This is a great new spot. It had a very modern city look. I would classify the menu as eclectic. Since their opening, we've been their 3 times, and have tried a number of their menu items. Fortunately , most of the items we've tried have been very good, but not all. For appetizers we've had guacamole, hummus, crab stuffed avocado & chicken liver mousse. The first 3 listed were all delicious, although the portion size was on the small side. The chicken liver pate was extremely salty, and very disappointing. For entrees we've had the following: Halibut, Scottish salmon, fettuccine Alfredo, hangar steak, prime cheese burger, bbq baby back ribs, roasted duck & the whole roasted trout. All the entrees were excellent with the exception of the roasted trout, which was covered in capers making the dish extremely salty. We only tried one dessert, which was the coconut meringue, and it was tasty. Service, during all our visits, was outstanding. They have a nice touch with bread service. They come around offering 3 different types of sourdough bread which looks great, but doesn't have much flavor. The bread is served with an overly salted cup of butter. I inquired if the butter could be served without the salt on top, and the response was no, that they're all pre made. They have a nice drink & wine selection to choose from. I had high expectations after seeing Comet Club all over social media, but the experience was mixed. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived until we left, which was definitely the highlight of the visit. However, after being seated, we waited about 10 minutes without being offered a menu. I ended up looking it up on my phone which wasn't the best first impression. The food was underwhelming overall. By the time I had decided on one of the specials, I was told it was no longer available which was disappointing. The interior is stylish and well-designed, but the outdoor seating felt awkward. Since the restaurant is located within an apartment complex, it felt more like sitting in someone's backyard while looking into residents' windows than enjoying a restaurant patio. I came because of the hype on social media, but this visit reminded me that influencer recommendations don't always match the actual experience. This place is absolutely terrible! I dined there last week and I wouldn't go back under any circumstances. I didn't even bother to complain about the terrible food. Everything we ordered was awful. The crab cake was mushy, the steak was bland, and the seafood pasta tasted like it was just fished out the ocean. For the price, it's a complete waste of money and time. When they cleared the table, the waiter asked me how my food was. I told him it was not good, but I didn't want to complain. He apologized and said that the kitchen was having a bad day because the menu had been changed the day before. My bill was over $300, which was a total waste of money and time. I posted my review on Instagram, but I was blocked! It's hilarious. I guess I won't be getting a reply from the manager or getting my money back because they clearly need it! What a joke! Walking in, you're immersed in an upscale Miami-esque Art Deco atmosphere. Palm leaves and warm natural tones adorn the walls, while waiters float around in pink and green suits to greet and serve you. The atmosphere, decor, and overall service is immediately pleasing. The cocktail list was short and sweet, and I found the negroni especially enjoyable with the egg wash. While it was absolutely chic and beautiful inside, as OG Long Island yelper Franco C. says, "Ya can't eat the decorations!" Food-wise, nothing was terrible, but it certainly wasn't at the level I expected from the chef of 2 Spring. The deviled eggs were perfectly piped but plain and lacked depth, needing something more umami added into the mix. We threw in the pearl onions from a cocktail and it made a difference in bite two. The crab stuffed avocado was also good looking, but extremely unbalanced. Too much