What I like about The Counter is there's a great degree of freedom to customize your burger to create something really unique. I ordered the grilled chicken breast burger with my 5 customizations being: roasted red peppers, cheddar cheese, raw red onions, a tomato slice, and a grilled pineapple slice with teriyaki sauce. You can see it was quite a moundful of food. It tasted great and was pretty filling with all the extras. The multi-grain bun was a little hard (the bottom part), which seems like it could have been a day or two older than freshly baked, but it was OK in this case since there was moisture from the burger contents. Ordering was easy, pickup was on time and convenient, and the location was easy enough to get to in Santana Row. The price has really gone up though over the years. I think a handful of years ago it was $12.99 or so and now it's $17.99, and they limit the customizations to 5 whereas it was unlimited (or at least I didn't hit the the limit) before. So the value isn't as strong as it was before, and actually, it's of questionable value at full price. My husband and I decided to enjoy a little lunch date on a Friday afternoon. We had a gift card for The Counter and thought it would be a good idea to use it before it expired. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in and seated indoors. Although the weather was perfect for outdoor seating, we had our laptops with us, so we opted for the indoor table. We started with the Fifty Fifty appetizer, choosing sweet potato fries and tater tots. Both were tasty, and my husband especially enjoyed the salt on the sweet potato fries. For the main course, I tried the Sonoma Bowl. I wasn't expecting a literal patty on top of the salad, but I can adjust. The overall taste was a 6/10. The basil pesto helped make it more enjoyable, but I had to ask for extra to finish the greens. My husband ordered the Bacon BBQ Burger and swapped out the cheese. He said it was just an average burger. Unfortunately, this is a 3-star review because of the service and appetizer. The ordering process is still somewhat similar but the prices has increased dramatically. For 2 burgers and a side, expect to pay about $50. No more free cheese and other extra toppings can end up making your burger well over $25 and up. However, the quality of the burger is still there and each burger is juicy, perfectly cooked and loaded with great toppings. It consist of All-Natural Angus Beef, Provolone, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Fried Onion, Sautéed Mushroom, Garlic aioli, and it's between a freshly Baked Brioche Bun. I'll take it, with some Parmesan Fries. Now this is an incredible Cheeseburger. There's nothing more All-American than a Cheeseburger. This gotta be one of the biggest Cheeseburgers I ever had, it's giant. The Cheeseburger is phenomenal. They did really great, putting this together, I like how it doesn't just all fall apart, it kept its structure. It looks like a gourmet Cheeseburger. This is everything I want in a Cheeseburger. The Parmesan Fries were incredible. It was thoroughly seasoned, and coated. The Parmesan, was real Parm Cheese.
