I had the pork chop, where getting it tender challenges many chefs. This one delivered: Perfectly done and seasoned just right. It doesn't come with vegetables so Marija suggested a half side of miso-chili broccoli, which was a great pairing. As we came in I noticed a lot of diners leaving with leftovers: portions were generous and we did same. For dessert, diners at next table raved about their giant 10 layer carrot cake. Marija offered me an off-the-menu 5-layer option that hit the spot. My wife had the flourless dark chocolate torte and ended up taking half home with us- it was very generous and really delicious. But to compare to other steakhouses, I don't think I can give it a positive review.

Whisked to our table to a romantic table for two with a full view of the dining room a la Forge Miami Beach 1980. We were told that The Grill has been operational for 40 years and is the best performing restaurant within Marriott's portfolio and the only remaining Grill. Our server who was outstanding had been here for 29 years. He explained to a T the specials and was both professional and friendly what you would expect at a 5 star restaurant. We started by selecting our bottle of wine a reasonably priced Pride Cab that was not heavily marked up. The wine list was extensive with a wide range of wines priced many priced reasonably and providing good value all the way up to top end Screaming Eagle. We elected to start with a great Caesar salad and followed up with two bone-in steaks, one being the 22 oz. bone-in ribeye for $98 and a 22 oz. bone in filet mignon special at $142 that our server described as being 14 oz. of meat and boy was it huge! The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly and delicious and the filet was soft as butter and very very good. We had fantastic Cajun spiced steak fries and great broccolini. For dessert we finished up with two souffles that are personal sized, one being a chocolate souffle with chocolate sauce and in asking for sabayon - they advised that while they could not they would bring out creme anglaise. The cookies n cream souffle was even better and delectable! Service was off the chart polished, unrushed and absolutely great. All in all the experience was beyond 5 stars. A truly unique restaurant standing the test of time and without a doubt the best steakhouse and best restaurant that we have eaten at in the State of Florida. For my sides I ordered the sweet potato mash and the herb and garlic fingerling potatoes. Wow!!!! This was absolutely incredible. I ordered my filet medium rare, and yes I wanted it that way. Since we loved Handsome Harry's we decided to check out the new Continental last weekend. Our evening plans were to enjoy an appetizer and cocktail at a number of establishments in old Naples. The Continental was our first stop. The bar was busy and all seats were occupied when we arrived. As we stood waiting, I noticed a couple about to pay their tab so we decided to patiently wait next to them until they left. We gladly sat next to a very nice couple that we had been talking with during our wait for these seats. As the bartender immediately leaned towards us, we were happy and ready to place our order for something to eat and drink, but were instead shocked when he told us that we would have to leave our seats as there is a "waiting list" to sit at the bar, although he did not produce a list or ask our names so we could be added to it. This was new to us. When do bars require you to put your name on a waiting list? The interaction with the bartender was not as expected as he behaved cold and matter of fact with an air of pretension. We stood up from our chairs, following "the rules". Our new friends sitting next to us were as shocked as we were, stating a bit more bluntly exactly how we felt about the situation. They said they were not put on a waiting list to get a seat at the bar and thought that how we were treated was a bunch of bull....! At any bar the normal protocol for acquiring a seat would be be just as we had done, but not at the Continental. Our family has had a home in Naples since 1968, and in all these years we have never encountered such rudeness. If you choose to patronize the Continental my advice would be to find out all "the rules" before you assume anything. We will not return and will continue to enlighten our family and friends about our experience. read more

We had high hopes after seeing the makeover from our old hangout, Handsome Harry's. The Continental is really beautiful outside and we really love sitting at the bar during the afternoon. We haven't been overly impressed with either the service or the food. The appetizers are usually pretty great, but our dinners have fallen short many times. I found them to be overpriced and underdelivering on our meals. There are so many great places in this town to get a great steak, that I can't see paying these prices for good steaks that have more than once come out cooked incorrectly. Stick to early in the afternoon and stick to appetizers and you won't go wrong. Elena is fantatstic and the only bartender who gives us consistently great, friendly service. Ask for her if you get a chance. read more

This was by far one of the most indulgent and impressive dining experiences ever. From the minute we were greeted by the host, I knew it was going to be exceptional. Everything delivered with class and importance, with an effort to offer an experience like no other. The wine glassware was exquisite, whisper thin rim and large, so you can enjoy a fabulous bottle's taste and aroma- such an important detail! The steaks were outstanding, exactly as the server described. She was so knowledgeable and knew the steak selections inside and out. As soon as I saw a pic of a lady with her dog in the restaurant, I'd give The Continental a zero if it was possible. Animals and eating establishments do not mix. We don't want dog hair/dandor in our drinks or food. We've seen dogs get into fights at restaurants. Growl at people walking by their table. No more for us. Too bad people can't leave their pets at home. Love pets, have them our whole lives but their not people! Stand up to these establishments by not patronizing them. Plenty of other places that forbid pets and want our money. read more

For dessert we finished up with two souffles that are personal sized, one being a chocolate souffle with chocolate sauce and in asking for sabayon - they advised that while they could not they would bring out creme anglaise. The cookies n cream souffle was even better and delectable! Service was off the chart polished, unrushed and absolutely great. All in all the experience was beyond 5 stars. A truly unique restaurant standing the test of time and without a doubt the best steakhouse and best restaurant that we have eaten at in the State of Florida.