mayo and spice and overall a very sloppy bite. The oysters were briney and salty, just as you would want. Didn't try any of the sauces because lemon juice was just enough to enjoy them! The halibut had a beautiful firm crust and the accompaning flavors were not overpowering. It did need the coconut curry with each bite but it was delicious. If I didn't toss my bread, it would have been nice to dip in. The short rib pasta was a little on the sweet side but ok. Dessert was a flop. The dark chocolate marscapone cake was drier than Ben Stein's voice on hot day in the desert. Cough! Help, I need water... (Or an espresso martini!). No wonder our bubbly waitress suggested that we eat it with ice cream. Not worth the calories, they should consider doing a flourless chocolate/espresso cake instead. The bathroom situation is weird, you have to go out into the hallway of the building that the restaurant is in. I think ended up using the staff bathroom which smelled like cigarettes, derrieres and regret. No air freshener could have covered that up. I had high hopes for comet and was looking forward to coming here since it opened ! Seems like this is the type of spot you come back for the atmosphere, cocktails and perhaps a small appetizer (just not the crab stuff avocado). I am so glad we found this restaurant TCC is located in Garden City is roomy with outdoor seating, also it offers valet parking. This a new building. The whole experience was excellent, from the valet, hostess, bus and servers, everyone was great. The customer service was top, management was making their rounds checking on everything and greeting and chatting with the patrons. Our server Jazz was great, he is knowledgeable, attentive and aims to please making you feel welcomed. The food was delicious. We will return. Almost a 5 star meal. Only shortfall was the bread. Having been to 2 Spring many times and Provisions I was disappointed that the bread was cold and some pieces were too dense - tasted like it sat out for too long. But who comes for the bread anyway? The rest of the meal and service was spectacular. I have been wanting to try this place ever since I saw their cool Vegas-like sign. I finally got to go with another couple. I kind of wanted to gatekeep this place but it deserves to be better known. The vibe is great - awesome bar and the large room itself is fashionably dark which completely opens up in the back to an outdoor seating area. We just wanted some apps and they were all terrific. Crab cake was real lumpy crab meat. Arancini balls were smaller which made it lighter and fun to eat. The pork and beef meatballs were so tender and tasty that the Italian couple we came with were raving all about it. And we shared the pesto rigatoni. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the pesto was so fresh and flavorful. On top of that, the staff checked in frequently and were very friendly. We went to try The Comet Club for my sister's birthday dinner. Walking in the vibe was very old school Miami feel with waiters dressed in light pink suits and green leaves lining the walls. Our waiter was Jose who made sure our table had everything we needed and provided great service. They do have bread if you request it. They bring out a large bread basket of sourdough bread that is presented to the table and they place it on your bread plate. For appetizers we shared crab cakes which is definitely something to try. The crab cake was full of crab meat. I liked the sauce that was accompanied the crab cake which had a little bit of spice and I think it was corn in it. For the entree I got the roasted halibut that came with yuca crisps and picked jalapeños in a creamy coconut curry. It was a great dish I would get again. If you still have sauce in your plate after finishing the fish, use the bread to have the rest. It's that good. The prices of the menu is on the higher end, so definitely great for a meal for a special occasion. I would return for another meal in the future. read more

