Top-notch diner in Morrison. Lots of great options and excellent service. Ate lunch here 11/4/25

Out of towner traveling with the wife and baby and was brought here with a friend, who's a local, after visiting the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Our friend and her husband really enjoy this place and LOVE their coffee. I'm going to be honest, the food that I had was just okay. However, the service was excellent. My wife and her friend ordered the Morrison slider and although there were so many other delicious sounding options, I passed on them because I just wanted something "lighter" so opted to go with one of their "specialties," the fish tacos. That was a mistake. The fish tacos were bland to say the least. The flour tortillas they served them on weren't even warmed up on a pan and stuck to the plate and to each other so it made a mess as they fell apart when trying to pry them from the plate. When I was finally able to pry them apart and took a bite, the cold flour tortilla stuck to the back of my teeth. Even with the guacamole, the tacos didn't have any flavor that would have it stand out. Fortunately I was able to part take of my wife's order of Morrison sliders which was much more tasty. However, the kitchen didn't cook the side of sweet potato fries that came with our order well enough so some bites you were getting partially cooked potato which is odd since you'd figure they would have batches of whatever is in the fryer on a timer to make sure this doesn't happen. Anyway, if I could do it all over again I should have just thrown caution into the wind and gotten one of their deep fried decadent offerings. My only recommendation is to avoid the fish tacos. read more

My husband had the Cowboy Breakfast, and it was hearty and delicious. The portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. Stopped by for lunch after going to the red rock ampitheater. Seemed like a cozy restaurant. Food was just ok. We got a side salad and chicken sandwich to split. Fries were good. We were checked on by 3 different servers, so service was quick. However, I am not sure that the communication between them was great. We told one of them we were considering dessert, and then the other 2 both dropped off checks. Decided just to pay and leave instead of staying for dessert. Not really a super big deal, but we just felt a little rushed out the door. Bill was about 30$ so I personally think it was a bit expensive for what we were getting. read more

Cozy and busy food stop just a few mins from Red Rock amphitheater. Diner feel with diner style eats. Service was friendly, but it did take a bit for our plates to come out. My dirty chai was good, the breakfast was pretty standard fare. No complaints. They had a really good breakfast enchilada or burrito (I'm not sure which one) that kept coming out and that thing looked tasty! If I went again, I'd be trying that. read more

My wife and I like eating here because the food is good and the place is no frills. It's like a typical place where the 'locals' eat after they've tried all the fancy places in town and keep coming back to when they want a consistently good meal at a good price. The last time I was there I had a French Dip. The beef was served on a fresh slice of French bread. It was very good! read more

Before hitting some slopes at Loveland Ski Resort, my friend and I met up at this cute breakfast place in the heart of Morrison to get some protein going. The location is perfect; easily accessible from I-70, the service is fairly quick (although there were barely anyone at the restaurant at 7am sharp so I hope they are fast in serving people when it's packed.) They have something quick from oatmeal bowl to bagel with cream cheese to something more filling such as eggs with protein to omelet, I mean you name it! You'll definitely find something that'll entertain your eyes and tummy. The workers were nice, courteous; after we got our food, they checked up on us to ensure everything was good. The restaurant's name says it: it's a cow themed place. There are/where all kinds of cow related decors throughout the restaurant. The inside of it is not super spacious but when the weather permits, you can sit outside in the patio. It's not just a breakfast place; they have a decent cocktail menu so there is a way to booze yourself up if need be! I wasn't looking for something big so I got me a cup of oatmeal (enjoyed this one) and sweet potato homefries (they were alright, not super impressive.) Overall, this is a decent place. I'll consider coming back here for a breakfast if I see fit in the future although it may not be a place to drive all the way from my DTC neighborhood just to come here to eat breakfast to be frank. We always enjoy eating here, but get to Morrison rarely. Breakfast burrito was wonderful and substantial; the Killer avocado toast was exceptional. Love eating in the patio, too. Weekdays are busy but we had no wait on a Tuesday at 11. Server was efficient and not chatty (appreciated) but also not at all rude or snobby. Just right. read more

i had a gluten free buffalo chicken grilled cheese and my fiancé had the gyro burger, both were good and i liked the fries. it was decently busy, even for a tuesday, which was a promising sign. the service, however, was disappointing. our server hardly acknowledged us, did not check in at all after we had our food, and dropped off the check without a word after we had been eating for maybe 5-10 minutes. she also mixed up our drinks and gave me a regular coke instead of a diet, thankfully i am not diabetic so i didn't get sick. i'm a server myself, so i'm hoping our server was just having an off day, but the service was pretty disappointing. i would likely come back for the food alone, though read more

