Copper Shark is a beautiful restaurant that has really revitalized the space and created a fun menu, with some classics and a few surprises. Overall the food and drinks ranged from ok to good, but the price point just doesn't match the quantity and quality of food in comparison to other nice restaurants in the city. Nothing incredible and nothing terrible. They were out of the pork belly appetizer but we got the fried burrata and bone marrow. Burrata alone is incredible, it is probably just one of those foods that doesn't need to be fried, a bit disappointed in it. By being fried, it looses the soft creamy center. Bone marrow was good, I would've preferred a baguette bread over simple toast. For entrees we got the duck, the lamb, and the scallops. While I enjoyed the scallops it was $37 for 3 scallops and a dollop of sweet potato. Sorry but no. That's over $10 a scallop, they could've at least had 4. And it came with a sprinkling of Brussels sprouts. At almost $40, they should give a whole side... The lamb and duck were also both good but fine, and their price points were the same - just under $40. I thought the duck was gamey personally but I just don't think I like duck! No one had any leftovers, which is fine. We also got cocktails and wine. Cocktails were good and seasonal, I'd return for those. Our server was also a nice guy and very attentive but didn't seem to have great manners as a server - he did not know much about the menu other than the steak (which none of us ordered). We probably won't return for a while due to the price and quantity of food, but maybe will try happy hour. I think Copper Shark is worth a try, but they have some kinks to work out! read more

Love a place with a parking lot so let's start there. Ample shared parking with a gym so we had no issues. We grabbed a couple seats at the bar around 5-ish just in time for HH that ends at 7pm (ends at 10pm on Mondays). It was pretty full but not too crowded. The dining area started to fill as we were leaving but nobody seemed to wait too long for a table. It had a warm nice vibe and even nicer bartenders. I got the Spiced Pineapple Daquiri which was delicious. We split a warm bread order which was tasty. For our entrees, my friend got the Pan Seared Diver Scallops which came with crispy pork belly pieces. It looked divine and there wasn't much left so it was definitely a winner. I had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts as an entree which were delicious. Writing this makes me want more. I'll be back soon to try more. read more

My wife and I traveled to Baltimore for our anniversary and I was on a mission to find a good restaurant that wasn't overly price and had a great menu. I looked at maybe 20 places and decided to try the Copper Shark. We found out they're very new. Well the fact of being new didn't matter with the 3 things I rate on...service, presentation, and taste. Here goes: Service: A+ Our waitress Elon was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu Presentation: A+ The photos should say enough Taste: A+ For appetizers we had the fried burrata and carpaccio. I haven't eaten at Copper Shark yet so this review is just for the bar. This place is brand spankin' new and very nice. The interior is like an upscale gastropub vibe. Nice bar area with booths and dining tables in the back. It's a great spot for a night cap or a date night. Their main attractions are their bourbon, whiskey, and wine list. I mean, their collection really is huge! My date found a specific kind of gin there that is his favorite and is apparently a bit hard to find (forgetting the name of it, of course). He let me try a bit of his gin and tonic and although I don't like gin usually, it was very yummy and well made. I had a glass of white wine that was satisfying and reasonably priced. The whole night I kept seeing bartenders playing with fire and smoking cocktails inside these beautiful wooden treasure boxes. I HAD to know what that was. Turns out it's their "American Treasure" cocktail. The menu lists it as "Our House Smoked Old Fashioned, Buffalo Trace, Simple Syrup, Bitters, Smoke". They literally make you an old fashioned and then smoke it inside this beautiful wooden box so it absorbs some of that woody, smokey flavor. Divine! Not only does it make a great photo op, but it's delicious. I'll be sure to return for dinner so I can write about the food next time! read more

