This store is great. This mall is a mess for doing all the construction but the container store is huge and has amazing things. They have things to fit any kind of need for containing, organizing, storage, beautification, and other odds and ends for home, office and life in general. I can't say enough good about the store itself. A little hard to get to. A little hard to fine from the parking garage. Not a lot of staff of the staff that is there is very good. They are very helpful and really another product. I understand the owner of this company is very smart and good also. Apparently he has a book out that I might like to read. I understand this is a great place to work also. A company whose employees have great attitudes like this is a good company to shop at in my book read more

The first time I entered The Container Store, I felt like I had been kicked in the face, because I could not BREATHE due to total love and obsession. I like to organize things, and I like for things to have their own place. I'm not a neat freak, but I have a weird thing for organizational aids. The Container Store is the Mecca of organizational aids. On every aisle, you will find something you must have. YOU HAVE TO POSSESS IT. My top buys have been floating book shelves, which make stacks of books look as if they are just glued to your wall, and a business card organizer box that I flip through every day. Service is usually really excellent. I don't know how these people know where everything is, but they do. Only black mark is that the check out area is a bit confusing and I've often waited longer than seemed necessary. read more

Organization at its finest! What a great store! This is a place where I could spend hours wandering the aisles for inspiration to arrange all my clutter!! And thats exactly what I do! Now some of us have those times where we identify the need to tidy up our living space, but for me, it usually flows on like a tsunami, where I feel the urge-to-purge and 'GET ALL MY CRAP OUT NOW'. And thats when I visit the container store. Over the years, Ive gotten a lot of great ideas here from the organization of all my holiday decorations and gift wrapping equipment, arranging my winter and summer linens, to carefully storing away wedding items. Unfortunently, this place is pricey (hence the 4 stars). So I usually only purchase items if its a last resort and I cant seem to find it easily online or in another store. I heart The Container Store! I always feel so productive and organized by shopping there! And most importantly, I can justify my spending! I NEED all this crap to sort my other crap and make my house clean! What logic......buying more crap for other crap.....that is up there with my other motto of spending to save! Put something on sale or tell me if I buy 2 I get a better 'deal' and I am sold! That is what it is like when I am at The Container Store. A true love hate relationship! Anyways, bought some cool things to organize my hundreds of pairs of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets (these containers were a bit expensive but they do work and I am enjoying actually being able to find my 'stuff') , an over the door shoe organizer (the jury is still out on this one), some drawer organizers for my socks (working well so far), and my favorite, a couple of purse organizers. Yes, purse organizers! They hang in the closet and have large pockets for purses. LOVE IT! I can see all my purses and helps me remember what I have. Tend to forget what I have and use the same things or buy more of the same because everything is piled on top of each other and I forget about them. So see I did NEED it...LOL!!! Downside of this specific store: after I buy all this stuff I have to walk a million miles to my car in the underground structure. Hummmm....obviously I didn't think ahead. I find The Container Store in the OC with it's parking right outside of the door and the ability to take a shopping cart out to my car much more convenient. This place has a lot of stuff to choose from. The prices were middle of the road I'd say. I think the location was hard to find if you're relying on yelp and your GPS to get here tbough. Having never been and not being familiar with the Westfield mall in Santa Monica it was a chore but I figured it out. I found what I was looking for in the end. I called over the phone and talked to a Lisa. She was very informative and helpful. I asked for her when I got there and she was just as helpful in person. Love The Container Store in general. I don't love this location. It seems like every time I'm there the one particular thing I need is out of stock. I needed a new piece for my Stackable system for my jewelry. They had every other piece in every size, color, and combination. The one piece I needed wasn't there. It took about 5 minutes to find someone who worked there to confirm that they were sold out of that one piece. I then moved on to another part of the store. I needed help again and had to search for about 15 minutes before I found an employee to help me (again, the one thing I was looking for was out of stock). I did find 1 thing I needed and went to checkout where there was only one person working, but 3 people behind the counter just staring into space. Honestly, I'm thinking I'm just going to order online from now on. The Container Store has some amazing things, but this store's negatives outweigh the company's positives. read more

