[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located in Santana Row, this place is crowded on a weekend and okay during the week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love how customizable the burgers are, you can literally pick everything you want in your burger. They do add up so beware!! This place is pretty expensive for a burger place but the service is immaculate and extremely helpful. Everything tastes great though and the fact I can half halfsies of different potatoes elevates the whole experience. I would definitely try this again but when I feel like I want to splurge!

    Its still open

The service was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is very clean and everything seems in place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked from the mall parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice scenery outside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the service was 10/10 very attentive and brought us drinks right away! We came as a party of 6 and everything was great. Great kids menu options and portions . We received a paper to check off all the items we wanted in our burgers. They came in all at the same time. Definitely recommend this location!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here on a Saturday night, the day before the Super Bowl. Santana Row was crazy busy but the crowd wasn't too bad here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the southern fried chicken and it was really really good, chicken had nice flavor and was moist and the Dijon sauce was amazing. The shoestring potatoes, probably the best ones I've ever had. Even after 10 to 15 minutes later, they were still crispy.

The Counter Santana Row is the fast casual sandwich/burger joint you never knew you needed. The staff were friendly and attentive across all the tables which are good for big and small groups alike. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were able to pick our seat, either inside or the heated outside seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to go the custom burger/sandwich route and it did not disappoint. The Custom burger/sandwich/salad menu was huge and took a bit to complete, but totally worth it. Portions are sizable so be prepared. Also totally throw in the spilt two sides of the fried onion string and shoestring fries. We've had the tater tots too which are also a great choice. I will give a shoutout for those trying to be calorie-conscious, they do have the counts on the menu to help keep track. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great fast casual spot on the square.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu next time.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ate lunch after finishing the San Jose 408k run. Sat outside to enjoy the nice weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our group was tired and hungry and a milkshake sounded good. Ordered the jalapeño burger, 50/50 with sweet potato fries and tots nd the chocolate mint shake. Everything was good and the server was friendly. Will need to come back more often.

Good burgers! They have a huge menu that you can customize with so many options. They also have non beef options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly service and relaxing atmosphere when I was there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Indoor and outdoor seating are available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can also choose to pay by QR code on a smartphone.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location, came and ate outside by the fire while the kids ran and played in the open play area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Attentive and friendly staff. Nice pours on cocktails, good presentation and food. Brussel sprouts are amazing, sweet and spicy! Im not really a fry fan but I like the cut of their fries and the crispiness, it was loaded up with parmesan and garlic and had a nice taste of rosemary. Decent prices.

My husband and I decided to enjoy a little lunch date on a Friday afternoon. We had a gift card for The Counter and thought it would be a good idea to use it before it expired. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in and seated indoors. Although the weather was perfect for outdoor seating, we had our laptops with us, so we opted for the indoor table. We started with the Fifty Fifty appetizer, choosing sweet potato fries and tater tots. Both were tasty, and my husband especially enjoyed the salt on the sweet potato fries. For the main course, I tried the Sonoma Bowl. I wasn't expecting a literal patty on top of the salad, but I can adjust. The overall taste was a 6/10. The basil pesto helped make it more enjoyable, but I had to ask for extra to finish the greens. My husband ordered the Bacon BBQ Burger and swapped out the cheese. He said it was just an average burger. Unfortunately, this is a 3-star review because of the service and appetizer. Everything else didn't feel worth the price or the drive down from Union City to San Jose. Paying $19 for a burger and $18 for a salad, especially with no sides included, felt excessive. Overall, we won't be returning to this location, or any other for that matter.

Can't go wrong with this place! Family favorite for years. Food has been consistently good. My favorite is the Create-Your-Own. With so many options, it's fun to mix it up each time. And even the pickiest eater can create a solid meal. Service is mostly good but recently they got our customizations wrong which takes the fun out of creating your own. It gets busy over the weekends but with indoor & outdoor seating, the wait isn't that long.

There has been talk for many years that the Counter Burger Santana Row location would close. But 18 years later, it's still there and still super busy. The ordering process is still somewhat similar but the prices has increased dramatically. For 2 burgers and a side, expect to pay about $50. No more free cheese and other extra toppings can end up making your burger well over $25 and up. However, the quality of the burger is still there and each burger is juicy, perfectly cooked and loaded with great toppings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is friendly and the restaurant still looks the same since day one.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I especially love the "love" mural inside the restaurant, near the kitchen door entrance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, if you're craving for a gourmet but customizable burger, head on over to the Counter Burger which is just one of two locations left in the Bay Area.

Solid burger spot with great vegetarian and vegan options. They have both a vegan veggie patty and Impossible meat. You can request a vegan menu that specifically lists what's available. We always build our own burgers, and it's great to get unlimited toppings. My hack is to get the grilled pineapple on the side for dessert.

Came out on Wednesday during Santana Row farmers market. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was not busy our party was 2 kids and 2 adults. Got to sit wherever we wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a bison burger, bbq burger, kids meal of chicken tenders and sliders. Food came out quick and kids loved their meal. My bison was ok nothing special.

First and foremost, the sandwiches slam…read more And I say sandwiches, but, I've only ever had the breakfast burrito and the chicken sandwich (I think it's called the hot one or something like that). Because. Every time I get there I just cannot not order one of these. That loaded burrito is the best bar none breakfast burrito I have ever eaten. So on a scale of deliciousness, this is an epic winner. I switch between the pistachio and coconut late because it is, again, delicious. Not too sweet (I don't like too sweet), and with plenty of that flavor. So many times have I ordered a coconut latte at other places to only have the slightest hint of coconut. Not here, no sir, these Lattes are truly flavored and flavored well. Easy parking. Open early, so I don't have to wait till nearly noon for breakfast, is just the icing on this cake. What a fantastic sandwich shop and drinks bar. I honestly thought I had written a review, so was surprised that I had not, so here it is. The place is clean. Large windows in the front for natural light. Quiet and calm. The seating is convenient and easy, although, and it's probably just me, but, my knees struggle for comfortable sitting since the table legs are in the middle of the table, so I tend to have to sit sideways, but, that's really not an issue since I'm not sitting there for hours. Love this place, we feel lucky to have this available to use on the weekend mornings to get a great start to the day.

And at the same time, the flavors were not really there for me. I got the chipotle chicken and the chicken itself was not the best cut of chicken because you still have a lot of tendon in there and fat so you can tell it's cheaper cuts and not like the chicken breast. Inside was clean and nice. It was not busy at all when I went and that was surprising for a lunchtime during the week. Ultimately, I ended up reading it lower because paying about $18 for a sandwich that was average.

Customers usually come in, grab what they need, pay, and head out, which keeps things moving smoothly. One of the best things about this bakery is the incredible variety of pastries and breads. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, there's plenty to choose from: melon pan, loaf bread, dinner rolls, chow mein bread, spaghetti bread, sweet potato bread, crab and roe bread, tomato bread, apple pie, and so much more. Don't skip the refrigerated section either! They carry fruit sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, fried bread, donuts, somen noodles in a cup, and other delicious grab-and-go items. They also offer rice balls and drinks that can be ordered at the register. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and give them a try. Small businesses like this deserve our support!

Clover Bakery & Cafe is a small Japanese-style bakery and café that feels like the kind of…read moreneighborhood spot you randomly discover and keep coming back to. We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.