It's new, it's modern, it's beautiful, and it's delicious! Trying a new restaurant for your birthday dinner is a little intimidating, but thankfully we chose The Copper Shark and we were blown away by the interior, the service, the menu, and the food. Everyone was extremely friendly and our server seemed new (to serving), but he was so kind, gave us fantastic recommendations, and was very attentive even though he was dealing with a packed section. The manager/owner also came by to check on our food and he had a great conversation with another diner who had a recommendation for a dish - I think it speaks volumes when the big boss is more than willing to hear how to make a dish or recipe better. The menu is expansive and has so much variety. I was honestly torn on which appetizer we should get, decided on a charcuterie board, and then our server let us know there was a special for a board that gave you way more for cheaper than the build your own. It was incredible, the cheeses, meats, and veggies were so good. For entrees, the steak and the lamb knocked it out of the park. I absolutely loved my experience at Copper shark. The restaurant has upscale yet warm and cozy vibes. It's a great spot for a date night, catching up with friends, or a larger gathering (they have a large patio and private rooms you can rent!). There's a sizable cocktail and drink menu, including a Corpse Reviver, which is one of my favorite drinks! The food was similarly inspired and delicious! The buratta salad appetizer was extremely well flavored, and the short rib entree was as good as it gets. Our servers were extremely attentive and gave very detailed answers when asked about menu items. There is a parking lot outside the restaurant. Easy access from Fed Hill and Locust Point! Been wanting to brunch here for a while and finally got the opportunity. Came on a Sunday for brunch a little after opening. I was solo, so I opted for a seat at the bar. The bar area was empty but the dining room was busy and buzzing. The bartender was attentive despite being swamped constantly pouring mimosas. I viewed the menu prior to coming, so I was pretty set on what I wanted. I ordered the crab omelette and coffee which is French Press may I add. The omelette, divine! All ingredients were fresh and the perfect accompaniment to each other. The omelette was filled with lump crab meat, fresh spinach, and Gruyère with a silky and decadent Old Bay hollandaise cascading over the top. Each bite better than the last! Oh, almost forgot the omelette came with these tasty home fries. I only ate a couple potatoes because my focus was that omelette. Everything was great here. The parking was convenient, the hostess greeted us promptly when we arrived and took us to our seats with no wait (we had a reservation). Our waiter was just attentive enough and provided good recommendations--get the brussels sprouts and bread pudding! Visited Copper Shark for the first time this weekend with friends. We had heard great thing. Here is an overview of my experience: Atmosphere: Elevated atmosphere with both a dining area and bar space. Definitely geared towards adults and those looking for a nice night out. Service: Waitress was attentive but not pushy. Manager stopped by to see how we were doing which was a nice touch. Food: The majority of the food was excellent. The fried burrata, tuna tartar, tasting of Berkshire pork, coffee rubbed short rib were superb and I would highly recommend them. They were all well plated too. The scallops and Bolognese were fine. If you order Bolognese just be prepared for more of a fall/squash type preparation vs traditional. Finally the octopus was not good at all. It was extremely gummy and really hard to get through. I wouldn't recommend ordering it. Drinks: I was looking forward too their cocktails and bourbon selection. The bourbon selection was excellent and well priced. The cocktails looked great on paper but fell down on execution. We tried two different ones, the Melange and The Return of the Mack. Both were poorly executed with a lack of balance and intended flavor profile not coming come through. Parking: Parking lot in front of restaurant. Watch out for certain areas of the parking lot that have rules and restrictions/towing notices. Short review: Just GO! As you may imagine, great staff is half the battle. THEY ALREADY WON THAT ONE, hands down! I entered on a whim to enjoy an IMPROMPTU date with myself and was greeted by an awesome hostess who graciously gave me the option of bar, high-top, or dining area. I definitely opted for hightop and was immediately handed off to another member of this team. The synergy among the team here was amazing! Ahhhh-mazing. My server recommended that I try the meatballs while closing her eyes briefly to describe how good they were. SOLD! I also requested the curried cauliflower. So the eyes closed oversold the meatballs, which were good, but they should never, I mean NEVER serve them with that M'Fn Curried Cauliflower! Ever. I almost went vegan! I don't curse(often), and I eat meat, but whoever made this carefully curated CURRIED CAULIFLOWER made me curse and consider giving up meat again. Yeah, that good. And it just got better after that . . . . The Lobster Fra Diavolo was ottimo! They warned me of heat and a slightly different texture, but everything was perfectly balanced (and I love heat). By this time, my sister-cousin(shellfish alergy) showed up, and it