Well well well looks like we showed up at the perfect time. After a morning of laboring at a community garden we needed something to eat ASAP. Well Morrison answered our prayers to day at the cow an eatery. To start we got a sangria, beer and AMAZING. BURATTA. CROSTINI! It was so good. The place was bustling and it seemed to me that the team was working cohesively. I also had a delicious veggie burger was genuinely filled with veggies and beans and quinoa YUM and healthy to rev me up again after the hard morning work. Sangria was otherworldly. And I modified my burger some and they got everything right so don't be afraid to get what you really want. LIKE tater tots. My partner got a fish sandwich and vegetarian green Chili. All I can say is "excellent"! Came in on a Saturday morning around 9 am for breakfast, and were seated right away. The table service is outstanding here, and multiple servers take care of you in sort of a shared arrangement. I ordered the 1 Egg Breakfast with fresh fruit. The turkey sausage was tasty and there were a variety of berries, grapes, and pineapple in the fruit bowl with my sourdough toast. We had breakfast outside in the back, in the covered dining area. And while it was cool outside, the warmers were working fine. There is plenty of parking next door and on the street. Don't give this one a second thought, and try it soon for breakfast or lunch! read more

The Cow an eatery restaurant on Bear Creek Avenue in Morrison Colorado sells ice cream. They note that coffee and expresso are specialties. Oddly they do not sell coffee ice cream, only soft serve vanilla and chocolate much like the Carvels in our area. Then they have shakes and can add things like malt or flavors for extra fees. Originally just opting for a vanilla shake and noticing banana and strawberry listings, I opted for that with a request for a real banana mixed in. It tasted average and again not really being what was wanted in the order. I had gone into the restaurant and at the bar I was asked if ice cream is the only thing I am buying there. As I noted yes, I was directed to the outside window. I noted to her that I'd been there and there was no one there. Oh, the young man had stepped away. So that is where I went to put in the order. The man and woman at the window were friendly enough. When I asked about fresh made hard ice cream I was directed down to the end of the town to another place which, when we got there to that location, it was closed. Oh well. read more

We usually love The Cow. When we pop into Morrison, we will get ice cream or a drink and it's always great. This morning we ordered takeout for breakfast and sadly, it wasn't good. I got the Benedict with the spicy hollandaise and it was actually inedible and I'm a spice person - the sauce has zero seasoning and way way way too much chile powder. My husband got an omelette and it was a very thin piece of egg with very few ingredients. Neither was worth the price at all especially because I couldn't even eat mine. Very good environment with a few different seating options. Patio is quieter + nice, counter is busy but friendly, and the main room is active but comfortable. They serve very good comfort food combos. Breakfast is hearty. I always end up with some egg/potato mix which is perfect. The biscuits and gravy are not incredibly heavy and has good flavors. Coming all the way from Atlanta, we inadvertently ended up in the area and found The Cow, and oh boy am I glad we did! Nestled near Red Rocks, the views are unmatched. This place was the best priced lunch in Morrison and has the best soft serve with sprinkles. We will surely visit again when we are in Morrison. I enjoyed a buffalo chicken wrap with fries which was great -- their fries are big cuts of potato. Service was on point even thought we waited 40 minutes for a table. read more

I've heard so many great things about this restaurant, that I decided to finally try it for breakfast. Unfortunately, the food and service were disappointing. I ordered chicken waffles and the hot honey was so watery and tasted like vinegar. It was not good. I should have tasted it before pouring it all over my food! The server asked if I wanted a box to go, seeing that I ate only a few bites and I told her no. She didn't ask if I enjoyed the food. And the most annoying part of our experience there were the insane amount of flies inside the restaurant. read more

