It's not that they have bad food; they can make a decent sandwich. It's not that they have bad coffee, or bake bad cookies. They actually do an ok job sometimes (don't get the croissants though. Raw in the middle). It's just that the service can be so distracted it feels like you're interrupting them when you go to the counter to order. And your food might show up all at once, or more likely whenever they get around to it. They may or may not forget your order while gossiping or arguing. They might over steam the milk in your latte. The soup might not show up with your sandwich. Your mocha might not be stirred, leaving all the chocolate in the bottom. And so on. But if you listen closely you'll know who is dating who and what they think of having to work shifts they don't want... Maturity, focus and attentive management would turn this cute concept into a shop to patronize. As it stands, we avoid it because we just don't need the frustration. There's nothing here that isn't being done better elsewhere. Nice idea, gen-z execution. Not recommended at this time. read more

I was driving through town and looking for something for breakfast. I stopped in and grabbed a egg meal muffin, cinnamon roll, and a coffee. Everything was fantastic and clearly made from scratch with fresh ingredients. It was a little pricey, but I guess that's to be expected in this area. The service was great & the interior is welcoming. Overall, I highly recommend you stop in. read more

Really lovely local joint- good coffee, breakfast, and lunch! (and cookies!!) Always very friendly, and there is always a place to sit and relax, even during a lunch rush. The prices are a bit high for how comfy and casual it is, but they're Stanwood prices, and the food is good enough to keep us coming back! read more

A group of us were on Camano when it was nearing lunchtime. We asked the locals where we should eat. They replied 'The Cookie Mill" in Stanwood. That is where we ended up having lunch. The place was busy. The cashier and waitstaff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and the cookies were wonderful. If we're up around that area again, we would definitely stop by The Cookie Mill for a meal. read more

We only tried cookies but they're amazing! Unfortunately two of the ones we wanted to try were sold out, which was the peanut butter chocolate chip and the oatmeal m&m. Bummer, but we still got some goodies. Our order consisted of chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and pumpkin spice doodle. The chocolate chip was alright. Dry on the edges but nice and chewy in the middle. The snickerdoodle was so chewy and yummy. The pumpkin spice doodle was a sugar cookie with a pumpkin spice frosting. The cookie was sooo soft and chewy. I loved it. I'd love to go back and try their food options. read more

This is such a cute spot (with a drive thru too). My sister and I dined in on a Saturday morning. We ordered an iced white mocha and an iced vanilla latte. For food, I enjoyed their cinnamon crunch bagel and she ordered the oatmeal. Both were delicious and the coffee was very smooth, nutty and enjoyable. They have ample seating and foods/drinks came out quickly. They have lots of sandwich, bagel, pastries and of course, cookies! I am looking forward to popping through the drive thru! read more

The ambiance was ok...comfortable seating. The "hot sandwich" was microwaved? Which made the bread chewy/rubbery, Definitely not toasted. Soup was too salty to consume. The cookies were huge but dry, tried 3 of them. Surprisingly disappointing since there's not much option in the area. Cute little cafe/restaurant serving a range of breakfast and lunch fare, including (as the name gives away) cookies. We got two sandwiches for takeout, the hot bbq beef and the Holstein prime (although I opted to sub for turkey instead of roast beef). The hot bbq beef was delicious! Who knew melted Swiss and bbq sauce went so well together? Great flavours, the only downfall was that parts of the hoagie bread itself were so hard we couldn't break it apart even with our hands, let alone our teeth. The Holstein prime was similarly good, we opted for the rye bread and it didn't disappoint. Very soft, spongey and had the perfect taste of rye I love. It was also huge! Would definitely opt for a half sandwich next time. The price point was a little higher than I expected - we paid $30 for two sandwiches and sides of lays chips that come with them. The full hot bbq beef sandwich was a LOT smaller than the Holstein prime in size despite them both being full sandwiches so I was left a little confused about the serving sizes. All in all, a good place for fresh sandwiches if you're looking to splurge quite a bit more compared to your Subway or Jimmy John's run. read more