was so good, I advised she take a benadryl and pull out the epi to try it. Yeah, I was kinda serious about it. She said her cheeks would swell up like Hitch, and I was thinking I'd risk it(j/k). ****INTERLUDE**** BTW-Midway thru my meal, another dope hostess arrived, and this sista channeled her inner Angela Davis while rocking her ninja mask. GORGEOUS. I felt like NEO from the Matrix when the woman in red passed every time. Did I say how Ahhhh-mazing their staff was. Behind the bar, kitchen team, hostess, and cleaning crew, everyone performed their task with an almost GODLY attention to detail. They put my plate on the table with a cloud like gesture. OK, back to the rest of my meal. **** THE APPLE CINNAMON "slap ya grandma" BREAD PUDDING! I needed more room, I was full and ready to risk it all. It delivered. I'll just recommend you ask for an extra side of the caramel to prevent you from scraping the plate. I could only have 2 bites, well, maybe 3 or 4 before I was full. To go, please! Ok, you romantic affectionados, looking for that perfect tucked away spot in the Baltimore area, This is it. A beautifully adorned location right on the harbor to spend the evening or even several evenings at. We opened with a prime beef appetizing dish, which, while a bit rare, was delightful. My friend stayed a bit conservative, having the soup and onion bread, which was a bit hard, but was quite tasty. My main entre, salmon, was prepared to my perfection, garnished with a flavorful sauce and a side of corn . Actually, I was so immersed in my meal that I forget what my friend dined on that evening, but from the emptiness of her plate well before I finished, I can only gauge that it too appeased her palette. Bottles of wine, a bit pricy, but a glass of chardonnay ran about $9.00, which was flavorful and worthy of its pricing. We loved our first visit and why we returned and were so disappointed with most. The service was mediocre at best; we asked multiple times for some bread, some butter and olive oil. The butter tasted very off--and we were charged $1 for two toasted/grilled slices. The salad was basically a pile of spinach leaves with a tiny bit of goat cheese sprinkled, a few tiny nuts and four blackberries in the corner of the plate. The fried chicken was excellent with good cole slaw and pickles, what saved the day. I was hoping to avoid the New Year's Eve crowd by going out on the 30th. It was still pretty busy but I was lucky enough to grab a table by the bar with my partner for dinner. This restaurant is stunning. The atmosphere is cool and everyone who worked there was friendly from start to finish. And the food? Amazing! My partner and I each got a couple of drinks and shared 2 appetizers and an entree. The first appetizer was bone marrow which was my second time having it and it was delicious. It was served with two pieces of bread, greens, and mustard. The second appetizer was duck bolognese, my mouth waters just thinking about it. I wasn't expecting a lot because of a previous mediocre experience with bolognese (at a different restaurant), but this was decadent. It cleared the slate of my previous experience and I truly considered producing another serving since I was sharing. This was easily my favorite dish from the night. Our entree was their Halibut and was also delicious. The presentation was beautiful and it was easy to share with another person. Each little element added something to flavor and it was so good. We had brunch here about a year ago. We did not come back because BF loves pancakes and he did not enjoy their pancakes. However, everything else was pretty good. As we have been spending more time in Baltimore, we decided to try them for a late lunch/early dinner. We have had dinner here multiple times. The vibe here is always positive. It really feels like the employees genuinely enjoy their jobs and just working here in general. That makes such a difference in the experience. And for that, I will continue to come back. As for the food, we have tried quite a few things and have not been disappointed. My least favorite dish is the octopus appetizer. That was my first time having it at Copper Shark. Maybe it was just an off day for the chef or maybe that's just the way they prepare it. It was just a little too tough/chewy for my taste. The bread, the brussels sprouts, and the lamb Bolognese are my go-to's. The mocktails are yummy as well. Desserts are good too. Service is always A+. New place we're trying, which is always fun. 6:30PM reservation in a nice corner table. The place is industrial modern and pretty hip Christian is our waiter, and recommends a nice Cabernet, Banshee, which I explain to him what it means. A spirit that howls before someone dies!!! We order the appetizers which is carpaccio and duck bolonaise. Also the tuna tartar. The main course was fillet mignon. The food comes out quickly, and is very good The two appetizers are my