Our cousins had free tickets so we came here spontaneously on a Friday night. We had great seats, on the aisle but several rows back. The front row is always intimidating at a comedy show unless you love to interact with the comedians and/or get picked on. So middle or back is terrific. We ordered our first round of drinks and our food. Food came out pretty quickly but we didn't get drinks until much, much later. Apparently the bartender was having a meltdown, literally - it was super hot that night and they were short staffed. I lucked out with the best dinner choice - Shortrib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Wow, it was so decadent and delicious! And huge! I could have easily split it with someone but I'm a pig so I ate it all. My husband and cousins got Buffalo Wings ($16), Short Rib Tacos ($16), Rib Eye Steak Bites ($18) and Shrooms Pizza ($20). FYI the mushroom pizza had truffle oil on it, which is not mentioned on the menu. Now - the comedians - there were about 12 of them. It was kind of like an open mic night. Each one has a short set which was good and bad. If they weren't that funny, it was good. We stayed until the end and it was pretty late, the chairs started to feel super hard after a few hours. There were two comedians that were "laugh out loud" funny and they were both over 70 years old. The rest were a chuckle here and there. I definitely would go again because the food is great and any kind of live entertainment is better than staying home and watching Netflix.

Menu is accessible by QR code sticker on table. If you require help you turn the little battery operated tea light on.

First time at this venue. Definitely has the retro look and reminds me of the spots in the Valley of the 80's. Arrived early to eat before the 7:30 show. We had reservations and used a code online to get free tickets. There is a two drink minimum. The hostess Alona was very nice at the front door. We showed our QR codes from our smart phones and she seated us right away. You know I always have a unique perspective being plus size and tonight was no different. The seats were very tight. We were a party of 4 and I sat with my friend at a tiny round bistro table on old school banquet style chairs. It was REALLY tight seating like Coach seats on an airplane. We arrived at approximately 6:50 for the 7:30 show and we ordered our food. They had a QR code sticker in the table which is pretty standard these days but not great if you have no reception. I did like the little tea light that we were supposed to use to let the wait staff that we needed attention vs. waiving or yelling during the show. Our servers was Becky and Emily was shadowing here. They were both very nice and accommodating . I ordered two Ginger-ale's with no ice, and order of sweet potato fries and a margarita pizza to share. I figured those were safe and relatively easy to eat since I could hardly move. My fries came out first and they were good. It was another 15 min before my pizza came out and the entire bottom was burnt. I sent it back and the replacement pizza was better but still charred. I only had half of one slice. I ate all my fries. There were other items on the menu but again difficult to eat the way I was sitting. I was hungry and should have ate before I left. The show started an hour late around 8:30pm but I tried not to get annoyed and I ended up really enjoying the show. The comics were all really, really amazing. The MC Tara O'Brien was great too. Some comics looked very familiar from TV and movies. We must have seen 15 comics. It was non-stop laughs. My face hurt from laughing so much. The show ended at around 10:45pm Located on main street. Plenty of free parking next door. All Staff was very nice and accommodating. Themed decor and fun atmosphere. Would recommend as a great spot for date nights, birthdays, small groups, would not bring kids/teens. (Even though there is no age limit) Not all the comics are clean but there were about 6 or so that didn't use profanity. I look forward to going back I just may eat before I go to a show. The two drink minimum is standard at most comedy clubs.

Amid the big strike (SAG + writers!) we came to this comedy club for the first time. Seemed like half of the people in the audience were actors! But we were just glad that the show could go on and that we could be here to SUPPORT the performers!! Small venue - all seats are close to the stage so you get to experience the comedian's' performance closeup! Two drinks minimum and their drinks were reasonably priced. Full menu restaurant here but we didn't know so did not try their food. Food orders do not count towards the drink minimum. We came to see the very talented Peter Chew, whose political satires were poignant and hilarious! He is also a great cartoonist whose style is reminiscent of the good old New Yorker cartoons. But all the comedians were talented in their own ways! So so glad to see many women and POC performers here. All of them engaging and great acts! Overall a great way to spend a fun evening. Free parking at the bank garage right next door. Will definitely come back again!

I went for the comedy show. It was great. I gave them 3 stars because of something I ordered. I ain't no cheap person when it comes to going out, but this made me say,WTF. I ordered some coconut shrimp. Yall, why the hell they bring me 4 shrimp for $15. Not no jumbo shrimp, 4 small basic ass shrimp split in half. Then they tried to place it on some funky lettuce/greens with some nasty sauce. Go look at the picture posted. I can't. I will return for the comedy, but I definitely won't be buying that again. Smh

At the comedy spot!!! The comedians were hilarious. The drinks were spot on - I recommend the "Heckler"!! The steak and fries were made to perfection. I was too impressed with the ambiance, comedians and the food. The wait staff was amazing and attentive. I would definitely come back for laughs and food!!

The show was good, I left early when a comic was joking about being a registered sex offender and how he got his wife as a little girl in China and the day after his wedding night he played golf with his wife's father. I wasn't amused. Nonetheless the waitresses were great.

Above average food for a bar/comedy place. We got the truffle fries, steak pizza , and chicken skewers. There is also a two drink minimum for the comedy show. We came on a free comedy night with a rotation of comics, and while most comics were kinda meh funny , Jimmy Brogan made me laugh cry so it was worth it just to see him. Overall the experience was enjoyable and a great place for a date night, girls night out, or just for entertainment after a long week of work. There is also free parking at the bank next to the chateau and that is definitely a huggggeee plus in LA!