Ventured north from Shoreline to Stanwood to meet up with family members for lunch at The Cookie Mill (12/30/17). From the Stanwood/Camano Island exit from I-5, head west on highway 532, it'll be to the left. I noticed there's quite a lot of growth and traffic in the past 25 years! It's an unassuming, mom/pop kind of place but clearly popular with the local demographic. It seemed within 5-10 minutes of arriving, someone put on the bat signal. The entire restaurant was mostly filled shortly before noon. There is quite the variety of sandwiches, baked goods, soup, salad, beverages including espresso. Orders are placed at the counter, pay, and you're given a number. Your order is then brought to you. Crowds don't seem to faze the counter staff. Food and drink arrive shortly thereafter, good indicator of an experienced crew. Sandwiches are hearty and comes with chips and pickle. I opted for a lunch special ($12.95) which was a half sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie, and choice of soup or salad. I tried a roast beef/cheddar sandwich on whole wheat, chocolate chip cookie, and cup of chicken wild rice soup. A lot of food! I ended up taking the chips and cookie home. Reminds me of lunch at The Honey Bear in Lake Forest Park. Recommend to not sit at the 5 top by the bathrooms and drafty entrance (especially if your visit is during winter and you're fighting a cold). Nice indie find in Stanwood. read more

I like supporting local places and Cookie Mill could not be any more local than it is. It's been around for years with a brief hiatus. I thought a quick lunch would be good. I had the daily special. A loaded French dip. It was done with cheddar cheese which isn't my favorite. Swiss would be better. The portion size was small and the quantity of meat was meager at best. Especially for almost $14. I'll keep my money and go elsewhere. Cookie Mill has plenty of regulars and will survive without my patronage. read more

The best cookies anywhere. My best friend Wendy brought me a container of five unbelievably all different amazing cookies along with a gift. What a great gift idea. They came in a nice clear container that you can put a bow on and all of the different selections and flavors, they are off the charts amazing. The cookie Mill is an excellent place to stop for great food, desserts, they even have a drive-through. A must if you live or drive through Stanwood. read more

My best friend and I visited the cookie mill in mid August on a weekend. The staff was overwhelmed but still incredibly slow. It took an incredibly long time to get my ham and cheese croissant and my friends cookie. The coffee was not even worth drinking it tasted like the espresso shot was burnt before it event went into my mocha. read more

Oh. my. gosh. What an absolute delight! We came here to try the cinnamon roll (which was totally worth it, coming from a self-proclaimed cinnamon roll snob) but also tried the pumpkin cake, snickerdoodle, and s'mores cookie. (And coffee). Everything was absolutely delicious, and I'm honestly sad we didn't stock up on more treats. There is a decent amount of seating inside this quaint little place. Along with pastries and coffee, they also serve some sandwiches, soups and salads. I am definitely planning a return visit. read more

Had lunch at The Cookie Mill one weekday last week. Both my granddaughter and I had the 1/2 sandwich and salad special. I had the Ruben which was 5 star and she had a chicken both were excellent. The salad was good but just basic iceberg with too many carrots IMHO. An Italian creme soda was good as well. The large cookies (Lemon and Snickerdoodle)included in the price we're both good. Over all a good lunch but a little on the pricey side. read more

A slight miss is that the price is fairly high ($5.25) for something that is not too substantial, and while flavorful, the cragel lacked the crispness / flakiness that you'd expect from a croissant.

Five months ago, on a Saturday or Sunday, my boyfriend and I had lunch at The Baked Cafe. The burgers were good, the buns were mediocre, and the fries were outstanding. The meal was over $40, without drinks. The owner was the only person working. After reading other reviews, we expected a wait, but over a half hour was excessive. There are only two booths, and we were lucky to get one. Because of this, you may end up taking your food to go or eating outside. I left a honest review after our experience, and the owner responded (more like reacted) quite unprofessionally. He mentioned Wednesdays; we were not there on a Wednesday. He mentioned that if we prefer "nutty" (it's Nutty's) or "five guy" (it's Five Guys), that he "felt sorry" for us. Well, I won't feel sorry for him when his business fails.

I think I've reviewed the burger before and maybe the sandwiches but today it's about the tots. Best tots in WA. Cooked to perfection yes but also lightly dusted with some flavorful spices to make it more than just some potatoes. Anyway there's plenty of seating around the bakery we just happen to get things to go on the way off island.

Instead, yesterday, I received coffee I neither ordered nor wanted. Getting through to customer service was very difficult. Each time I called, I was on hold for 15 or 20 seconds then told to leave a message. The representative to whom I eventually spoke essentially said (and I'm paraphrasing), "Tough luck." After pressing hard for some consideration, the manager said that the best she could do is offer a credit for one of the pounds of coffee I didn't order or want. I should have received what I ordered, been contacted that my order would not be fulfilled and why, or been credited for the coffee I neither ordered nor would drink. I have quit my membership and urge others to demand good service or quit as well.

They have so many unique options on tap, but for us non-tap drinkers they have decent options for white abd red wine and champs. Bundled outside, I had the most attentive service as a party of one plus my furry compadre. So kind, personable, genuine connection between 4 different staff members! Aside from the ridiculous prime rib dip I'll be dreaming of, the kindness of the staff is unmatched.
