Fantastic place to go for happy hour or even dinner! Great setting, the restaurant is set up in a way that even if it's busy you don't feel like people are over crowding you and its not to loud. Great place for business meetings too! We went as a large group and got to try almost everything on the menu! All of the food was fantastic, my favorite was the pan seared hudson valley foie gras, not something I normally go for but I had too and it exceeded everyone's expectations. My family went to the Copper Shark for Father's Day brunch. I must say it was a pleasant experience. The service was great and the food was tasty. I had the crab omelette which was good even though I'm not normally an omelette person. I originally wanted the chicken and waffles but changed my mind once I learned that the chicken pieces were all legs which aren't a preference of mine. My kids enjoyed their pancakes and breakfast meat. We had to put a meal together for them from the side offerings since there was no kid's menu. Our server suggested that we return for dinner since they are more well known for that course; I look forward to doing that one day in the future. read more

One of the best meals I'd had in a while. The brussles sprouts appetizer was the star. I have never had better Brussels. My Maryland born and raised husband loved his crabcake and the boardwalk style fries. The fried burratta was good, but probably won't order again because there were other options that I feel like I can't find at other restaurants. And my crab fra diavolo was good, but would probably not order again because there are other things I think I might like more. The food scene In Baltimore has been in transition as of late. It doesn't mean you can't find great food; it just means you have to broaden your search. Today our search led us to Locust Point to find what might be the best restaurant in all of Baltimore. No exaggeration! While we are waiting to be seated for brunch, a well stocked whiskey bar stares us in the face. The bartender tells us about the breakfast old fashioned (pictured) with bacon fat washed bourbon, maple syrup and bitters. Once seated the menus don't disappoint. We order the cinnamon roll, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and a breakfast taco. The cinnamon roll was rich and delicious with cream cheese frosting. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful and paired with a spicy honey that perfectly compliments. The waffles were Belgian style with pearl sugar surprise in every bite. The shrimp and grits was insanely good with plenty of large shrimp with flavor soaked tomato broth. I've never had shrimp and grits with olives but this absolutely works in the complex flavor profile that begs you to take another bite. I finally stopped to take a sip of the old fashioned. The aroma was calling me since our server, Halley, dropped it off. Chilled with what looked to be a hand carved clear ice ball and dressed with orange zest trapezoid it invited me to indulge. Sweet bourbon up front with bacony middle and a warm ethanol finish. Perfection again. Then I turned to the breakfast taco with chorizo, fresh guacamole, and pickled Fresno chilies. All those robust flavors blended together flawlessly for a delicious simple dish. All in great food, service and atmosphere. If brunch was this good I can't wait to drive up to B-more again and sample the dinner menu. With Rye Street Tavern closed, I think we found a new spot in Charm City for a guaranteed mind blowing meal. Also can't wait to try their sister breakfast spot Jam. read more