A store of just containers? I had no idea such a thing existed... but it does! And this is possibly one of the most useful stores in the world... We have bough just about everything here... from dish shelves and wine glass holders to put in our kitchen cabinets, to the lunch bag I bring to work every day, to a very stylish-looking recycling bin to separate paper and glass and plastic in our kitchen. Not to mention our hampers, shoe racks and hangers... And water bottles, plastic food containers, and the little bottle with a built-in straw that I drink my juice out of as I walk to work in the morning... Okay, I'm going to stop listing our purchases because I might go on all day. But if you do want a detailed list of everything in our home from the container store, just ask. I'm sure I could compile a complete one. The people here are nice and always ready to suggest the container you need to suit your needs. Don't go in here if you're on a budget, or really to spend your money on food and shelter, or something equally as important, because you will find 20 billion things that you NEED as soon as you step through the door. This is a DANGEROUS store for me. They have helped me organize pretty much my entire house, and because they are very pricey, and because I like almost everything in the store, it's hard not to go broke here. I can always find things I NEED, and I can always find things I WANT........hence, it's a dangerous place. But OUTSTANDING. This is the ONLY place to come for organizational and/or storage items. Also, they have very helpful and knowledgeable staff, who walk around asking if you need help. They don't wait to be asked. I like that. I love this place! The organizational freak in me gets so excited everytime I step foot here. I only wish I had an unlimited supply of money so I can shop til I drop, since stuff here can get pricy :( But ANYWAY, I love this location. It's awesome because if you order online and do pick up in store, you get one hour free parking validation. Free parking at Westfield Century City is a gem! Last time I made the mistake of going to Container Store in Pasadena and I struggled to find parking (and had to pay). They're pretty quick with online orders, too, so not to worry if you're impatient like I can be. :) I've only been to two Container Store locations, so I can't say much about how it compares in size. It seems huge to me, and I've never had any problems looking for what I want to buy. Customer service is always great also. We hit up this Container Store several times over the course of a few days and ended up spending quite a bit of money. The result? A very clean and organized closet with drawers for everything. The best thing about this Container Store is the staff. They were super helpful when I was getting my Elfa closet stuff and even gave me a 20% discount off of everything because they had some "College Night" going on (which I was clearly not a part of). Better yet, when I came back to exchange some of the things that were the wrong size, the manager still gave me a 20% discount! Once I found out this container store was inside of the Century City mall... I was very turned off because of the hassle I imagined. I THOUGHT WRONG! - When you make a big purchase like I did(full of bulky stuff too), they have flat carts and etc and their employees help you take your stuff down to your car!!! - The elevator to the garage is right outside their store! - To top it off, they help you put it inside your car. They don't just wheel it all out there and then leave you hanging. lol I WAS SOO RELIEVED! - Prices are reasonable, and the ON SALE or marked-down items rock my world - I had 5 different employees help me at different times. - They were all pleasant and knowledgeable or helpful. - I love how this store upholds strong teamwork. One of the employees was singing out loud and I thought it was amusing as well. haha He also gave me 60% off some things that were "discolored from the sun" and was going to be trashed(because holiday's coming and they can't fit it all into their discount corner) I always dreamed of going into one of these stores and now I finally have and I'm glad I did! !!!!Thank you to all the wonderful employees of this Container Store:)!!!! read more

I am a big fan of Container Store. But recently, I placed an online order and came to pick up at this store. The pick up time is at 12.30pm, I arrived at 11 am. I realized I was way too early for my pick up time. I politely asked one of the sale representative if it's ok to pick up order early or should I just cancel and pick the items out from the store and check out at the counter. The guy informed me that it wouldn't be a problem and it should take 30 minutes. So I stayed and shopped around for 35 minutes. Came back, they told me to wait for 25 more minutes before I got my order. I could have canceled that order and just shopped in-store and went home by then. I understand that there are many orders they have to fulfill. However, I would expected a honest response that would not waste my time. I am still a loyal customer of Container Store but no longer at this location. They opened a new location at the Grove and I love the service there much better. read more

Funny story. My dad gave me a white gift card for what I thought was The Container Store... it was actually for Crate & Barrel... my bad. Helvetica font confused me... Anyway, I needed hangers and since they have a such a lovely display of colorful hangers in the front window, I knew this was the spot to do some damage. I picked out a variety 172? hangers that way it was .25 p/hanger versus .29 when you buy less than that... or something. I also needed a few containers for my excessive jewelry collection and they had an amazing selection of tackle/thread/misc. boxes! At first I couldn't find them but the saleslady that was helping me knew exactly what I was talking about and lead me to the right location, she amazingly helpful and super informative. I also picked up a shoe rack and a step stool, why not, I thought I had $100 of free spending! When I got to the register and slid the lovely white gift card and the guy at the register said it wasn't working. When I handed it to him he looked at me like I was crazy but hey, I guess I am... I was soooo embarrassed but he was super nice about it and urged me to put some stuff back, so I surrendered the step stool. Despite my silly, embarrassing mistake, I highly recommend The Container Store for all of your organizational needs! read more