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

Their Monday night karaoke was going on simultaneously and the sound didn't interfere with our screening at all. Tickets: You can pre-purchase tickets on Eventbrite Food: We had brunch so you really can't go wrong with breakfast food, however, the food was yummy. Especially the cinnamon rolls. The bottomless mimosa is worth it if you have a few people with you. Service: Now I'm going to assume service was a bit slow b/c of the drag show being packed however, we had a great server! Ambiance: When you walk into the Idle Hour, you're immediately transported into a dark brewery. So cool. Plenty of space for groups. Parking: street parking, not sure if they have a lot behind the venue. So Go, Enjoy & have a Drag-tastic time!!

The people who work here: all kind and helpful and on top of their stuff. This place gets really packed sometimes but even in the chaos, when customers are rude and drunk and break things they keep their cool, always. But don't treat them poorly. I will come for you. Chard is the GM and he is one of the kindest and most generous humans I have had the pleasure of know and is the mastermind behind getting the themed nights up and going. His ability to make a person feel welcome is pretty much unmatched in my opinion. The food: omg you guys the FOOD!!!! It's so good. They just changed the menu so I haven't gotten to try everything yet but the chicken dumplings are delicious. A bit of a kick but the best kind. The chili cheese fries that my friend had were also so good. Perfect cheese to chili ratio with the fries. There is a chef in the back who is passionate about food and making sure it tastes perfect so I trust everything is good. But if you are unsure ask the servers or bartenders. They won't steer you wrong. The drinks: admittedly, I mostly drink just screwball on the rocks. However every mixed cocktail I have had here has been perfection. Mark is the manager and he could be a mixologist, should be a mixologist, super nice guy who is shockingly good and remembering peoples drink preferences. Like a year ago was the last time I ordered cider and he remembered! The vibe: I wouldn't really call this place a dive bar, but it's sort of got a hint of dive bar going on. The back patio is really nice during the summer but sitting inside the barrel is fun too. The bulldog is kinda small so you won't fit a ton of people in there but it's still fun. Lots of places to sit although sometimes it does get packed and it's standing room only. Not to mention, they allow dogs!!! This is a great place to come with a first date. It's good for dressing up a little but not too much and there are some corners you can sit in so you can have a little closeness. But the staff will also keep an eye out for you. If you are feeling uncomfortable in any way, they will keep an eye out for you and help you out. There isn't a designated dance floor but they won't be mad if you dance in the area that you've got available to you. Just don't accidentally knock anything over or hit anybody. The music: Chard is usually in charge of the play list but even when he isn't the music is usually pretty great and there's a band that comes and plays on Sundays for a while in the afternoon/evening. I have found some of my new favorite music because of this place. Drag brunch: I've never actually attended because I've heard it gets a little crazy and that can be a little scary overwhelming for me, but they do it everyday Saturday and Sunday and that's been going strong for a pretty long time so I have to assume it's a good time. The themed events: this is the kind of crazy I can handle though. They have done lots of the rings, zelda anniversary, a Star Wars themed singles event for Valentine's Day, a scholastic book fair, and Easter egg hunt, their Halloween and New Year's Eve events were AMAZING, I could go on and on. People turn up for these events and they are just some of the most fun especially with the costumes you will see. Go to Idle Hour. I've never loved a bar before. This place is something else. I promise you won't be disappointed, unless you're one of those kinds of people who finds something wrong no matter how amazing the place is or you're kind of an entitled jerk.

We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our server, Seth, and the entire team. The service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Waters were never empty, drinks arrived promptly, and every dish was perfectly timed and coursed throughout the evening. The level of attention to detail elevated an already incredible meal into a truly memorable experience. As for the food, I genuinely don't know where to begin. This might be one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles -- and honestly, it has a strong case for being the best. Every single dish that came out was executed beautifully. We started with the caviar service, which was an easy win from the start. The chips were impossibly light, airy, and perfectly salted, while the onion crème fraîche added an incredible richness that tied everything together beautifully. Next came the milk buns, which were soft, fluffy, and completely addictive. The whipped butter served alongside them was silky, rich, and absolutely perfect. The tiger prawn tostada completely surprised me in the best possible way. It delivered layers of flavor with subtle heat that never overpowered the dish. The prawns were cooked flawlessly, and every bite felt balanced and intentional. Then came the croquettes, which may have officially ruined all other croquettes for me. They were perfectly crisp on the outside while the interior simply melted in your mouth. The accompanying sauce was beautifully balanced and made an already fantastic dish even better. For mains, we ordered the Dungeness crab pasta, which was light, fresh, and elegant. It wasn't trying to be overly complicated, and that was exactly what made it so good. It was a reminder that simplicity, when executed well, can be extraordinary. The pork belly risotto was another standout. The risotto itself was cooked perfectly, and the pork belly somehow managed to be both crispy and melt-in-your-mouth tender at the same time. Every component on the plate worked together flawlessly. We also ordered the corn and roasted potatoes as sides, and somehow even those managed to steal the spotlight. The corn was an absolute flavor bomb, and the roasted potatoes were equally unforgettable. And then came the star of the evening: the tomahawk. Without question, it was the best tomahawk steak I've ever had. The accompanying chili sauce wasn't aggressively spicy like a traditional salsa might be; instead, it was incredibly balanced and complemented the richness of the steak perfectly. Every bite was absolute perfection. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed, but after a dinner this good there was no chance we were skipping dessert. We ordered the French toast dessert, which was delicious with its tangy strawberry syrup and beautifully executed flavors. My only critique would be that I wish it had been served warmer and in a slightly larger portion, because I truly think that would have taken it to an entirely different level. Overall, I left absolutely blown away. The chef, the kitchen team, and the front-of-house staff delivered one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time. It was the perfect way to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this is without a doubt a place we'll be returning to again and again.

It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.
