Very organized in a crazy wonderful systematic way. Perfect store to organize your personals, and they really think of everything. Container stores are great! Finding every container needs in one place is smart. Although the customer service seems to be extinct. You usually know what you really need coming here. My wife and I recently purchased Elfa closet organizers for two closets during their sale. One closet was 10 feet long and the other 6 feet. Previously I did another small closet in our house that I installed myself without any problems, good design etc. This time, even though we spent several hours at the store with the salesperson the design of the 6 foot closet makes a lot of the closet shelf space unusable. When you're spending over $2,000 the design should be right. We depended on them but it's not well thought out at all. Their delivery and installation charges are outrageous. This time I thought that I'd let them install the product even though it's expensive. Wanted to save time. The installer seemed very competent and did a good job considering the design problems. Seems like a nice guy. However, he showed up over an hour late. Before we started, I asked him if he was going to take all the boxes that the shelves and brackets came in with him, he said no they just leave them for me to dispose of. I refused so he called the store manager and was told he could bring the trash back to the store and place it in their dumpster. What a concept of customer service! At the end he tried to overcharge me for the installation by over $200. While I don't know if it was an honest mistake or not, luckily I had the receipt that showed that the installation was also on sale at that time and was over $200 less than he wanted. At the end of the installation there were some parts left over that I guess I was charged for. I understand that in order to get reimbursed, I have to take them back to the store. What an inconvenience. He could have taken them and they could have credited my card. You might be interested to know that it took him 3 1/2 hours to install the closets including travel time and they wanted $698 plus delivery charge of $80.00 to do the installation. For that exorbitant charge he didn't even want to take the trash with him or the extra parts for credit. BE AWARE-they will not deliver your Elfa products even if you want to pay the delivery charge unless you purchase their exorbitant installation!!!! How about that for customer service. The products and services purchased from the Container Store are expensive to say the least. They should provide first rate service for their top dollar price. They don't. Here's my advice if you want to do business with them: Be sure of the design. Think it over carefully before you purchase, and know that they try to pack every shelf and drawer they can into the design to increase the price even if it won't work. Pick up and install the stuff yourself or hire someone other than them to do it. It's not hard or you can have it done for 1/2 the cost. Any good handyman service in town can handle it. And finally, beware of their charges, double check everything and demand good service. read more

ATTENTION MANAGER!: I went 2nd week of September 2020 during Coronavirus. I was fourth in line outside in the hot sun to get into the store- no tent was put up for the line. The line of people were looking through the windows and we saw only 4 customers inside the store. Meanwhile, a very long line formed behind me. They have a policy that for every 2 people that leave the store, they let 1 in. The employee who was guarding the door wasn't even paying attention who was leaving. I waited over 20 minutes. Many people behind me were fed up and left. After I finally got in this very large stand-alone store, I counted a total of 5 customers inside. This is ridiculous! Why such severe occupancy numbers? No other retail store in San Diego County operates like this, and this is not the guideline at all right now. The cashier service has always been bad at this store as well. They have a poor selection of jewelry/earring boxes so I left. Upon leaving, I told the line outside that there were only 4-5 people in the store, and most of the line of people in the back left. Get your act together Container Store. You are losing business, and 5 people max in your huge store is ridiculous. read more

I love this store. It has everything possible to clean and reorganize your home. The customer service is top-notch and helpful. I love anything that has to do with organizing so stepping into this store is heaven. Everything you could ever dream of to organize your home. I will be back. This store is a rip off it's like a cross between walmart in bed bath and beyond but not much better than any. parking was the worst part of this no place to park and when there was everything was tight. When we get inside the materials of their product your name cheap I probably pick up half a dozen broken items. I just went to this store, an hour and a half before closing, wanting some information about closet design. There were 2 salespeople at the design center, not busy with anyone at the time, who first thing informed me that they were closing at 7 and couldn't talk to me. They called a man to answer basic questions instead, but when I had another quick question about changing an appointment, he abruptly informed me that now he was off and couldn't help. When I went back to the design desk to change the appointment, the salespeople just ignored me there. The result is that anyone who needs my appointment slot won't get it, since no one had the two minutes necessary to cancel mine. Overall, the staff here did not exude the work ethic, client service, or friendliness that I have enjoyed at other Container Store outlets. read more

I have to give a shout out to this store and its staff. It's a big chain and they have a full-fledged website so why would I ever need to visit this place in person? Well, every time I have looked for something in there I have gotten great personal attention and have even been told to stay away from certain products because they get returned a lot. It's hard to get that kind of attentive customer service online. Everyone who works here is almost unnaturally nice, and though the regular prices are a little high, the sales are great. While pricey they do have some really good products. We have completely revamped our home office with their ELFA system. I'm no at least confident that it's configurable enough to adjust when we move and not have to buy all new stuff again. Also LOVE their 40 gallon weather tight totes. When I was looking to buy milk crates, the Container Store delivered. Got my closet stuff from ikea, so don't know why else I would come here. Has an odd location within the Fashion Valley Mall so that you def. need to WANT to come to this location- it's stuck between an above ground parking structure and pf chang's on the far eastern side of the mall. read more

First time being here. I didn't get to see the entire store because I was in a hurry. I bought two under the bed containers and a plastic cover for my closet that keeps my suits nice and clean. I saw a lot of really great things to have around my house. Service was great, helped me out some, very friendly. I will be coming back to pick up more stuff. read more