The first time I went in here I hyperventilated. I managed to escape with my life, and a few 3-ounce plastic bottles. I was so completely high from lack of oxygen that I started yammering to the checker about how I travel a lot and can't EVER find 3-ounce bottles and how excited I was to find them! She looked at me blankly; obviously SHE doesn't know about the TSA's "3-1-1" Rule. Really, though, the bottles are fucking awesome. They don't leak with changing cabin pressure or nothing, and they also have fun neon-colored caps so you can tell your shampoo from conditioner from liquid soap. Heaven help me. read more

The staff was very helpful. As soon as I walked in, I was asked if I needed help and I found what I needed in 5 minutes. I purchased what I needed and left the store to continue shopping around the mall. When you're ready to leave, you drive to the pick-up area and call, and someone comes down and helps you load your car. For being located in a crowded mall, they have great service. read more

The Container store has always been hit-or-miss for me. I come here alot yet I never buy anything. Mostly cause I'm so overwhelmed by all the different choices and storage ideas that I leave here more frustrated and scattered than I originally came. CS is a great place, if you want bins, storage ideas, little knick knacks I always find something new here that I "couldn't live without" which seems to happen alot. I recommend checking out their used section, sorta like Ikea's AS-IS section container has it's own floor model samples discount for quick sale. I've found many great items here hella discounted because of minor wear and tear issues. Bargains are my friend. I'll always be back, especially since I love the mall here but I'm still debating what bins to buy from last year, great for choices, bad for indecisive people like myself. read more

I love my label maker and that says it all. Being organized is a necessity in my life and The Container Store makes it easier. Usually their service is great, but my last trip was not a positive experience. If you ever go, don't ask Tamara for help. She obviously hates her job and will give you wrong information. Story here: I walked in and asked a man at the register if I could use my Pop discount in store. I showed him my phone and the discount as applied on the website. He said yes so I began to pull everything I needed, which was 14 items. When I arrived the register, I was "greeted" by Tamara who yelled at me from a distance, with her back turned, that she'll take me at the register. Not sure which register she was referring to, I just walked to the one that she maybe was pointing at. As she walked over (no hello, no eye-contact), she said: "not that register, that one." Frankly, she just seemed quite annoyed to be there. Then, I showed her my phone and said that I would like to use my "Pop discount". Her reply: "That only works online." I told her that the guy told me that I could use it when I walked in, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to pull all the items. Her reply: "who told you that? what's your number?" After she pulls up my number, she says as though I was the one who made a mistake: "Oh yeah, you do have a Pop discount. That's different." She clearly wasn't listening and paying attention, because not only did I refer to it as my "Pop discount" but I also showed her the site which says "Pop! 15%". The icing on the cake was when I asked her if they validate and she said (again in an annoyed voice): "No, it's $1 for every hour." When I asked another sales rep at the store about that, their reply was much more informative and friendly. I was informed that actually Gelson's and Bloomingdales validates and that Westfield customer service validates if you spend $100+. I spent almost $200 at Container Store so that would have been something she should have told me. read more

I had a really bad experience here today. Last week I purchased a desk organizer to be delivered to the store today by 1:30 pm. Upon my arrival to the store, the cashier checked with the employees in the back and confirmed that my item was in. The cashier instructed me to step to the side of the cash register and stand there until 1:30 as it was now 1:11 pm and my receipt stated the item would be available to me at 1:30 pm. I thought she was kidding but she was not. I could understand if the item was not ready but that was not the case. I guess it's the only power this cashier will have all day. I like organizing things. No, I love organizing things. Closets, email inboxes, books, writing utensils... you name it, I'll try to organize it. So I pretty much almost peed myself walking into this store. The options for organization made me dizzy. It was all I could do to keep from draping my hand across my head and fainting onto brightly colored stable containers. I love The Container Store. I've never been to this one before, but I have been to one in the past. I don't usually go to Century City, though I will go more often because of this store. When I went to The Container Store I came with my mom, since she needed some, well, containers. I don't know how long we spent there, but it felt like a long time. We went our separate ways and got "lost" in all the items, my mom took the cart. When I met up with my mom again I saw her cart full of stuff. I didn't buy anything myself, but my mom surely did. I'll definitely come back for a lot of different things. Though I should remind myself to come with a list so I don't go overboard, since I found that it would be so easy to do so. read more