I went to Copper Shark for lunch with my coworkers. We shared a few apps and entrées. For apps, we had the Crispy Fried Burrata, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and Ahi Tuna Tartare. Of the 3, the Brussels were my favorite. For my entrée, my coworker and I split the Fried Local Oyster Po' Boy and The Copper Burger. The Po' Boy was really good. I've had fried oysters at some places that were chewy and nasty but the oysters on my sandwich were perfect. They were large, crispy and buttery. If you love charcuterie this is the place for you! Anyone who knows me knows I looooove charcuterie! I am a huge fan of wine collective charcuterie board so I had to try copper shark and was No disappointed! I was excited to see a new restaurant on mchenry row! The decor was swanky contemporary and very packed on a Friday! The staff seated us upon arrival for our reservation and our waitress was extremely nice. She gave us great recommendations! We started with the chefs choice charcuterie which had a offer of soft cheese. They were delicious! Great combination of cheeses and meat. I would recommend maybe more bread on the board or side. The drinks were also very good! I got a version of their paper plane. For dinner We had the crab cakes and chicken. The crab cake was good but could have been better! The sauce that came with it was delicious! I would give it a 8.5. The chicken was really tasty so I would give that a 9.3. We also ordered the peach cake which was good but a little dry. Copper Shark is one of the only upscale restaurants in Locus Point. Really great having a nice option for dinner other then local bars. It's a beautiful space in historic brick building with outside seating. The food and service was wonderful. The sea bass was amazing. Run (or Uber)- don't walk - to Copper Shark in Locust point. On the site of the former Wine Market., this brand new upscale eatery features well thought out decor paying homage to both the foundry in which it is located and the copper theme (yes, those are pennies inset all around the bar), excellent craft cocktails, a high-end liquor and wine selection, and well executed balanced upscale American dishes that are delish Although it now seems ubiquitous, the smoked cocktail is not easy to pull off, and Copper Shark adds a special presentation to it's namesake Manhattan. I won't be a spoiler, it's a fun way to get a drink. We were recommended Drink your Churro - really, it was good, but better as a dessert than a starter - Horchata (house made, we are told) rounds it out. The wine selection (limited for our visit, but easy to see in their wine area) is comprehensive with a good mix of varietals. As part of a limited opening (and full disclosure, we received our meals, and 2 drinks, gratis) we started with the Ploughmans Platter - a butcher block tray filled with cornichons, pickled veggies, a fantastic mustard but most importantly -tasty pates and a duck rinchard (not sure I am saying that correctly) which was like the duck and the fat had formed a perfect marriage. My partner got the asparagus - grilled to perfection and drizzled with an amazing sauce; I got the spring salad which had a perfectly balanced lemon vinaigrette dressing, goat cheese, and delicate lettuce. For the mains, I went for the scallops - while there were only 3 they were very large, cooked, as I said when I tasted them "perfectly perfect" resting on a delicious sauce and with some fantastic mushrooms on the side. My partner got the Lamb two ways - again, served perfectly perfect - medium rare filets all the way through and a side of melt in your mouth lamb tangine, surrounded by well executed vegetables. Dessert was a trio - lemon olive oil cake topped with local fave Taharka blueberry ice cream, and what seemed like some sabayon with blueberries, a huge mug filled with what I can only describe as ganache meets pudding meets fudge with a hint of fluff mousse topped with scratch whipped cream. The atmosphere is lively, banquette seating or large semi circle seating are inviting, overhead the gears and other parts reminiscent of the foundry are incorporated in the setting. The outside patio will be a show stopper when it is finished. Service was well informed and well paced and management was milling about checking on everything and everyone to make sure we were all doing ok. And what is the copper shark you ask? Well it certainly doesn't swim - they will tell you the story...if you ask. At the end when the check came it would have been about $80 per person before tip - for 2 drinks, shared appetizer, appetizers, entree and dessert. I can't wait to go back again. Get your Resy app ready to book this place - it will definitely be a new staple in B'more for those of us who think the food should be important, if not more important than the "atlas"-sphere. read more

She not only remembers every detail about us and the stories we have shared with her but she remembers every detail about what we have ordered in the past. We prefer to have her select our meals from the appetizers to the desserts every time we dine with her -- she nails it every time! If you want the full experience, I recommend requesting Hayley to take your dining experience up a notch. Give her an opportunity to select your meal and take care of everything for you. I met my daughter here for a late lunch which ended up being an early dinner. We ordered the Ploughmans charcuterie platter, which was well appointed with cheese and meat. It did have honeycomb with it which is always a favorite for me but there wasn't a spicy or funky item to pair it with on the plate so that was a little disappointing. We shared the crispy Brussels, the duck bolognese with angel hair and the tuna nachos. These were all well prepared and since we happened to be there during happy hour they were also on a slight discount. We both elected not to drink, but the cocktails that we saw being presented all looked well crafted and received since we ate at the bar. I would absolutely comeback again. The place is super cute. Has a really cool vibe and the music they played was great. The food was a huge miss. We had 12 people and only one person liked their dish - the shrimp risotto. The chicken and waffles - the waffles were over cooked and crispy and the chicken was only edible on the outside. The inside was pink and half the chicken had bones in it. The waitress was nice but lots of errors and she kept saying " oh the bartender is really behind" or " the kitchen overlooked you're meal". For the expense, the ambiance isn't worth it. I had been wanting to try The Copper Shark for a while now. My wife and I were able to make it in this past weekend. We had a 7:30 reservation, and were seated around 7:45. We ordered some cocktails and appetizers to start - I had a Boulevardier and my wife had the Strawberry Smash (both were delicious), and we ordered the beef carpaccio and the fried burrata. The carpaccio was very good, and the fried burrata was ok (I would have liked to see the arugula salad it was served over on the side, as the juices from the burrata leaked down onto it and made it a little soggy). For entrees, I had the duo of duck (roasted breast and confit leg) with a side of polenta, and my wife had the swordfish with a side of fried. The swordfish and fries were excellent. For the duck entree, the confit leg was some of the best duck I've had prepared at a restaurant. The roasted duck had great flavor, but was cut into appx. 1.5 in pieces, making it tougher than I expected. If it was sliced thinner, the breast would have been fantastic. The polenta was very good, though sweeter than expected. Overall, the food and drinks were great, and the service was excellent. The restaurant was lively, but not overly loud, and I enjoyed the overall vibe. We'll definitely be back! read more
