We were a party of 5. We started 12pc wings and loaded potato skins. I had the 3 protein sample. Ribs were good and fell of the bone. The brisket and pulled pork was tasty as well. The Mac n cheese was good with the right balance of cheese and creaminess. The service was attentive and our waitress was very friendly. I would come back.

I opted for BBQ today & also cornbread (otherwise a sin) & pretty much impressive and I had a break via a gift card so the payment was low. Overall I still am impressed.

Crest Room now has an enclosed patio which makes for a perfect entertainment venue. BBQ is their specialty now since they have reopened under new ownership. Service is fast and friendly and the bar is only a few steps away from the DJ jng area. Brisket is my go to menu option. A close second is the house made corned beef Reuben. Check out their website to see what local music is on tap as well!

Started out with a Creamsicle martini, brought me back to my days when I was a kid eating Creamsicle's, it was delicious. I ordered a fish sandwich. Picked up a homemade potato chip and it was to die for, ready to order a bag to go home. My fish sandwich is the icing on the cake. My friends had barbecue and chicken wrap married with Creamsicle martinis, they to and they keep making noises how good food is. l do not think anyone would be disappointed. The atmosphere is great and very friendly.

Heather was an amazing waitress, she was so knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations! We went in on a Sunday night at 8pm and the food was fresh, hot, & amazing. The BEST brisket we have had probably ever. Melted in our mouths. We are both in the industry as a chef and a server and we love being able to support local places wherever we travel, and this is a must if you're out in the area, especially after a long day at six flags! Our 9 year old also loved it and it was definitely a family friendly atmosphere, plus the prices were unbelievable, for the 3 of us it was under $100 plus we got drinks and apps! We will 100% be back!

Came here for brunch last weekend and was so impressed with everything. The food was absolutely amazing, the smokehouse Benedict was delicious and served on the best cornbread, with bbq brisket (or pulled pork) with a poached egg, with home fries. The food was better than most places in the area. The smokehouse Bloody Mary was also delicious in flavor and had great garnish. Espresso martinis and the endless options and mixes for mimosas were also very good! Service was great and everything came out fairly quick. We will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend this place, can't wait to try lunch or dinner here.

"And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

The service was wonderful and attentive - all with a smile. Special shout out to Bramwell for going above and beyond. You don't often see real smokers in the back with pit masters smoking the meats. so here's my feedback. 1 out of 10 Portion size- 10 by far one of the best barbecue restaurants for portions. Ribs 5. Understand these ribs were cooked absolutely perfectly. Tender moist fantastic smoking ring. I'm only giving them a five because they had a slight cherry taste to them and this is a personal preference. I don't care for cherry in my pork. Brisket 7 I requested a cut from the point of the brisket and not the flat. I got the flat and it was borderline dry. However the flavor was spectacular. I think it may have just been in the warmer just a little too long. Sausage 3 again the sausage was smoked to perfection. But unfortunately, I could not taste any sausage at all only spice. The sausage needs to be the star of the show and the spice to be a compliment. Brisket mac & cheese- 9 nice size chunks of brisket in a nice creamy mac & cheese fantastic. Beans- 1 I'm sorry but the beans had zero smoke flavor and it kind of tasted like they came right out of the can. A good barbecue place like this I know they can do much much better with their beans. Corn bread - 10 the cornbread came with my meal and it was absolutely perfect. A nice little crust on the outside soft and moist on the inside unbelievably perfectly cooked. This is one absolutely fantastic restaurant and I was very, very impressed with the quality of smoked meat they are producing. This restaurant is employing true Pitt masters who know what the heck they're doing with their pits. It's nice to see a taste of Texas in Connecticut.

As a…read morebarbecue lover living in the city where it's often expensive and strangely absent from many menus, I simply couldn't leave without getting myself a plate. We ordered a half rack of ribs to split, waiting about 15-minutes for our name to be called (too long for two people frothing at the mouth for it). The ribs came undressed, but you could help yourself to as much sauce as you like at the counter. We tried both the apple and chipotle sauces, preferring the former, which was sweet and smokey. It paired perfectly with the tender, fatty ribs. When I think back on it as I am right now, I salivate. My husband also ordered their brisket sandwich (available only on Sundays), which looked just as appetizing as the ribs. The meat was cooked wonderfully medium rare with a charred exterior and a slightly pink interior. My husband ate that heartily. It was one of our favorite bites of the trip. I'm envious of my past self for enjoying that meal while I sit here now, craving it but unable to have it again.

The photos online looked amazing, but unfortunately, I don't think it lived up to expectations. Being next door to their marketplace, the space has a laid-back vibe--bright, well-lit, and it smells really good. The two people working the front (one taking orders, the other handing out food) were friendly and welcoming, which was a nice touch. We ordered the ribs, brisket, bratwurst, potato salad, mac & cheese, and fries. Of the meats, the brisket was probably the best--good bark, and not dry. The bratwurst was very dry and definitely needed the mustard. The ribs were far too salty, and I wasn't a fan of their peach BBQ sauce. The sides were pretty solid. The mac & cheese was okay, though it could've used a bit more seasoning. The potato salad was solid, and the fries were good. The pickles that came with the entrees were also tasty. All in all, a bit disappointing. When the sides outshine the entrees, it says something.