This store is very well stocked with a wide variety of containers, organizers, and office implements. They could use more helpers on the floor but the cashiers are very knowledgeable and helpful. I atypically write reviews for stores but this on I thought was appropriate. I have never been here and found what I wanted. Yes the store is well organized (but few visible pricetags). It's the container store, of course its organized. However, the things i wanted to contain, pictures, dirty clothes etc. I haven't found anything here that was worth the time or the money buying. No exceptions, no "let's give it a few minutes and see if the crowd improves". I used their store pick-up option after ordering three small items online. My scheduled pick-up time was 2PM but I called in and they had it ready by 1030AM (I placed the order At 830AM). Once I parked in the designated pick-up parking area it only took 7 minutes for them to bring my completely correct order to my car. Regrettably, this Container Store is in a mall. Which usually almost always means that it's smaller than a stand-alone store. Also, you have to go through said mall to get to the front. I'd rather vomit into a bowl and eat it than wade through a mall. (There IS an elevator that can take you directly upstairs but bleh.) Lines can be long. The store is arranged a bit differently than all the other Container Store locations I've been. Luckily the people who work here are super nice and even had time to give us driving directions over the phone. If it weren't such a hassle to get here and park, I'd probably come to this location more often. For what it's worth, to naysayers who claim the Container Store is overpriced, I almost always spot the same items at Target and for some strange reason they're always more expensive than the Container Store. If you want a plain stack of hangers, yeah, go to Target, but if you want super nice hangers (non-plastic, sleek wooden ones) or want individual differently coloured hangers (*raises hand* guilty of colour coding my wardrobe according to hanger colour), go to the Container Store. read more

Not that I am all that organized or enjoy organizing that much but if you have to do it this is a good place to do it. I have a small bookshelf that folds up that I bought here that I really like. Also I found some magazine holders to help contain the mess and a magazine rack for my bathroom. I have never found the staff to be particularly helpful on the floor I think i have been mostly ignored by them there. But the cashiers were friendlier than the average large retail chain employees. If money is not tight and you need organizing supplies this place will make your life easier. read more

This place has EVERYTHING in it that you NEVER knew you needed until you went in and saw it there! I now have little plastic rings that keep your socks together when being washed so the washer nor dryer will leave you with one sock without a mate. I have them in 3 different colors. I have luggage tags for my luggage and I hardly ever check my bags. I have a cute little mesh "lunch box" that has no purpose except I thought It was cute. I have also gotten storage bags for my linens, for comforters to sheet sets to dust ruffles. I have gotten more things but I think you get the idea. The major downside is that the items can be a little pricey. read more

I'm a professional organizer, so I basically live at this place. My favorite part is that I can order things online and pick them up at the store. They have their own parking spots so when you get there you just call and they will bring your order down to you - so you never even have to get out of your car! Also, they just have every different shape and size imaginable. So, even though its pricier than BB&B you have more options here. And if you have a space that is awkwardly shaped, I highly recommend you try to find a good product here. And the Elfa systems are great. I recommend them to clients regularly! read more

I would normally give it 4 stars...because honestly some things are a bit overpriced....but the exceptional customer service gives them that extra star! i have never had a bad moment here....their staff really goes above and beyond to help make you as happy as can be! I actually read that they are one of the top companies to work for in America, and really take care of their employees...which shines through to their service. We came here today to get an estimate for the Elfa Custom Closets. WOW! So cool! Our very friendly and helpful designer Toni helped me design right on the spot and they have a great computer system that draws out the layout for you and you can tweak it all you want. And their showroom has all of the options so it makes it really easy for you to see what you want. The total came out to be more than half the price of other closet places like California Closets.....who quoted me some outrageous number! And what I like about the Elfa products is I think they actually look better and they are adjustable and you can move the shelving around, and actually move your closet system if you move to a different house....unlike the other closet companies that want to charge you $4,000 for plywood that is then intact and non adjustable. So glad I looked into the Elfa products! read more
