These folks have always been great in all that they do. The food is always down home excellent and the atmosphere is homey. Additionally, we had an emergency where we needed to reach a patron the and the person that answered the phone was very sweet, recognized the person we needed to get ahold of, and followed the situation through to get our mother to the hospital. We've been patronizing Seros for a number of years. The food and staff are great. It's become a little pricey, but we're okay with that because the owner and his family are the greatest in providing a family atmosphere. I'm a little put off because of those here who are"offended" by their unsuppressed patriotism and giving false reviews of bad food. This restaurant is on the Far East side of Indianapolis, almost in Hancock County. We went for Father's Day, fully expecting with how packed the parking lot was, to be incredibly busy and that we'd be waiting for a while. This was absolutely not the case. We were sat quickly, and the service/food came out just as quick! We all ordered something different, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their breakfasts. My dad ordered the Olympia salad which he liked. It came with a heaping serving of gyro meat on top of a Greek salad. My brother ordered the Lumberjack and it was a crazy amount of food for the price of $9.99 (eggs, hash browns, and a full order of biscuits and gravy). My partner ordered the fruit crepes and a side order of eggs. The eggs were cooked exactly the way he requested and the crepes were filled with a beautiful cream! I ordered the cinnamon berry french toast and it was simply delicious. The berry topping was a nice touch! 1st time here. We ordered food and when one of the meals was not good we told the waitress that took our order she was polite took the food and bringing menu for my young daughter to pick something else.. In the mean time the owner came out and got in my daughters face and told her she was waisting was very rude and ignorant and very nasty. When I let him know to step away from my daughter now in tears. He did not care I did my best to stay cool and calm and let him know this was terrible customer service . When I asked the waitresses if they would be ok with him getting in their dayghters face they looked away and said nothing. Can tell he is hard to work for and probably cost them great tips aka we are great tippers and regular restuarant eaters and never ever had a problem and I have never wrote a bad review. Police told me about this must be a common problem....Oh he continued to harass and be nasty kicked us out and told us to still pay and called the police my mom paid him against my advise and told him he was a jerk and he told my elderly mother she better be glad she was not a man and to get out so I took her money back and had him call police which I politely waited for and they came and agreed with us and let us go home.....Never ever visit this place....All because the owner is a nasty in my opinion hot head shovenistic that likes to bully woman... Sero's Family Restaurant is one of these, and I find it to be among the most pleasant eateries on the far-Eastside. Sero's Family Restaurant is tucked away in a quiet spot in Cumberland., which adds to its homey ambiance. As with other Greek-American restaurants, the menu is large and diverse. Aside from several Greek favorites, it features many American mainstays - like burgers, Hoosier-style tenderloins, and salads. Sero's, of course, also serves some really tasty breakfast options. I'd follow a gyro off the face of a cliff, like a lemming. Clearly, this is my go-to preference at Sero's. I recommend getting the platter versus the sandwich. Being a carnivorous son-of-a-gun, I always order the option offering more meat. The American in me prefers substituting the Greek potatoes for fries. The accompanying warm pita is a nice touch, and I love the obnoxiously large hunk of feta the restaurant includes with the dish. Pair the gyro with a Greek salad. If you're not a gyro lover, I can vouch for the Philly steak and cheese sandwich being a fairly good alternative. As this review is posting in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, I must commend the staff on their diligence in getting curbside orders to their customers in a timely and safe manner. To start with ice tea is $3.50. No thanks. Soda at $2.99 not much better. Next I ask about the fish because there was a cat fish dinner and a white fish senior meal, but no regular white dinner. To my horror I was told she thinks it's all the same fish. Cat fish and white fish are not close to the same thing. Next I got the beef vegetable soup. It was 80% cabbage. Who makes vegetable beef that way? Her salad was okay but the French dressing was off and very day glow. NOW all that Said my beef Manhattan was good. The gravy was pleasant and plentiful. I'm sure you've heard of the concept of "comfort foods." "Sero's Restaurant" in Cumberland, Indiana is a "comfort restaurant," a Greek-American eatery with a wide variety of different food types and a strong feeling of "small town diner." I was in the mood for a "comfort restaurant" this evening after a long week at work. While I knew I wouldn't be considered one of the "regulars" as I don't live in a small town and don't often find my general neighborhood in search of a meal, there's just something about a laid back small-town diner that makes me smile. I'd wanted to try this place since the days when I drove by it on my way out to seminary in Richmond, Indiana. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed that they had one defined accessible spot. It had the wheelchair symbol on the concrete, but not the actual sign (Which, in Indiana, means it's not legally enforceable). There's a ramp that leads up to the front door, though you should be aware it's not completely ADA compliant in terms of its grade. I didn't have any problems with it, but someone with strength issues might struggle a bit. The cashier/hostess area is right inside the front door and I was greeted promptly. To your right, there's a main dining area and there's a secondary dining area with a television further to the back. I was seated at the very first table, though it was a spot that made sense. The restaurant wasn't crowded yet as it was early in the dinner hour. Those who were present appeared to be largely an older group of folks that included both singles and couples. They appeared, for the most part, to be regulars and were obviously being treated as such. While I wasn't quite in the clique, I was still treated well and I enjoyed watching the relationships that staff had with the diners. I wrestled quite a bit with what to eat, but found myself inspired by good friend Rick Garrett, also known as the Tenderloin Connoisseur, a blogger who specializes in that great Hoosier delicacy. So, I ordered what was billed as the "Giant Breaded Tenderloin." It came with either fries, chips, cole slaw or something else I've completely spaced. I added fries to it along with an unsweet iced tea. I have a feeling that The Tenderloin Connoisseur would find this to be a disappointing tenderloin. While it certainly is sizable, that's not exactly rare among tenderloins and I've definitely experienced bigger sandwiches. The sandwich was meaty, but there was just something about the taste that was a little off. I looked at the meat and it just didn't seem right. It wasn't a bad sandwich, but by the end of it I was more than happy to be done with it. The bun was slightly toasted, but it tasted like your generic bun and was a bit too crumbly. The french fries were standard American fries that, once again, were neither good nor bad. The sandwich and fries costs $9.99, which seems a tad high for this kind of place. That said, I did see a number of other sandwiches available from $5.99 - $8.99 or even full meals for decent prices. My server was attentive, but while she offered me dessert she never offered me a refill. As an iced tea addict, I found this a bit disappointing as at least one refill seems fairly standard. If I could, I'd probably rate Sero's smack dab in the middle with a 2.5 star rating. It was practically the definition of an average meal. That said, even with my disappointment with the tenderloin, I found myself feeling like this was a decent yet disappointing meal with friendly people as staff. That said, I live not far from another similarly themed local chain, Lincoln Square, and my experience at Sero's was certainly not good enough to become a destination spot. If I happen to be driving by it and am hungry, I'd definitely stop but I'd also definitely not order the tenderloin again. read more

Absolutely my favorite place to eat breakfast at and truly the biggest hidden gem in the city. They serve not just breakfast but also lunch and dinner. However, every time I go I have get myself some breakfast (plus breakfast is my favorite to eat all day if I could). Aero himself is always there, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. They even remember you once you have been there so many times. I use to love Cracker Barrel for breakfast but the have nothing on Sero's. While on the road I love to find quality spots for lunch. You know it is always a great sign when you pull in for lunch and the parking lot is full. Sero's did not disappoint. With diners you can always tell a lot about them with how their burger taste. Similar to a pizza place and classic pepperoni. Their burger was juicy and amazing. The bacon was thick cut and not cheap and thin. The chicken noodle soup was also just what I needed to warm me up on this cold day. Will make it a point to stop in again and try other items on the menu. Would also recommend their house hot sauce. They could sell it and wouldn't be able to keep it on the shelves. read more

Today we split the breaded tenderloin because it's big enough for two. It isn't paper thin either. I have to have mine deluxe! It's a popular place. Stopped this morning for breakfast. Quickly seated by masked hostess. Immediately greeted once we sat down by our masked waitress. Food was delivered hot and very quick, which made me question quality. Fried potatoes were fried earlier and refried. This caused them to not be fresh tasting or consistent in look, tenderness or crunchiness. The scrambled eggs were phenomenal. Freshly scrambled and cooked to order. Hot, fluffy and tasty. The gyro meat was very good. Hot and tender. The breaded tenderloin was wonderful. Not sure if it is hand breaded but it is wonderful and large enough to take home for a sandwich later. Not sure they are following covid guidelines 100% as each table still had condiments on tables. Menus were just put back in a pile once we returned them and no one was wiping them down.