Incredible experience! We may a reservation via OpenTable and were happy we did! The restaurant is tucked inside the Vanderbilt apartment complex. Plenty of self-parking but there is also valet. We were quickly seated and given drink & food menus. I went with the le citrine cocktail and it was delicious and paired perfectly with the warm weather. My partner had the espresso martini and said it was delicious. Our server was fantastic. She never rushed us and answered any questions we had. They have three types of sourdough available before dinner. I tried the olive and it was divine. For entrees I had the half roasted chicken which was cooked to perfection and was served over a bed of pinto beans. The chicken also comes with 4 sauces. One of them was legitimately spicy while the rest had a tomato base. My partner had the seafood spaghetti and said every component hit it out of the park. We ended up staying for one more cocktail after dinner and were never rushed. Prices are really not bad considering the level of service. read more

This place is amazing - this is def an addition to my rotation of frequent spots. From the time you walk in the door it's 5 star. Had a reservation and was seated right away - the server came right over - explained the concept, menu etc. we ordered drinks while we looked over the menu - let me tell you the drinks are crafted so well - then someone came over and served bread/butter, which was warm and soft. The waiter came back over, took his time going over the menu items with us and he is funny , he kept telling jokes and very high energy personality. All of us (3) were over satisfied with our choices - salmon/broccolini, steak/fries, duck/rice and carrot cake to share. I would come back alone for the service - the waiter Jazz was so attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate, he really enjoys his job and it shows. The decor, very sleek and it almost gave a speakeasy feel - they also have an outdoor area which I can't wait until it warms up enough to enjoy ! We decided to check out the hype surrounding The Comic Club last night for our anniversary. Since they've been open for about a month, I assumed the initial opening kinks would be worked out by now, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The Atmosphere & Design: Located inside a hotel, the space itself is absolutely stunning and the decor is undeniably cute. The design lacks practicality for a high-end restaurant. The tables are glass, causing plates to slide around, and they are incredibly wobbly (we noticed the couple next to us struggling with a wobbly table, too). The chairs are adorable, but the tie-on cushions are already breaking after just a month. The Service: We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, but the restaurant appeared heavily overbooked, resulting in a 25-minute wait past our reservation time just to be seated. Once at the table, our waitress was largely a ghost. She only approached us twice: once to take our dinner order and once to ask about dessert. She never came back to check on us. The manager, Anthony, was a real charmer and was the only saving grace when it came to service. He surprised us with a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary. I was highly anticipating the house-made bread after seeing it all over social media. We never received it with our meal, but Anthony made sure we got some after our entrees had already arrived. We were never given utensils and had to flag down a busser who was delivering food just to get forks and knives. The staff overall seemed scattered and all over the place. The Food: The calamari was great, and the crab cake was a standout--it featured unique dill pickle flavors. The French dip was very tasty, and the halibut with red curry sauce was super yummy. We shared the coconut meringue, which was fine, but nothing to write home about. The Comic Club has potential. The food is there, and the ambiance is a vibe. However, when you are spending over $250 on a dinner for two, the service needs to be sharp. Right now, the front-of-house execution just doesn't match the price point. Overall, the experience did not feel aligned with the price point. For a restaurant positioning itself at this level, we would expect exceptional service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality -- all of which were noticeably lacking. We were disappointed with our overall experience at The Comet Club, particularly the level of service. Upon arrival, we were seated at a small table and politely asked whether we could move to the two-top directly beside us, as it seemed more comfortable. The host informed us that the table was reserved, which was confusing given that we also had a reservation. To our surprise, the table remained vacant for over an hour afterward. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before anyone noticed that we hadn't been given menus. Water was eventually brought to the table, and we requested lemon with it; however, despite asking on three separate occasions, neither the waiter nor the support staff fulfilled the request. Unfortunately, the level of service continued to decline throughout the evening. When our appetizer arrived, we still did not have utensils at the table, leaving us unable to begin our meal while we again attempted to get someone's attention. By that point, the lack of attentiveness and attention to detail had become quite apparent. As for the food, there were certainly some highlights. The pork chop was exceptionally tender and flavorful -- easily the standout dish of the night. My halibut was also very good, and the calamari appetizer was enjoyable. However, the sourdough bread was disappointing (cold & bland), and the Tropical Sundae dessert was unmemorable. What bothered us most was the bill at the conclusion of dinner. We specifically ordered cocktails directly from the menu and even pointed them out to our waiter, yet the drinks were charged with separate liquor add-ons, increasing the cost from approximately $16 to $22 each. This felt misleading and left us with a disappointing final impression of the evening. With so many outstanding restaurants at similar price points, we'll gladly choose to spend our money elsewhere. read more

Such a memorable meal from start to finish, everything from the food to the service was impeccable. This was my second visit, and it definitely did not disappoint. I started with the Maria Felix cocktail, then had the tuna carpaccio, which was fresh, delicate, and full of flavor, and the butcher's meatball which was tender, perfectly cooked, and honestly tasted just like my mom's homemade meatballs. The marinara was perfect, so definitely get the sourdough bread to dip into the sauce! For my main, I had the hanger steak and swapped the fries for the cauliflower gratin. Anthony, my waiter, and Alexandra, who was assisting him, were both attentive, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the menu. Their recommendations were spot on. Anthony highly recommended a Cabernet to pair with the steak, and it was the perfect choice. I also had the pleasure of meeting McKenna, the manager, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. She made sure everything was to my liking and truly went above and beyond. Dessert was the highlight, the yuzu lime tart was SO good and tasted just like key lime pie, which is my favorite. There was honestly nothing to complain about. Beautiful place and great ambiance, but unfortunately the food was a huge disappointment. The restaurant itself looks amazing, so I really expected the food to match the setting. I ordered the tuna, and it was extremely fatty and full of tough veins. Just thinking about it still makes me nauseous. I could barely eat it. They also brought us the wrong appetizer, and the service was not particularly good. My boyfriend ordered a fish dish as well, and his was very mediocre -- nothing memorable and definitely not what we expected from a place that looks this impressive. The atmosphere is probably the best thing about Comet. I could see coming here for drinks and enjoying the environment, but based on our experience, I would not return for dinner. Maybe stick with the wine -- at least the wine is safe. read more