I've actually only been in here once and I didn't buy anything so this is based solely on observation. I was impressed at the number of items they had that I could see myself using. I ooh'ed and ahh'ed my way around the store wanting to pretty much buy everything. It doesn't take much to get me excited, and household organization that makes my life easier (and are better quality than Ikea) puts a smile on my face. pros...if you are looking for something to hold something else this is the place to go. i just love this store. they have something for everyone here. going on a trip, need some storage solutions, wanna get your house, garage, or car organized? this is the place to get anything and everything for it. i love the section in the back where they have the sale items. you can find a lot of good stuff at a fraction of the price. i bought all sorts of stuff for my trip to china two years ago. security pocket, well secret traveling pocket. some travel kits stuff, nice and small and handily packs away. and i have and still use some of the stuff to this day. cons...somewhat pricey for most stuff. but sometimes you find a real bargain. parking! you will be walking far away most of the time, p.f. chang's right next door and then a parking structure too. read more

Had a rough start with this store after I moved into my new townhome. Took in measurements and floor plans of five closets, ended up with several issues, but the store worked with me and we got this issues down. Just discovered this place last week. Great selection. We were looking for a wheeled laundry hamper and it was out of stock everywhere else. Some comments here say the items are overpriced but the item we bought was only like 20 cents more than the price at Walmart, and it's totally worth it because it's so much more pleasant to shop here. Best part is the exceptional customer service. Everyone from the manager to the cashier were so helpful and so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. They really made my day read more

Good product selection very poor service. Unless you want to spend your afternoon here look for options. Bought 4 products on a Monday & it took about ten minutes for one customer in front of me to get through line with only about 4 people in store. Returned on A Thursday to exchange one item. Another woman in front of me took 12-15 minutes. Cashier called for help three times, when help showed up she took next customer while I stood their smith 8-10 & she helped 4-5 people that just got in line. Once I got to front of her line & politely voiced my dissatisfaction over 3 days I got a rude unrelated excuse for an answer. Explains why they don't wear name tags. Sadly I saw more than one staff person working on shelves that could have helped. I have had very good service here several months ago but looks like new staff. my last trip here for awhile, may take new management to turn around if they don't close first. read more

Just bought the Elfa system for my garage and the whole process was so easy and the staff was so helpful. We're very pleased with the design, and although it's pricey for install-your-own shelves, it's much better quality than some of the other similar garage organizing solutions available on the market. The Elfa sale ends Monday, so get it now if you want it. We already thought it was pricey at 30% off--I can't imagine buying it at full price. read more

Each of my experiences has been consistently positive and I have found all staff to be professional, attentive, responsive and friendly in a way that is nothing like the false and chirpy knee-jerk stuff that happens when I walk in the door at other places. I have the feeling that there is an ethos of professional customer service that seems to be high on the list of priorities. Disappointed in the level of customer service and lack of in-store staff. When I finally found someone to ask for help finding an item, the guy had no idea where to find what I was looking and showed no interest in helping me. This store is the Disneyland for OCD personalities, i.e. ME! I love this place! I randomly swung by as I conveniently saw the sign while exiting Friars on the 163 off ramp. They sell a container for just about EVERYTHING. I personally purchased 3 glass jars that were of good quality for only 11 bucks. Their prices seem reasonable and they simply have so much cool stuff to put more cool stuff in! I would definitely go back again ... but sparingly ... as I could easily lose control in this organizational haven! read more

Their team is always ready to help and they are even conscious with the check out always making sure you dont stay in long lines. I just bought that hangers with type of velvet and they are amazing. the store is awesome, the employee i dealt with is not. she was super pushy and was trying to get my husband and i to spend $120 for a shelfing "system" when in reality we just wanted the shelf (20"x4' elfa) for above our washer and dryer. it was really akward and uncomfortable actually. i don't know why someone would make such a big stink over "THEIR" brackets, i mean come on now lady, relax. i do love all of the baskets, and accessories for the garage, bathroom ideas, but i admit i wanted to high tail it outta there due to her vibe. read more

The customer service we experienced yesterday at your Friar's Store location was awful. After finding our items, we went to purchase them in "Jen's" line. We were clearly visible to Jen while we waited for a good 5 minutes. However, once she was done helping the customer in front of us, she told us she had to leave and directed us the other line on opposite side of the store. We wondered why she allowed us to continue waiting in her line if she would not be able to ring us up. We ended up waiting another ten minutes since we had to get to the back of the new line. All of a sudden, Jen showed up again and asked the person in front of us to go over to her register to be checked out. We spoke up and told her that we should be next since we had to start our wait all over again. Jen looked at us as if bothered that we were upset. We had thought the reason she sent us to the other line was perhaps she was working unapproved overtime, and had to clock out. However, for her to direct us to another line to wait and to then come back 10 minutes later and NOT ask us to be next, was poor customer service. We apologized to the customer that Jen had invited over to her register before us, and luckily he was understanding. To the Store Manager, please speak or coach Jen that as a customer service representative, she is the face of your company, and the way she treats customers, will impact your store and company's reputation. read more

This is by far the best place for everything you need for storage or organization from kitchens to closets to travel to office: you will find it here. Yes, sometime their pricing on some items is more than competitors, but that's true for all retailers. Often I'm looking for something specific and they're the only ones who have it. Their displays also provide great ideas even if you buy at a discount somewhere else. Would've been 5 stars as customer service and selection is always great, but knocked if one star b/c register lines can get long and management doesn't always call in more clerks fast enough. This is the best store to organize your house, bedroom, anything you want to tidy up. I usually go to ikea but the quality here is way better than ikea. It does cost slightly more but nothing outrageous. I lover the selection of jars they have. I bought some for edibles that have an air tight seal. They've held up longer than the ones I bought from ikea. The ones I got from ikea had problems with the rubber seal. I recommend this place to everyone not wanting to go through ikea for containers. read more

Clean store. Nice staff. But, if you are like me and wanted to come here for a quick pickup after buying online you'll find the placement of the online pickup line is stupid and annoying.