Ordered 30 min ahead for to go. Got there and it took another 30 min to get the food...that's 1 hr! Burger was supposed to be med well, but came char-burned. The chicken strips were so hard that I needed a hammer and anvil to cut them. Not worth the wait or the money. read more

We arrived for lunch without a reservation and were surprised to be seated within 10 minutes. Service was quick - drink orders taken right away and food orders after drinks were served. Order were: Fish tacos, BLT (hold the spicy), arugula salad and garden vegetable salad with salmon. My friend thought the arugula salad was decent. A bit too much fruit and chicken was over cooked but was edible. My other friend ordered the BLT (hold the spicy). It was very dry (the wait staff did not offer an alternative to the spicy aioli) and "the worst BLT he's ever had". My husband had the fish tacos - "decent" but couldn't figure out the type of fish. Had to ask for salsa. Last and least was the Signature Garden salad with salmon. I asked for oil and vinegar dressing and asked the wait staff if it was olive oil. She said yes but when she brought it to the table, it was easy to tell that it was NOT olive oil. Any oil other than avocado or oil is unhealthy. The menu description (diced, blanched seasonal veggies, and sunflower seeds) is erroneous. Blanched asparagus and squash but large chunks of raw carrots and jicama. The lettuce was tossed into a bowl from a premixed salad with large pieces and the salmon was overcooked. The tomatoes were very underripe - no flavor a very firm texture. Needless to say, I was underwhelmed for a 13.99 salad + 6.00 for overcooked (probably cooked the day before) salmon. Our total bill was $83.00 + tip. We assumed the wait for a table and busy staff was a tell that the food was decent. So disappointing! PS - The wait staff did not ask how I wanted the salmon cooked. We did not complain to the wait staff because we did not want to wait for another order to be prepared. If you are not aware of the health issues with seed oils, here is more info. The food was amazing, I had the cinnamon roll before my chicken fried chicken A+ serve also, Sam was great, attitude was fun, very knowledgeable with the meal and surrounding activities. So the service here is the true star. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Thank you so much. The food? Er ah not so much. Pluses??? The Root Beer was good. My order of wings were not crispy. Served at a tepid temperature. The Thai Chilli sauce tasted exactly like the one that can be bought at Trader Joes...oh no! My Burger tasted really prefab. The meat was very mediocre and cooked weirdly....loose and wet. The fries were luke warm and not crisp....fries must be crisp..that is a capital offense. Maybe next time I am at Redrocks or hiking up in the hills I will stick with the Ice Cream. We came to breakfast this morning. We ordered drinks. They took long to get. We order a biscuit with green chile, the huevos rancheros, an omelet, and egg breakfast. The green chile was not green and didn't taste like chile. The huevos rancheros came out as a giant tortilla on a plate, with some potato's, cold beans, and egg. The omelets were dry. read more

Small space with a small parking lot for free parking. Be prepared to wait on weekends. Quirky decor really leaning into their name. Servers were checking on our table regularly but also are standing nearby if you need something. Food quality was pretty good. No complaints but also no real standouts. We love The Cow! It is a tradition for the Tri Velo Series Mtn Bike camp to head to The Cow after a day of riding. The window staff & the owner are awesome - pleasant, smiling & accommodating to a large group of kids! The big favorites with the kids are cherry dipped cones; root beer floats & milkshakes. They always have a cooler of water & a water dish for dogs! There is bike parking on the side and it is right off the bike path. Seating can get crowded - especially shaded seating but it's a popular place! The umbrellas are rarely put up & that would help but apparently wind can be an issue. The only issue is the manager can be a bit gruff with customers. In a few occasions we have asked if we could put up the umbrellas & the window staff said yes. It was a heat advisory. The manager yelled at the coaches putting up the umbrellas. This happened more than once. Nonetheless - we still love it. And the food is also great - they have a nice open spot to get great burgers & other yummies! Best place in Morrison! read more

