I've lived here all my life and for some reason was always on my way to or from somewhere and never had enough time to just stop and give this place a try. Well, I finally did and I'm glad. I had a fresh bagel and cream cheese and realized I had forgotten to ask for tomatoes. When I told him I wanted to pay to add tomatoes he told me not to worry about it! I love that this is an independent business. The cafe was nice and clean, which I appreciated. I will definitely make time to go back. On a side note, I have fond memories of this corner as a child since my parents used to have a booth when it was kind of a flea market in the '70's.

Cafe Collage is your classic mom-and-pop gem in the heart of Venice, located right across from the iconic Venice sign. What makes it stand out is its hours -- one of the few spots that opens early and stays open late (7 AM to 7 PM), which is rare for the area. The menu is impressively large and eclectic. It's Korean-owned, so you'll find everything from teriyaki chicken bowls and bánh mì sandwiches to buttery croissants, hearty breakfast burritos, fresh juices, teas, and solid coffee. I really appreciate the variety. The clientele is just as diverse -- from locals and creatives to tourists passing through. Service is generally quick, and the vibe is super relaxed. They have free Wi-Fi, lots of natural light from the big windows, and a cozy layout that makes it great for getting some work done, reading a book, or just enjoying top-tier people-watching. It's got character, charm, and a sense of community. One of Venice's OG spots -- treat her with love, and she'll return the favor.

I'm pregnant and vegetarian, so I ordered a croissant with egg and cheese and specifically asked for the eggs to be fully cooked. The person at the counter smirked, as if I was stating the obvious. When the sandwich arrived, it came with bacon, so I had to send it back. They apologized, but the replacement came out with eggs that were very runny. My husband had a bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese, and he said it was just average. Definitely not going back.

Located in the heart of Venice, Cafe Collage is within walkable distance of the beach and from many storefronts. Like anything in this area, parking poses a great challenge but there is street parking just down the way (you just need to find an open spot), unless you want to pay $20/hr. The cafe itself has a breakfast based menu with coffees, smoothies and breakfast/lunch meals. The staff are really sweet and helpful, they recommended the spicy chicken burrito (which was HUGE and very tasty). Pricing is pretty standard for Venice Beach (approx. $25/person for each to get a meal and drink). I want to emphasize that their portions are HEFTY and make the price definitely worth it. Plus inside it is quiet and a nice reprieve from the outside chaos that is venice boardwalk (cute space to people watch). Will be back again soon for the spicy chicken burrito :).

YUM. I stumbled across Cafe Collage while walking down Venice Beach one morning. I was looking for a quick place to grab coffee and breakfast and this spot exceeded my expectations. The employees are so friendly and the service was very quick. I ordered an iced americano and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. I wish I could go back in time and have it all over again. Definitely stop by and check it out for yourself!

Great vibe. Coffee man was kind, funny. Heated up my gluten free banana bread just a little and delicious decaf latte. Great music too.

This lil cafe in Venice Beach has a bit of everything from breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, asian bowls, coffee, teas, smoothies, and bobas! Came by after a walk on the beach. I ordered the bagel lox, a cream cheese bagel and an iced chai tea latte. Service was friendly. While waiting, we were given iced water. I noticed portions were large, salmon was fresh. One of my family member ordered a turkey sandwich but she got a tuna sandwich instead but they remade it. Overall, nice clean cafe with plenty of options.

We were told this was a "hip" place in Venice to stop for a coffee while touring around. I have to say, I was super disappointed with the experience. I had a huge group that came in, probably almost 15 people and everyone got a coffee. The woman working was very sweet, but it was the product that was the issue. I don't think there was one person in our group who said they enjoyed their coffee. And a majority got lattes- fairly simple and standard drinks yet they tasted just, off. I'm not sure what it was but I don't think I'd come here again, for coffee at least. It is located in a nice spot just a block off the beach and the Venice Skatepark, as well as Muscle Beach and such.

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

First let me say that Nahum, who helped us was excellent. The absolute perfect balance of checking on you but not overdoing it. If it weren't for Nahum, morning sun, and the breeze, I think we would have sent back our plates and left. Really. We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. The staff are dressed in matching white t-shirts and pants, and the shirts say "All-Day Cafe." However, we walked in a little after 3:00 PM and found out we couldn't order smoothies (which end at 3:00) or breakfast items (which end much earlier at 11:00). For an "all-day cafe," that felt like a bit of a misrepresentation. Since it was very, very hot outside, I was disappointed that they were serving lukewarm water. Unfortunately, there was no vegan pizza on the menu, but our first waiter was very, very nice and friendly, and he had the kitchen accommodate us by omitting the cheese, substituting olive oil for chili oil, and adding spinach. The pizza turned out to be very thin, but yummy, and my party also enjoyed the ceviche. I had an iced coconut coffee that was absolutely delicious. After our first waiter ended his shift, our second waiter, Mike H., took over the table and never checked on us not even one single time after someone dropped off the food. When a small issue came up with one of the plates, he was just so nonchalant and dismissive, and Mike didn't add to the ambiance of the place at all. Fortunately, I believe it was a manager who then stepped in with a smile and addressed the issue, which was really nice. Aside from that unfortunate service experience, the food and drinks were tasty, but the misleading menu hours, lukewarm water on a hot day, and inattentive waiter definitely left room for improvement.

I come back to the general indifference of the staff because it feels somewhat dated and unnecessary in this day and age. Perhaps it's easier on the team not to respond to my thank yous or words of appreciation. Then again, perhaps they're simply not necessary. Why bother to say thanks when thank yous are not acknowledged? Like, at all. It harkens back to a day when being treated shabbily by a restaurant was a sign of a restaurant's elite-ness.
