asked for additionally. So, after this horrible experience the Boyfriend and I decided to unwind with some DDR! After three rounds, I went to check the time on my cell phone. Needless to say-no cell phone. Panic had set in! I went back into the restaurant and asked the Hostess if anyone had found a phone. She smirked and reached into her pocket and handed me my phone? I'm not exactly sure why she had my phone in her pocket and my email application was open? Hm. Anyway, I didn't mean to rant and rave, but I've had better experiences at this place. This was the first time we chose to eat here. Will never go back. Some friend and I went for their all-you-can-eat crab legs. Two of us ordered the crab legs, the other ordered steamed shrimp. Some of the crab legs came out completely cold. And our melted butter was not so warm, but separated (clear on top, yellow below). I tried to mix the butter a bit but it wouldn't even mix. Our waitress also did not give us any crab claw crackers. We had to ask for them and we were given an excuse that she didn't think they had many. Why would you NOT have these if you are advertising AYCE crab legs? Our friend who ordered the steamed shrimp specifically asked that they are served warm. When her shrimp came, they were served warm in a bucket with ice at the bottom! Finally, my second round of crab legs came out and with no butter at all. We all thought the service was horrible and so was the food. read more

This place has changed since the last time I was here. The hot wings weren't close to being mild, the orders were wrong even though we were the only people here. The checks had the tips on there which expected with a group of 10, but there was also a service charge that is tacked on. They also do not have a liquor license which is bad for a sports bar. When you first walk in, looks like a blast. The fun, colorful, loud environment you'd expect from an arcade, bar, and bowling alley. Then you start playing and realize it's fairly shitty. It's under new management (again), and they're not very friendly, helpful, or sociable. On top of that, a lot of things don't operate as they should. There are 2 guitar hero games for 2 players...one's missing a guitar. We played the shooting game House of the Dead 4, the crosshairs weren't aligned properly with the sensor, so the gun didn't shoot where you aimed...the player 2 gun not hitting the screen at all when aimed right at it. We asked about getting the chips refunded to our card, they don't do refunds. I asked "Even if a game didn't work right?", so, rather than refund, the guy behind the counter sends a guy over to reset the game and realign the guns and sensor. The man then turns on a free game for us and tests the game, getting player 2 hit to one life left and player 1 to 2 lives left...then steps back and hands us the guns. I ask if he can reset it so we can play, he smiles and nods and gestures us to the game. So yeah, our free replay was not handled well. Ski ball, didn't get all 9 balls, guy comes over, crappy fix again, get jipped again. Bowling alley...our lane had to be reset at least 5 times in 2 games because the pins frequently did not reset to a full 10. Ordered a beer from a waitress serving the lanes, first one came quickly, ordered a 2nd after...never came, in like 30 min time. She was passing us as we were leaving the lane to return our shoes and came to speak to me....with no beer in hand. It seems to me the manager and his technician didn't actually even speak English very well. Also seems the man who appeared to be the guy in charge, probably the/one of the owners, doesn't care about that particular business either. They didn't understand that they jipped us by costing us lives in a video game. They don't seem to care about games and quality service and entertainment...I get the impression they just see dollars signs. So, overall, fun if you're laid back and have low standards and just wanna hit up an arcade and do some bowling. I enjoyed the games I played, which is what bumped it up to 2 stars. But, terrible service: slow, unfriendly, not very helpful. And games in disrepair. Oh, and the food isn't priced very well, not a very large menu, and not nearly enough bar/bowling alley appetizer/snack selections. read more

Mix a bar, bowling alley, arcade, and a restaurant together and the Coliseum is what you end up with. The place is pretty huge but they have the different areas split up pretty well. The bar prices seemed pretty reasonable, especially the drafts for $1 since they were half off on a Saturday night. The one disappointing thing was the waitress. She was not very attentive to our table yet seemed to have plenty of time to chat with the other waitresses standing near the bar. I think this place could be pretty fun if you go with the right people. If given the chance, I might check it out again. read more

Honestly, I love this place for there reasonable bowling & beer prices. The wings are pretty good, personal fave is the Thai chili. I'm not fond of the game area upstairs ... In my opinion it's not as kid friendly as they may have you believe. It's a bit pricy on the games, and you may possibly break the bank. My husband and I were having a fun time playing arcade games. (After a day of a skiing where I managed to severely sprain my ankle.) I had ordered 2 drinks from the bar on the lower floor and when I went to order my third (and last) drink I was told that the manager told the bartender not to serve me anymore. I have NEVER had that happen before and I was NOT drunk. Due to my ankle I had a boot on, maybe that caused them to judge me? My husband and I had taken a cab from our hotel and I know that next time we go to Roundtop to ski we will NOT go to the Coliseum ever again. read more

This place was majorly underwhelming. Rolling up to the bar for happy hour we waited about 8-10 minutes for anyone to come to the bar and the place was empty. However, once the bartender was there, she was great! But that was where the greatness ended. The happy hour pricing was too good to be true. And that it was. The "nachos" were basically a handful of tortilla chips with a baby amount of cheese on top. The pizza was decent, and I would probably just get that if I were to go again. The potato skins were okay but overall pretty bland. Then, the bowling... half of the lanes were broken and we had multiple lane issues throughout our game. The pricing is per person so for five people for two rounds it came out to about $47. I don't think I'll be a repeat customer, but I did enjoy myself since we basically had the place to ourselves, but the reason behind the emptiness was well understood. Here is the deal. This place used to have quality beer for $2 a pint. Now their beers are the typicals, your coors, miller, bud, old milwaukee, etc. They used to have Sam Adams, Newcastle, Troegs. So there drink deal is not any better than those downtown. Their food is overpriced for the quality. Cool atmosphere. Poor service. So overall I cant say its horrible, but for sure its not great. read more

How do you not have enough pool cues? Waited an hour for a table just to hand the balls back because the didn't have a single available pool stick. Two people were nice enough to offer us one of theirs, but still not okay. Also busy bar, all 25-30 seats filled, happy hour, Friday night, servers needing drinks, 1 bartender..... she did a very good job, always with a smile, but overall poorly managed! Not co operative when we asked about beer specials...told us she did not have time to go over all the choices so my friend had to go up to the bar tender to find out the specials. We really should have called corporate on her but we didn't want her to loose her job....aweful!!! I have done waitressing in my past so I KNOW you are NOT supposed to treat customers the way we were. Wings were ok, they took a long time to come out, kinda dry when we got them but we were having a Girls Night Out so we made the best of it.
