Parking was effortless - scored a prime spot immediately. Bathrooms were decent, but the awkward part was standing around in many people's way based on the layout - very frustrating experience. Service was good, though a bit impersonal given how busy it was. The food and coffee, however, were exceptional--easily the standout. Lacked a little polish however the food was extraordinary and the service was pretty good!

Waitress was great, however the food was just ok. Both my friend and I didn't feel the need to take our leftovers, which for any busy mama is saying something. Beautiful restaurant, super cute, but not sure I'd go back again for breakfast.

Have heard really good things about this place- I wish I would've gotten more of a breakfast forward item as I feel it would've been done better(I got the chicken sandwich) The hot honey sauce was very good and the seasoning on the potatoes was incredible- I love when my potatoes are super seasoned and crispy and those were just that. The piece of chicken I got had some gristly bits which threw me off a little & I wish there would've been more sauce to dip it in as some bites lacked flavor. Service was good especially for how busy it was!

Everything on the menu is fantastic. You can't go wrong! Definitely make a reservation because this gem fills up quickly! Mocktails, bread pudding french toast, handmade bakery items.. there's not a bad thing on the menu!

Stopped in to celebrate a family member and was such a great time! We got their cinnamon roll to share and that is a must! The Bloody Mary was also amazing and perfect amount of spice in the spicy one. It can get busy so make reservations ahead of time if you can. It can be a little noisy when full but haven't had an issue with that before. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

This is a very cute place on eat street with a lot of great options. We went here for a friend's birthday dinner. We shared the bread basket and mozzarella sticks. I felt these were a unique twist on classic apps. I didn't love the bread basket personally but those I was with did. It was a chocolate rye bread and then I think a whole grain bread with horseradish butter, rosemary butter, and a sour cherry jam. The mozzarella sticks were 3 different types of cheese, 2 sticks each, and 3 different dips. For my entree I built my own flatbread with pepperoni and ricotta. Very good and lots of combination options for the flatbread. My friends all enjoyed their entrees as well which included the Mac n cheese, Caesar salad, steak, and chicken sandwich. You can't skip dessert, the cupcakes are super great!

I can't believe I've never been to the comprehend. Probably reflects the fact that it's hard to get me to go across the river in Minneapolis. But I am so glad I did. One of the many amazing restaurants Eat Street that everyone should go patronize, especially for the support they have been providing the neighborhood lately. I love the aesthetic. It's very cozy yacht a little industrial with the exposed brick walls. I would be cautious about sitting next to a wall when it's extraordinarily cold. But otherwise you're fine. Even though they were very busy, our server was very attendant. Brought me all the coffee refills I needed. I just had the drip, but it was excellent. I ordered the avocado toast. I thought it was a little high priced until they brought it. I could not get over the size of my meal. It was so huge. But more importantly it was so tasty. I don't often gosh about avocado toast. But this one was really good. Thick cut bread. Avocado salsa that just really held its own up against the toppings. There's a little bit of a kick of heat. Eggs were done just the way I asked. It was so large. I ended up cutting it in half and bringing the rest home to eat later in the day. What a wonderful brunch. I can't wait to go back.

This restaurant was the cutest! We were looking for a cute brunch spot to celebrate our daughter's birthday and this was it! I loved the vibe and the decor - so cozy, lively, and welcoming! The service was nice and friendly. The menu had a variety of items for everyone in our party. The entrees were unique, creative, and absolutely delicious! We tried the short rib criollo, the pork belly skillet, the quiche, the copper benedict, pancake, bacon, and the cinnamon rolls... everything was delicious! The cinnamon rolls were the best we've ever had - amazing!! This is a great spot to check out!

Very good Happy Hour spot. Atmosphere is always lively yet quaint. Bar seating for Happy Hour is spacious in the main dining room and not in the way of wait staff pathways. It's nice to be able to sit at the bar and not feel in the way or smothered by being in a direct pathway. Happy Hour pricing is the real stand out it's incredible we had a bottle of wine, steak sliders, fries and broccolini and bill was just over $50.

