'No shoes, no shirt' is not applicable to this Venice local morning haunt. Acai bowls, sandwiches, bagels, pastries, coffee, matcha. They offer anything you could want pre-2pm. I like the vibe in here, I think there's a quieter study spot upstairs, but tables outside and some limited bar seating inside. I particularly like the open windows. The line and food service moved fairly quickly. The pastries were just ok, hence the 4 stars. I've had better, lighter, moister croissants and scones. The iced strawberry matcha was a bit too syrup-y, but nonetheless delicious. This spot is very reasonably priced by California standards and on a great street to walk around.

Cruising up Washington Street toward the Pacific (American?) Ocean, I spy a coffee shop with a half-dozen or so men of a certain age (viz. old) sitting outside. Thus, "The Old Guys Rule" is invoked. In we go. Busy, busy, busy. Good local vibe. The barista keeps the line moving. Coffee is very good. Pastries were just ok. The prepared burritos and açaí bowl looked good.

Adequate breakfast place. I had a wrap, my wife had a chocolate croissant, plus a very large coffee with milk for her and organic Earl Grey tea for me

Came here one Sunday on the earlier side for breakfast. A small, cramped ordering area with any bottled/canned drinks in the back. The guy at the counter taking orders came off a bit gruff at first, but quickly softened and recommended the avocado/egg-white toast. Seating's non-managed, so I just grabbed a table (alas, I had a family at the table behind me with a screaming toddler yelling in my ear the whole time, ugh). After a while I went back inside to see if they had my order ready, which they did. Food was good, but not that memorable (for breakfast you won't soon forget, I highly recommend Eggslut up the road!). Ate my food quickly and boogied outta there wishing I'd gone to Eggslut instead. :-(

Popular coffee pot on Washington in Venice Beach with a casual vibe with lots of locals. Picture a lot of gen x surfers, bare feet, dogs and a smattering of tourists. Coffee is decent, pastries subpar, but prepared food (bagels, sandwiches and salad) looked good.

We stopped here for brunch while renting bikes, and it was the perfect little spot to take a break. The area is super cute, though very busy, so expect some crowds. I got the Venice smoothie--it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. My date, on the other hand, got a bagel sandwich, and wow it was amazing! The bagel was huge, fluffy, and just perfect. Definitely had some food envy! Overall, a great brunch stop, especially if you're in the area and looking for something casual but tasty. I'd come back and try a bagel for myself next time!

Had a delicious iced mango matcha latte and sat inside the treehouse like space admiring the pothos growth crawling around the space. It's very quirky, with multiple levels and kind staff. Went right to the beach after!

We go here before our walks at Venice all the time. For my fiancé, it's one of her favorite strawberry matchas. For me, one of my favorite iced vanilla latte's. They also have a great assortment of baked goods. I got a sugar free churro donut and it was amazing. Highly recommend trying it if you're on the sugar free wave!

    Great coffee! Great service!

It's a good spot for people watching. And the food is pretty fresh. Coffee was okay. But, ambiance is lacking.

Everyone seemed to recommend this place, so I figured it had to be worth the hype. Plot twist: I didn't realize it was vegetarian until I was already looking at the menu. Normally I'd be a little skeptical, but WOW... I never once found myself wishing there was meat on my plate. I ordered the Spicy Italian pizza, the oyster mushroom "calamari," and a glass of wine, and every single bite was delicious. That pizza though... It was hands-down the star of the meal. Crispy crust, packed with flavor, and honestly one of those pizzas I'd happily drive back to Venice just to eat again. The oyster mushroom "calamari" was also surprisingly convincing. Crispy, flavorful, and a really fun twist on a classic appetizer. And here's the real review: I took the leftover pizza home for my parents, and we all know leftover pizza can be hit or miss. Somehow this one was STILL amazing straight from the fridge. That alone deserves bonus points. If you're shopping on Abbott Kinney and need a break (or if you're just looking for a really great meal), don't let the vegetarian menu fool you. Even this meat lover left completely satisfied. I'll absolutely be back... mostly because I'm already thinking about that pizza.

I loved the matcha latte and avocado toast so much that I decided to drive two hours to come experience the café in person as a treat to myself. Unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed. From the beginning, the service felt unfriendly. I tried showing my server what I had ordered previously because I wanted to recreate the experience I had before, but I didn't feel like she was very receptive or interested in looking at it. When my food arrived, the avocado toast was completely different from what I had originally ordered. When I explained that it wasn't what I had received before, it became clear there may have been a misunderstanding in how the order was entered, but the interaction made me feel uncomfortable, as though I was being treated like I had caused the issue. I wasn't looking to complain -- I was genuinely trying to clarify what I wanted. On top of that, service was very slow and my order wasn't taken until about 20 minutes after I was seated. My matcha latte was also disappointing compared to my first experience. I made a special trip because I had been so impressed the first time, which made this experience especially upsetting. I understand that mistakes happen, but I hope there can be more attention to customer service and communication in the future because I left feeling unwelcome and sad rather than excited to return.

So... take my review seriously!!! I tried almost all their food and can give a detailed rundown on each one. They have amazing, amazing, amazing food made with love here and employees that are incredibly kind and funny. They're welcoming and you can tell they really enjoy working at Rainbow Acres and want to spread good vibes. Their food is made in house, from scratch, exactly what it is. No food dyes or processing. Just fresh, straightforward food for a good price. RAINBOW ACRES MADE ME SHED A TEAR. I was so incredibly ecstatic to find an healthy, grocery CO-OP near me. The smoothies are great, they sometimes have samples. They're all delicious and they also can be paid with EBT. Their guac and chips was actually the best I've ever had from a grocery store. The guacamole had enough salt and lime, like... whole foods and chipotle guac was PUT TO SHAME. Well-seasoned, super chunky, cilantro, red onion, tomato, mmm, and those chips were actually fresh tortilla chips. So crunchy and light. So yum. God. Their sandwich was insane. Slices and heaps of chicken breast for double the price of a sprouts sandwich and quadruple times more tasty. Don't second guess it, just get it!!! BBQ chicken and ranch salad was insane. I ate it in like 10 mins and my stomach was bulging. When you see it, it will be irresistible. The grilled chicken is marinated and covered in a sweet bbq sauce and their housemade ranch is seasoned deeply, comparable to wingstop's ranch. Crunchy lil tortilla chips and crunchy salad with some roasted corn. Every single thing in that plate had its own flavor, unlike the prepackaged slop at other stores. However, it was close to $20... The fruit tart was FRESH and yummy, a tad sweet, but all the fruit was incredibly quality. The crust left a little to be desired, but great nonetheless. Their hot deli food is great too. We got a parm crusted chicken breast and it was very juicy and flavorful. The samples were great, even their curry is packed with flavor. Their turkey chili was insanely hearty and delicious, thankfully not too salty. chili mango is the best my boyfriend claims he's ever had. immense selection of unique canned and bottled drinks. They make their own green smoothies and juices in glass bottles, but there's also local branded magnesium teas, adaptogens, sparkling waters, etc. LOTS AND LOTS of vegan options. Great selection of teas and medicinal herbs and pure oils meant for the skin. I picked up some grapeseed oil and snacks. Some of the prices here are cheaper than whole foods, but some are more expensive. I really love Rainbow Acres, but some of their prices can be expensive. However, when factoring in the quality, freshness, and how the food is SIMPLE AND CLEAN AND HOPEFULLY AS ETHICAL AS IT CAN BE, it justifies the prices. The employees are always helpful, so it does help to imagine that the higher prices go to them as well. I'm really happy that this place exists.