We came here before checking out Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park as it's super close by and parking is free unlike most of the downtown Historic Morrison. We showed up for lunch and were told it was a 15 minute wait and they'd text us when our table was ready. It was probably closer to 30 minutes but luckily we were able to walk around the shops across the street to keep us occupied. We were seated outside and it wasn't too hot. Our server was very friendly and made some excellent recommendations. We all especially enjoyed the dill pickle flavored Bloody Mary, strawberry and goat cheese crostinis, and the Ruben. The portions were huge and most of us couldn't finish. The bathroom was cute with a ton of cow paintings. Our one complaint was that while eating we had an issue with some bees that were bothering us for awhile (maybe due to the flower pots we sat under?) Needed a kid friendly place for lunch and the Cow an Eatery worked just fine. Unfortunately, (for us) weekends are overwhelming, and the wait for an inside table was excessively long. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather. What we did not know is the Cow, considers outside on their tables as "takeout." We were told to expect our food in 15 minutes -- it came out as ordered in about 45 minutes, so they are not fast. Since outside is takeout - that means, in a Styrofoam container, in a bag, with flimsy plastic utensils. You have to ask for condiments, napkins and anything else you might want to accompany your meal. The burgers were great -- nicely prepared and tasty. Chicken nuggets were excellent as was the mac and cheese. So food was good - worth the wait. The Cow also has ice cream -- go figure-- soft serve in vanilla, chocolate or swirled together. Its Lactose Free -- I really like that. Limited parking available in their private lot. read more

A fun and hidden casual gem! It's definitely more family-oriented, but the food is good, the staff is nice, and the outside patio was great. My husband and I were in town for a concert at Red Rocks and of course pretty much every other restaurant had too long of a wait. We ended up here, sat down immediately, and had a lovely dinner. We shared the Brussels sprouts (it was came out quickly and was more than enough to share), and the gyro hamburger. The food was A LOT and very tasty. Almost too much to share! The Cow serves a fantastic veggie burger, I think called a Halo burger. Sooo good. The man ordered a Reuben and said it was great. Service with a smile, but be patient because the place can get really busy and orders can take a while sometimes. Our only complaint was the strong smell of old, stale cigarette smoke, which we think was emanating through the dining area from one specific employee. Hopefully management will deal with that person directly. read more

I ordered the breakfast burrito and outside of the sausage which is fantastically seasoned, the rest falls flat including the green chile that tastes like Stokes from a can and the thick slices of cheese semi-melted on top. My husband ordered the hash and a cup of coffee. The coffee he didn't enjoy at all, said it tasted burned and didn't drink it. The hash he said was "alright". This food was horrible, my friend and I both ordered a breakfast burrito for $14.99 ... the potatoes were burned and not edible, the eggs were burned and dried out and the green chili had zero flavor. how is this horrible food even allowed to be served? Their mac n cheese is delicious. The Buffalo strips could've used a little extra sauce on them, but overall it was delicious. Their cheese curds were also very good. A tiny bit salty, but still gooey and the sauce that comes with them is good. The service was a bit slower though. You can go up to the window and order if you don't want to wait for a table. We ate there yesterday after a morning hike to Lair of the Bear. The system worked well, placing ourselves on their wait list from the bottom of the trail. The menu was pleasantly diverse. The salads were great as were the seafood Mac& cheese and the chili rellenos. The diners at adjacent tables raved about their choices - It appears the whole menu is successful. Such a cute homey place with huge portions. I had the French dip. It was so huge I couldn't eat it all. The French bread was soft and moist. The meat was tender and flavorful. They have a great menu and even drinks and desserts. Definitely a must stop in the way to Red Rocks. The menu offers a large variety of dishes from Sandwiches to bruschetta, a full espresso bar as well as cocktails. I always have to start with a dirty chai and an Italian soda...yum! Drop $50 and get plastic and told no way , not once but multiple different times that customer our front don't get real silverware. Total bs. Sorry you don't treat a customer that way. Long time customer no more. "Come inside we can give you a knife and fork". No more 20% to go tip for you or your "staff" ever again. Again- even after you ask specifically before payment that REAL silverware would be included this visit on front patio. Then the manager heard and made sure we were given ONLY plastic!