Ordered: Farmer's Brunch (~$18): scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (substituted) & sauce ranch crème fraiche, bread pudding French toast, and Ferndale turkey sausage Aya's take: Classic brunch spot in Minneaopolis. The Copper Hen has a very rustic vibe and a fairly standard menu, so you'll definitely find something for everyone. After some deliberation, I went with the Farmer's Brunch since it had a good variety on the same plate. The scrambled eggs were cooked well, I enjoyed the crispy and seasoned breakfast potatoes, and the turkey sausage was a great non-pork option. I love that bread pudding French toast is included in this dish. The bread pudding French toast was dense, sweet, but very tasty. I love a sweet & savory combo so this was perfect. For all this food, I thought ~$18 was a steal! Decent spot for brunch if you're in the area.

I rarely give 5 stars - but this place was excellent! Visiting from Houston and took my daughter - who lives in MN - to brunch before leaving - we decided on the Copper Hen. We ordered a few things and shared + she had leftovers for the week. Cinnamon roll was overly DELISH!! We split the biscuits and gravy - be warned this is a full entree. Ordered the daily quiche - fresh flavors and delicious. Our last dish was the pork belly skillet. We topped everything off with a champagne cupcake. AND the breakfast potatoes are OMGoodness! Wait staff were fabulous and friendly! The decor is modern rustic cafe - very cute.

I had a wonderful experience here for brunch. The service was great, and they were willing to split checks for 6 people which I really appreciated. I ordered the smoked salmon plate, which ended up being enormous!! The cream cheese was especially good. Next time I plan to order pasties ahead of time, because by the time I left around noon most were sold out. I also love that this is on a main bus line, as I value places that are accessible by public transit.

We arrived to our reservation early, but they were able to seat us immediately! We were here to celebrate a birthday, and we got a free cupcake because of it, which was very sweet. The servings were all very large, everyone easily took home leftovers. On a Sunday evening, vibes were great and just quiet enough to hear each other talk which I always love. Will be here again for brunch!

Great food, good vibes, and excellent service, but not as special as I had hoped. I brought a client here and we sat at the chefs counter. We enjoyed a range of starters and each had our own main. My biggest sadness is that the halibut was way over salted. The bison tartare was pretty good, and the tomato salad was great. My client loved her pasta. We were both a little disappointed in the squash blossoms special which really felt like a miss (so many great things to do with these... The preparation they chose was weird). The cocktails and wine were excellent and our server was lovely. The view of the kitchen was really fun. The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. There is parking! See note at the end…read more Also note... there are three businesses under the one roof here that people could be talking about in their Yelp reviews. I've only been to the cafe, but there is also a separate, fancy-seeming restaurant as well as a boutique hotel. (Also they have a shop in South Minneapolis that has its own Yelp profile, Alma Provisions.) I definitely recommend that you try the cafe! I had a great mocha here, along with a breakfast sandwich and a carrot-apple juice. High quality all around, and all of it was enjoyed in a comfortable and beautifully decorated dining room. There is quite a lot of food on the menu; I was there for breakfast but they have a lunch menu that starts at 11am which I want to come back to try. Again, my mocha was absolutely delicious and the fresh bread really elevated that breakfast sandwich. I was here on a September Saturday morning at around 8:30 and it was very busy; the wait to order was about 15 minutes but there is enough seating that I didn't have trouble there. In addition to plenty of indoor tables, there is a lot of bar seating and a good number of patio tables. On the West side of the building is a large parking lot, most of which is for nearby apartment buildings. But there is a sign that makes it clear that the spaces numbered 1-7 are for Alma customers.

Visited the Cafe and got the Up South sandwich (again). It's definitely an eat with knife and fork…read moresandwich. Trying to hold on and bite in, everything slips out, and you don't want to risk your clothes getting dirty. The smashed potatoes seemed a bit over done this time. So much, I'm turned off from giving another try. The tables are so close together. If you're a baby who's got back, you're in for a tight squeeze, especially trying to sit in the booth.