main meal. The carpaccio is enough for all of us to try and the toasted burratta-like bread we've asked for goes pretty with this dish! The duck bolognaise with tagliatelle pasta, is delicious and plentiful. Very filling. My guests love their fillet mignon. Medium rare just so perfect. We end with dessert, a chocolate crème, really a mousse with whipped cream I have a decaf espresso. There is a spacious bar area as well as large dining space. Outdoor seating was beautiful. The food was good and I'd definitely come back for the dinner menu. We had a few bites but spent more time exploring the drink menu. There is a nice selection of whiskies and scotches. We got there and it was not very busy. It took a while for servers to check back in us on drink refills, especially given that it was not very busy. But that changes thankfully and one of the bartenders became very attentive. We live within a short walk from The Copper Shark, so was quite a surprise to see it pop up on the map for restaurants! After our first visit, can happily say this is one of our favorite additions to Locust Point, and has a great chance to become a regular staple for us. Anyone dining in or around Baltimore should absolutely come check this place out! Place was gorgeous, ambiance was just the right vibe, and service from Ariana was stellar the whole night! For food, we split a bunch of appetizers and one entree: -charcuterie (how is it not Shark-cuterie!!): we got the ploughman's platter, great value and very good meats, cheeses, and accompaniments -fried burrata: this will clearly be a staple for the restaurant and was amazing, a fully formed dish already -octopus: very well prepared, we thought a second sauce with some added sweetness or zest might add to it on top of the squid ink, but still really good! -bolognese: another great value on apps list and thought this was delicious -Scallops: perfectly cooked, dish was extremely pleasant. -profiterole dessert: really good! Drinks aren't something I usually rave about at a restaurant, but all the cocktails here seem wonderful. The strawberry smash in particular was exquisite if you like a drink on the fruitier side. This place was so yummy, that I went here two weekends in a row. Housed in a historic building, your immediately greeted by the red-brick walls, exposed beams and a really nice intimate bar space that leads to an open and airy dining area. Now on to the food and drinks. I'm a big fan of beef carpaccio, it was so delicious. That it will be my go to here. Also their ahi tuna tartare was so nice and clean on the palate, just wish more came on the plate. It was a nice mix of avocado, cucumber, pickled fesnos in a delicious citrus vinaigrette. For dinner we did herb crusted halibut and slow roasted lamb loin, for a side we had the summer mushrooms. All our dishes was cooked perfectly. The halibut was nice and flaky, the lemon dill sauce was a very nice touch. For dessert we did the trio of Tahakra Brothers ice cream. Their ice cream is always the best . They also have a really nice cocktail menu, some of my faves were the Coupe Destil( their gin cocktail) and the Copper Shark( smoky bourbon Manhattan). Overall Coppershark is a nice addition to the Locust Point side of town, I highly recommend trying either for lunch or dinner, or stopping by for an after work drink. Overall decent but not fantastic. Has only been open for two months, so I will track the menu and reviews and plan to come back in the future once they work out some of the kinks. Ambience - decent decor. Relatively spacious. Odd entranceway, where you have to walk through a narrow corridor between the bar and bar tables to get to the back dining room. Super awkward. Service - decent, but not great. Hopefully the wait staff become more familiar with the menu over time. Also we had to ask to order at each stage... and luckily we ordered entrees when we ordered apps because they all took forever to arrive. Drinks - good wine and cocktail selections. Same sides and comments as the flat iron steak. -grilled Thai style ahi tuna - decent sear. A bit of an odd item given the rest of the menu. A reasonable option. Worth ordering / decent. -herb crusted halibut - well prepared and seasoned. Worth ordering / decent. Dessert: -milk chocolate pot du creme - phenomenal but a small portion. Not suitable for sharing unless you are full from dinner. A 'must have' item. -affogato - huge portion. Very shareable. A 'must have' item. -grapefruit olive oil cake - cake was ok. Blueberry jasmine ice cream was tasty. Worth ordering / decent but not a 'must have'. As you can see, very few 'must haves' and none of them were entrees. If you order the 'must have' apps and desserts, and pick a decent entree or two (perhaps to share), you could certainly design an overall reasonable meal. read more

