I can't begin to describe how happy I am! I found Gina through yelp after trying on my own and failing to get my naturally curly hair into healthy shape. We did a virtual consultation and not only does she know her stuff but she is so friendly, she made the online meeting very comfortable and was easy to chat with! I did her detox and signed up for her online workshops to better educate myself on my curls! She made product pickup a breeze (even with COVID) and had great guidelines for safety during these uncertain times. I have yet to get my hair cut by her, but her online workshops, detox program & products have signicantly changed my hair for the better. I seriously can't believe these are my curls. Just a little background- I always straightened my hair, started at 15 and between that and dying my dark locks my hair has been fried! Last year I had a friend chop my hair short and get the color back to my natural dark brown in order to try to make my hair healthy again. When I wore my hair curly I thought it was just loose waves and lots of frizz and that was what I thought my hair was, could never get it to be manageable or "pretty" without lots of styling products and I also was having a problem with buildup on my scalp making my head itchy and flakey. Her comment to continued education and science backed knowledge is so rare. Don't concern yourself with misleading and uneducated knowledge on social media from "influencers" it's likely either not right for your curls, or little more than product advertising. You can trust that an appointment with Gina will leave you with all the knowledge you need about your specific hair and current circumstances and preferences relating to your hair. I personally have had trouble recently with my hair thinning due to some life stressors and medical concerns. I've done the CURLY GIRL METHOD, I've done the MAP METHOD, and Gina put it all together for me with an amazing cut and color! I am a 2b wavy girl. I first came to Gina about 10 years ago. At the time of my first visit, I was battling with not only a challenging texture of curls/waves/frizz that needed a proper cut and maintenance, but also was in need of some serious color correction. I had been to a few different stylists prior to coming to Gina and was never 100% happy. I didn't know exactly why this was happening, just that I would leave a salon looking "pretty good" but then would face challenges as I tried to maintain the style myself.