We went to the Comet on Saturday night and was very impressed in how nice the restaurant was and how elegant the waiters are dressed. The attention was pretty good and our waiter Jose was very nice and pleasant. We wanted Calamari but it's no longer a menu item which was a bummer. I ordered the shrimp cocktail which was really good and the table ordered Guac with I believe a side of a tortillas but can't remember. They said it was pretty good. For dinner my wife had the seafood pasta. Not great it was a very fair pasta sauce almost like it was from a can and it also did not have much seafood. She was not happy. The rest of the table asked for the hanger steak with fries which was pretty good. The waiter recommended the duck which I asked for only to find out they ran out. We then went with the pork chop. It was served very nice but it was extremely salty so I had to return it. This was a bummer because it looked really good but did not want to take a chance with a second round of it. We did not have dessert but it was my son in laws birthday so we asked for a piece of pastry for $18 it's should have been dressed up a little better with some writing or something and it was very small. For drinks I am a Long Island iced tea guy and I only had one because it was not great. I stuck with the old fashioned which they do make pretty good. The attention here really is good I enjoyed the staff and the environment but I may not be back. A place can be beautiful but the food has to match it's elegance and price point. It's not very often you pay close to $40 a plate and it not be good. Work on your seafood spaghetti. read more

The service was absurdly bad. The waitress did not know what was on the menu. The food came with the bread service before the appetizers. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Veal Parm. It was mostly breading but a large portion. They gave us free dessert because of the mix-up. We ordered the Sunday. At 1st glance, the whipped cream was flat; after the 1st taste, we realized the whipped cream was sour. It is a beautiful space, but the experience was terrible. read more

Had a delicious Fourth of July BBQ tonight at The Comet Club. Amanda and Jeremy made our night with their excellent service and great personalities. The BBQ was great; ribs that fell off the bone, a smash burger to die for, Greek salad, grilled chicken! Guacamole so fresh, grilled shrimp! We are stuffed to the gills!! The perfect date night spot! From the 20's Jazz music playing to the perfectly lit mood lighting, we had such a lovely evening. The drinks were superb, the staff were so pleasant and on top of every detail. Plus, the food, oh my the food. We shared the queso and guac and avocado crab to start. The best queso we've had. Followed by the Hangar steak and the filet mignon. Every bite was better than the last. I had some sourdough bread and my partner enjoyed some everything bread. We ended the meal with a decadent dark chocolate cake and a fluffy coconut pastry. Mmm Mmm. We had a lovely time and I highly recommend it. We will be back! read more

Now for the negatives: the filet mignon was barely luke warm and pre-sliced with an incredibly sharp and unpleasant tough exterior to it; the halibut was quite dry; the seafood pasta was rather underwhelming; and the free bread is a very cold and dense sourdough. We ordered the MP caviar service (~$150) and were pretty disappointed; it was literally just a jar of caviar on ice served with tortilla chips. No traditional accompaniments, no presentation, nothing that made it feel special or elevated. For that price, I expected a much more thoughtful experience. The fish was okay, nothing special and the Yuka accompaniment was a miss for me. Dessert was bland and don't meet expectations. The place is great looking. Sadly, that's it. Our service was slow and spotty. I don't remember the last time that water was served with no ice. Their beer selections are not on any menu. Our server came back with a list of three. The picked the one that I had never heard of, it had a monster on the can. Again, the beer was not cold and a frosted glass was not provided. Having a bar I have to believe that they have some beer on tap. The wine pour was, in my opinion, skimpy. Our appetizers and entrees were ok. My wife ordered the spare ribs. At the end of the meal she asked for some wet naps, not to be found. Instead they brought her a wet napkin. Not good. Our desserts were fine. There was no shortage of help. There were people in black, people in pink and people in suits. Two of the suits came by to say hello. While I understand that the restaurant is only open two months they have to get their act together. The only thing top shelf were their prices. I'm sorry to have to drop the hammer. read more

The Cesare salad was not traditional and more of a vinaigrette and the croutons were stale. We didn't say anything. The halibut was very good and also the French dip. The burger was good too but my husband did not like the pork chop. The service was very good and the waitstaff professional and friendly but there were so many different servers it was hard to determine who was the actual waiter. They should improve the bread offering it was cold and no butter or oil was offered with it. All in all a good experience, I would go back again. read more

My friend and I both ordered the duck and thought it was underwhelming. It came with vermicelli which was burnt. The server told us that is how it is prepared. It took a very long time for entrees to arrive too. I can't say anything bad about the restaurant, but we're not in a rush to go back with so many other great places on Long Island. read more

Don't miss this new addition to Long Island. We started our order with cosmopolitans that were simply delicious and of course fresh squeeze lime juice which is always a plus. Our appetizers of crispy calamari, and then the Caesar salad were so good. We had an amazing server named Jose who never skipped a beat in serving us and getting the food out really quickly and making sure our table was spotless at all times. Extremely attentive.
