This place is homey and great for breakfast and lunch. I'm not giving it 5 stars due to the fact that they never want you to sit in the patio!! I think it's too much trouble for the servers so the customer doesn't get what they want. In summer I always look for places with outdoor seating because it's a long winter that I'm inside. Waitress said the Country Eggs Benedict were WICKED GOOD so that is what I ordered. It was hearty. Ham, spinach, tomato, bacon, etc... I couldn't finish it all. Came with a side of home fries. They have a pretty fancy breakfast menu with decent prices. Usually breakfast is pretty straightforward. They've managed to feature some fun and festive breakfast options - ie lobster Benedict - surf and turf -- it was fun checking out their menu. We had an early morning appointment in Coventry and waited far too long to eat breakfast. Not being terribly familiar with Coventry, we googled for a spot to eat and ended up at the nearby Cozy Grill. It was your standard family-style restaurant with quick service and large portions. The breakfast menu was surprisingly large - albeit a bit confusing - with 3 different menus...but, it had all the basics and more. Deb: I had a breakfast special sandwich with bacon, egg, ham and cheese on a croissant, which was accompanied by home fries. It was way more food than I could eat, but it worked for what I needed at the time -- food! Ken: Everyone needs to know that whatever Deb is served gets described as "way more food than I could eat." But, I digress... I got the sausage gravy and biscuits, two eggs over easy (Deb just said, "Blech."), and home fries. As an Ohio boy, I have high standards for sausage gravy and biscuits and the Cozy Grill's are some of the best I've had in New England - the right consistency, nicely seasoned with thyme, and tender sausage. I'd happily order it again. Despite ken's enthusiasm for the sausage and gravy (something this native Rhode Islander finds to be a somewhat unappealing breakfast choice), it's not a place we'll seek out, but if in the area at breakfast time, we might stop by again. read more

On my second visit (again, for breakfast), I sat at the counter and had Eddie as my waiter. I ordered a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, home fries and toast. With coffee, my bill came to just over $5. I'd say the food was better than my first visit - everything was perfectly cooked and tasted good. Eddie (and other waitstaff) never let my coffee cup go below half-full. The staff appeared to be a well-oiled machine and worked well with each other. I had a job to do afterward, and the service was quick, which I appreciated. It's only my second visit, but I'm beginning to think this may be the best breakfast place in Coventry! read more

Cute atmosphere, came with family after attending mass for my mother. Staff is super friendly. Considering how many people we had in our party food came out in good time. Went here the other night with a couple of friends. We decided to try it because we had a restaurant.com coupon. First of all the bread they bring to the table is GIANT. I got the buffalo chicken salad... and it was so sad. It was so small + just bagged salad--with only a couple pieces of chicken on it. I almost cried. Mainly because I was starved but also because I was surprised to get that on a plate at a restaurant! I got the chicken escarole soup too-- that was yummie but also a small size! Other people at my table ordered the club salad + another sandich + they were large + in charge... so I guess just don't do salad at this place. I saw some fish + chips platters go by + they too were GIANT. I had total food envy that night. Amanda our waitress was super nice +_they let us sit + chat long after the restaurant had closed. Please take this in the kind and loving manner it was intended. I an not a fan, all though I can tell that they have a large and loyal customer base. This place is designed for and caters to the blue hair group. That is to say that for me, the food was a little bland. It was also kind of predictable. I was looking to start the New Year off with eating at someplace new AND, I wanted some good New England Corned Beef. Unfortunately, the place did not make their own and canned stuff is just friggen lazy. So I had the Cheese Steak Omelet. Once you added seasonings, it was not too bad. Every time I visit R.I this place will hold a special place in my heart. They do have great food, they made my niece a mickey mouse pancake, so cute. And the server was great I wish I remembered her name I never do im so bad. She seemed like she had been there for awhile though. We were having a family breakfast, and it was our last day with our Grandma & Grandpa before heading back to Colorado. I guess my grandma and grandpa love this place. My grandpa enjoyed his breakfast like a champ, he loved it!! Unfortunately he passed away a week later. There are better breakfast places less than 5 minutes from here that have a better selection and cheaper prices. Truly as good as it gets in a local, privately owned eatery. Staff are all long time people, service is excellent, prices are reasonable, and the food is just wonderful. For a long while, living right nearby, we would eat there every Saturday morning without fail. Eddie was our waitstaffer and we think the world of him. When our business, Local Pros Coventry Pest Control, celebrated its 25th anniversary we sent all our longest term clients gift certificates to eat there.
