Wanted to try this because it had such great reviews. For COVID, they have outside seating setup and spaced out lines. They have a wide variety of wraps, burritos, bagels, sandwiches, smoothies, and you can get an acai bowl. The wrap was huge with a side of salad and 2 pieces of orange. This place is always busy with a line out the door! But its definitely worth the wait. The staff are friendly and everyone has their "station" so once you order the food/drinks are out pretty quickly. On my first trip to Marina del Rey, I was a little dissapointed in the actual building/establishment of the cafe. Uncllean and cluttered, previous reviews made me feel like this was a great place to study. I have to disagree. While the staff was super helpful and the iced coffee I ordered was wonderful, the place only accepts cash (c'mon its 2020) and isn't conducive to a productive thinking environment. Next time I'm in the area, this will be a "stop by and grab a drink", not a "stay to enjoy" situation. read more

The cows end cafe is an awesome breakfast spot with tons of options! We went in and got a decent cup of coffee, one of the açaí bowls, and the BLT breakfast sandwich. All of them were fantastic. This place DOES accept credit cards, even though many reviews say they do not. This changed during Covid. We will be going back plenty of times! read more

The coffee is amazing. I ordered a white mocha latte with hazelnut. Very delicious, better than Starbucks I dare say. However, I used the yelp app to order my food. And I asked for eggs on my BLT bagel sandwich, and I came to find out that not only was their no egg (by the time I drove home, I'm not from the area, just stopping through near a hotel down the street) that I paid extra for on the app, but that the sandwich was cold and not a hot sandwich. I should have paid more attention there I guess. But also the bacon was limp and the sandwich was primarily lettuce (yes I understand BLT). I would maybe like to try another sandwich, but this one was not very good. We went on a food tour in Venice Beach. Our first stop was Cow's End. I got a chai latte and the açaí bowl was included in the tour. The açaí bowl was on of the best I've had to date. It was green. The açaí smoothies was topped with raspberries, granola and honey. It tasted like pineapple,spirulina, raspberry, mango and banana. The place was like a reprieve from the crowd. There is a bathroom behind the kitchen. Follow the maze. Service was quick. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place was a decent coffee shop. Everything about it was average. The coffee was okay, nothing notable. The drinks were pretty standard also nothing notable. The guy behind the register was nice, but either a) didn't know the menu very well or b) couldn't be bothered with helping us. In addition to our drink, we also got a coffee cake - it was stale or a few days old. Overall, I'm not sure what I expected this close to the beach and essentially the closest place to the water. I usually like to put my cash into local businesses, but I'll probably just go to the Starbucks up the block next time. read more

There's a WiFi password but I could not get it to work, despite trying out different parts of the cafe. Walking distance from the beach and near other Venice spots like Hinano. The Alaskan toast with egg whites and smoked salmon on ciabatta was delicious. The pickled onions, capers and fresh tomato slices were a nice addition to enhance the flavors of the smoked salmon. Really cute cafe for studying and eating and is walking distance to Venice Beach, which is a huge perk. I love studying at cafes near the beach so that I have the option to sit out after getting some work done. The menu is pretty lengthy and there's a lot of healthy options. I ordered a salad that was alright and came with orange slices. You order downstairs and then wait for your name to be called for your food, but you have to stay downstairs because you won't be able to hear them if you go back upstairs to the tables. There are trash bins upstairs for you to throw away your food and return your plates when you're done. The wifi was a little slow when I came, so I ended up using my hot spot on my phone. Minimal amount of power outlets. It's a cafe that's mostly self-serve with simple meals that were okay in my opinion. I'd most likely come back to get a drink or acai bowl rather than the meals. I mostly enjoy its location and the nice treehouse-like feel as a study spot. read more

This is a cute country style cafe located just right outside of the Venice beach. I bought a special from living social and gave it a try. Not all that thrilled about their coffees, but they do have good sandwiches and smoothies! Didn't stay long enough to enjoy the cuteness of the place. Parking may be a drag since its street parking and you know how the few parking spots are in the alley of Venice Pier. Location: It is really close to Venice Beach near Ocean Front walk. On Washington and Ocean Front Walk, there is $5 parking from 6am-midnight. The People: The barista was very helpful and nice, people come here to hang out in the first world and they have a designated study/work area in the second floor. The Drinks: I got a large cold brew, it was good. Food: I did not order any food, but if one wanted to, the kitchen closes at 5pm. So if one's goal is to eat then study, I advice coming at 4pm. Work/Study: This was a great spot to study. I asked the barista and he said that the best time to come study upstairs is between 5pm-8pm. I came here on a Monday and had the whole second floor to myself for an hour and a half. I was so happy. The Venue: It is a pretty quiet place to study. Of course, one can hear the people outside working, but it is not distracting at all. Lots of spots to sit. It is cash only so bring enough cash to get you by. Upshot: One of my favorite spots to come do some work. I recommend (if one brings a laptop) to come with it charged. There are charging outlets but not every seat has them so come prepared. read more

There are so many coffeehouses on Venice, but this one stood out for me the most because of their local friendly service. I really enjoyed how most of the locals here knows each other. I also enjoyed how super friendly and very energetic the staff here too! Love their outdoor seating. I was able to sip my cappuccino on a nice afternoon, and even met a nice local who gave me good tips where to go on Venice. Also, don't forget to checkout their second floor. It's so funky and awesome all at the same time. There are bike parking up front, and I don't recommend driving as this can be a challenge, so take a nice walk and stroll instead and head on in!! This place has many options, made with quality ingredients. My smoked salmon panini took quite a bit of time, but when I got it, they didn't skimp whatsoever. You could find me here daily back in the spring/summer of 2009. Of course once I moved to the westside, I stopped coming. I would lug my oversized laptop and sit for hours plugged in (I preferred to be upstairs but it would get pretty warm up there quickly so opted for downstairs by the entrance if I had to). My favorite seat was that single built-in one right on the stairway landing where you felt you were in everyone's way. That's the impression I like to make. My beverage of choice was usually a cool Italian soda with kiwi syrup; not only did I actually LIKE this drink, but it also seemed to attract attention since you don't see many people with a toxic-green drink in hand. Tried their coffee, and it was a no (Starbucks is right on the next block). But I did have a salad here once that was pretty darn good, I believe it might have been the 'Venice Combo Salad.' As for people watching, that gets an 8/10. I have seen countless faces here, from those I met once or twice out in different parts of LA, those I want nothing to do with, and those that I can't quite categorize. I did end up meeting one guy here that was 'acceptable', and that was actually when I had to settle for sitting downstairs by the doorway. That is partially why I no longer sit there. You kind of feel like you are on display. Otherwise, the food here is alright, service was usually good, the Italian soda was especially nice, but near the end of my time here they stopped carrying the kiwi syrup.