We walked in without reservations on a Saturday night and opted to sit at the bar while we waited for a table. Bar service was a bit slow, but it was a busy night and they had just rolled out new cocktails. By the time we got our drinks we had a table waiting for us, which was a nice surprise. Our server was very nice and attentive. The bar menu and the dining room menu is different- so if you are looking for a burger you'll have to sit in the bar area. This was a bit disappointing, but there are many other good options on the menu. We opted for the octopus, scallops, and 8 oz flatiron steak. All three items were very good with good flavor and I would recommend all of them. First time, went by myself. Harry was great, he helped me pick two appetizers because I was stuck between wanting 4 things and it's like he knew exactly what I wanted my food experience to be like! Their cocktail list is extensive but didn't have any NA cocktails so I asked, and they made something custom for me. It was so delicious and tasty! I ordered the summer salad and the risotto caprese. I absolutely loved both. This place obviously specializes in charcuterie boards, and while I didn't have a charcuterie board this time, I can tell they do it well because the small touches of cheese (goat cheese in the summer salad and mozzarella in the risotto) were SO fresh and delicious. Went to this place about a month after it was opened so they got most of their kinks out. The wine list was decent (however our server didn't know too much about wine pairings but offered to grab someone who did). My husband got the Old Fashioned and it came in a cool box with smoke in it and was presented to him. It was a little awkward when our serve walked over and just held the box open for him and not saying anything like "grab the drink from the box" since you normally don't just grab a drink from a server. For food, we loved just about everything we got. The entree list was a little lacking in variety so we opted for a charcuterie board and several appetizers. The chefs board was MASSIVE and delicious, definitely worth the $18. Our only complaint was that the squid ink pasta was just okay. Didn't have anything special to it and tasted pretty bland. Wow!! I had the most amazing dinner at Copper Shark. We started with charcuterie that included a fantastic assortment of house cured meats and huge variety of cheese. Then scallops that were perfectly cooked, seafood marechiara, short rib Wellington. And everything was paired with the most delicious wine that our server recommended. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I dove into it all too fast. I slowed down by dessert and took to a picture of the Nutella Semifreddo. I advise you to save room for dessert because it was great! There are not enough words to describe how wonderful the staff is. I really felt it was a fine dining experience. An absolute gem of Locust Point. The food is incredible every time I have gone. Stumbled upon them the first weekend they opened and it was a match in heaven. The duck bolognese is a must-have and they know it because they even give you options for sizes of the dish if you are at the Bar. Drinks are always changing but always have good taste. They did have a rough start for their drink menu but thankfully they figured out what they were doing wrong. Service is usually quick with 5-10 min waiting for drinks assuming not too busy, then food in another 10-20 for apps then mains again after that. Ambiance is expected. My wife and children took me to the copper shark for Father's Day brunch. Everything about the brunch was great. The restaurant space is nicely done having turned what seems to be an old mill into dining and bar space. Everything was nicely appointed. Clean lines and higher end finishes seem to always make a space feel great. I had a bloody Mary, and shrimp and grits. Both were great! The bloody Mary was one of the best that I've had in a long while. My wife had a grapefruit mimosa, lump crab omelette and potatoes. She really enjoyed her meal as well. I tasted her omelette and potatoes and thought that I could eat that meal the next time that I go to copper shark. My kids had pancakes. One had bacon one head sausage and they seem to like them a lot. The breakfast sausage was homemade and had a really good taste. I would definitely try that again. Our server was great. He was knowledgeable and was able to point out some things on the menu as well as make the recommendation that we return to the copper shark for dinner without the children. Lol. He said the copper shark is known for dinner and it recently started to do brunch and all the brunch options are great. Dinner is even better, I'm sure we're going to take his advice. Overall the ambiance was great. They have inside and outside seating as well as a bar area which you can sit. It's quiet, not noisy at all, so you can have conversations at a normal tone or even at low tone and feel right involved with your party. Will be sure to return! read more