We stopped here for lunch after a hike. We had a bit of a wait because this is a pretty popular spot. The service was great and the food delicious. The music wasn't very loud outside so we were able to have a conversation without shouting. That's a big win these days. I would eat here again. read more

Took my kids and mother to breakfast this morning. We were going to go to blackbird Café in Kitteridge but it was closed so decided to try the cow, what a mistake. I ordered a redeye and the two egg breakfast with bacon and fruit and no toast. The redeye came out with no creamer sugar, the waitress told me she would be right back with cream and sugar and never returned until my coffee was cold but by that point I had drank most of it. The food came out pretty promptly which was a promising sign, however the food was a major disappointment. My eggs were cold, brown, and overcooked, along with several berry stains on them. The Bacon was OK but thin and lacked flavor. The fruit was unwashed and looked filthy. When we received breakfast, I asked for a side of green chili and it came out after we had finished eating and the table had been cleared, and was added to our bill. The waitress did end up removing that charge, however when she handed me the digital payment machine, she automatically checked off at 22% tip. Which I find very forward and unappealing. I'm not in the habit of leaving bad reviews for restaurants, but I feel that people need to know what they're up against when they come here. We usually love The Cow. When we pop into Morrison, we will get ice cream or a drink and it's always great. This morning we ordered takeout for breakfast and sadly, it wasn't good. I got the Benedict with the spicy hollandaise and it was actually inedible and I'm a spice person - the sauce has zero seasoning and way way way too much chile powder. My husband got an omelette and it was a very thin piece of egg with very few ingredients. Neither was worth the price at all especially because I couldn't even eat mine. Coming all the way from Atlanta, we inadvertently ended up in the area and found The Cow, and oh boy am I glad we did! Nestled near Red Rocks, the views are unmatched. The restaurant has such a unique small town charm, but what really sold it for us with the staff, service, and food. This place was the best priced lunch in Morrison and has the best soft serve with sprinkles. We will surely visit again when we are in Morrison. I enjoyed a buffalo chicken wrap with fries which was great -- their fries are big cuts of potato. Service was on point even thought we waited 40 minutes for a table. read more

All I can say is "excellent"! Came in on a Saturday morning around 9 am for breakfast, and were seated right away. The table service is outstanding here, and multiple servers take care of you in sort of a shared arrangement. I ordered the 1 Egg Breakfast with fresh fruit. The turkey sausage was tasty and there were a variety of berries, grapes, and pineapple in the fruit bowl with my sourdough toast. We had breakfast outside in the back, in the covered dining area. And while it was cool outside, the warmers were working fine. There is plenty of parking next door and on the street. The Cow an eatery restaurant on Bear Creek Avenue in Morrison Colorado sells ice cream. They note that coffee and expresso are specialties. Oddly they do not sell coffee ice cream, only soft serve vanilla and chocolate much like the Carvels in our area. Then they have shakes and can add things like malt or flavors for extra fees. Originally just opting for a vanilla shake and noticing banana and strawberry listings, I opted for that with a request for a real banana mixed in. It tasted average and again not really being what was wanted in the order. I had gone into the restaurant and at the bar I was asked if ice cream is the only thing I am buying there. As I noted yes, I was directed to the outside window. I noted to her that I'd been there and there was no one there. Oh, the young man had stepped away. So that is where I went to put in the order. The man and woman at the window were friendly enough. When I asked about fresh made hard ice cream I was directed down to the end of the town to another place which, when we got there to that location, it was closed. Oh well. read more

I've heard so many great things about this restaurant, that I decided to finally try it for breakfast. Unfortunately, the food and service were disappointing. I ordered chicken waffles and the hot honey was so watery and tasted like vinegar. It was not good. I should have tasted it before pouring it all over my food! The server asked if I wanted a box to go, seeing that I ate only a few bites and I told her no. She didn't ask if I enjoyed the food. And the most annoying part of our experience there were the insane amount of flies inside the restaurant. read more
