I noticed this spot was close to where I was working in Raleigh, so I walked over with a coworker to treat the team to a selection of cupcakes. Most folks, myself included, loved the pumpkin smores special. I also heard good things about the mint and the gluten free options. The sugar cookies they were selling here were incredible -- I wish I had purchased more! I'd definitely consider a return if I find myself in Raleigh again in the future.

I hadn't heard of this place until recently. I came across it while searching for "gluten-free bakeries near Zebulon" on Google, and it stood out among the few I found. I ended up emailing back and forth with Arlen, who was incredibly professional and patient in answering all my questions. When I went to pick up my order, I was pleasantly surprised--the bakery/café is absolutely charming! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it definitely exceeded it.

I ordered 3 dozen minis for a Valentine's day event I was hosting. We ended up having more people RSVP than expected so the day before pick up I called and they were so accommodating and able to add an additional 3 dozen to my order in the short notice! Prior to the event I tested 6 cupcakes to see which I wanted and it was a really tough choice. I ended up picking chocolate raspberry, chocolate with cream cheese frosting, lemon zinger, pink champagne, and red velvet. The event was such a hit, I was actually disappointed there weren't any leftover cupcakes for me to take home! The minis were an absolutely perfect ratio for our wine tasting and gave everyone enough stomach space to try multiple flavors. Thank you all for creating such beautiful cupcakes!

I loved my vegan gluten-free chocolate cupcake! The cafe is also super cute. I'd love to come back :)

It's a good thing I don't live at the hotel where I was staying across from this place because I might become a nonstop diner. Thanks to my alleged poor ability to make a decision, I made it out of there with "some to share". That gave me a chance to taste four delicious items. Summary: just go grab something you'll not be disappointed! Plenty of choices for you "picky dessert people", and of course coffee selections to pair. But if you want to get granular... The brownie was rich and of course chocolatey. Props for the effort as it's sometimes hard to pull off a brownie when your specialty is cupcakes. This is big enough to use as "firsts" and "seconds" (or just don't tell anybody and eat it all). Next was the cinnamon cupcake. The cake itself was light to balance the sweet but not overbearing (huge amount) of frosting. The sea salt caramel was also generous on the frosting, and had a nice mix of spice + salt. Today's winner was the oatmeal cookie, with tasty glaze leaving me wanting more. However I know there are plenty of the oat-averse wandering around Yelp, so just remember I didn't try about 15 other things today. They all looked good. Nice ambiance, plenty of pastel, giant old-time cash register, outdoor/indoor seats--I'll return.

Mad at myself for not taking a picture of my picture perfect cupcake! Got the flavor of the week which was a Spiced Chai. Frosting wasn't overpowering and had the perfect amount of cinnamon sprinkled in. Cupcake portion was moist and almost as if I had just gotten it fresh baked (it was end of day when I tried it). Service was great, a family owned business that treats you as such. The shop itself is cute!

Today is my sisters birthday so we decided to celebrate with some cupcakes. First impressions, The Cupcake Shoppe is small, cute, and clean. There are a few tables available for those who choose to dine in, but overall not too much space. The shop was pretty busy and stayed busy the entire time we were there. I wouldn't recommend a large group dine in here. I am GF/DF so I was happy to see they two GF/vegan cupcakes available (chocolate and strawberry) and I chose the strawberry flavor. The frosting was a bit too sweet for me, but the cake itself didn't have much flavor so it paired well together. Overall it was a good cupcake. There were only 2 GF/Vegan cupcake options available when my group came in around 2, and by the time we left there were none left. It doesn't seem like they restock these once they're gone, so if you are hoping to get one I'd recommend coming early. None of the non-GF flavors ran out though so no worries there. I am not sure how many GF/V cakes they start their day with, but I would come back to try their other flavors!

My daughter attends NC State and we could not be with her for her birthday. ENTER THE CUPCAKE SHOPPE! These folks were super helpful and friendly. They helped arrange for 12 cupcakes to be delivered to my daughter on her birthday complete with a card! Check out their website. They have a plethora of flavors. I sent my daughter double chocolate, lemon, carrot cake and cinnamon. Daughter said they are delicious! There folks were top-notch. They helped us celebrate our daughter's birthday over the span of 125 miles. Give them a look. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Holy crap, this place is amazing! We just moved to the area and I was in search of gluten free treats. Well I found a spot and it did not disappoint. I have never found a cupcake where the texture was still like a regular cake. I'm 100% a fan and will absolutely be going back. I highly recommend!!!

I'm a big fan of the cupcake shop! I can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet. I've headed in multiple times pre covid for cupcakes. I really haven't met one I didn't like, but I will say the lemon cupcake is probably my favorite of their options! I also thoroughly enjoy their simple chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream, simple and delicious. Recently my friend ordered a box of treats to be delivered for my birthday. They packaged everything beautifully and I appreciated the note they included. My toddler couldn't get enough of their lavender scone and I got to stuff my face with more lemon cupcakes. The strawberry cinnamon roll was also a great treat! I haven't tried their brownies yet, but those are next on my list since they look awesome. It's also the perfect spot to grab an iced coffee for an afternoon pick me up when grabbing some treats! They have specialty lemonades as well which are on my list for next time. During COVID you can just call to order for curbside pickup or delivery.

I was really craving some cake for my birthday. So, we reached out to The Cupcake Shoppe a few days prior by phone and they were able to make it happen. I was super excited to see what they came up with. Not bad! It was a nice teal cake with a custom Happy Birthday sign. It was ready when we arrived a hour early and staff was friendly. Cake was yummy! You must follow the directions per owner. So, you get that nice soft wedding cake taste.

A Truly Artisanal Bakery…read more I rarely leave reviews on yelp anymore, but this bakery is so impressive, it inspired me to type this down. I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. I tried Paul and Jack and couple other bakeries, they were all good, but not impressive. The first thing I noticed was their Mill Room, and second I noticed that they have 100 score on hygiene. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then We got a bunch of pastries, the shortbread was the first one we tried and wow, it was so simple yet so flavorful, truly malted tasting shortbread, it has so much depth in taste. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. I truly respect this.

A bialy (bee-AH-lee) is a traditional Polish-Jewish bread roll, similar to a bagel but with key differences: it is baked, not boiled, has a dimpled center filled with onion bits and poppy seeds, and is generally softer and less dense. Originating in Białystok, Poland, these rolls are traditionally served plain or toasted with toppings like butter or schmear. 2. Rye shortbread. Not too sweet. Just perfection! 3. Bran biscotti. I like the idea of a high-fiber bran biscotti over a refined flour one. 4. Buchi Tepache. I got the mango-pineapple flavor. This is a local NC brand. It's a mildly fermented drink that originated in Mexico. I got the ingredients from their website (drinkbuchi.com): Organic Tibicos (Water, Organic Fair Trade Certified™* Cane Sugar, Organic Kefir Culture), Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Mango Puree, Organic Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Organic Whole Lemon Puree, Organic Mango Natural Flavor, Organic Pineapple Natural Flavor, Organic Monk Fruit Extract. 5. The baguette. Unlike a refined flour white bread baguette at La Farm Bakery, this one is made of a red wheat flour. Turkey Red flour is an heirloom, organic hard red winter wheat brought to Kansas in 1873 by Mennonite immigrants. Prized for its rich, nutty flavor and superior baking qualities, it is often used for artisan bread, sourdough, and pasta due to its unique, sometimes more digestible, gluten profile. It is commonly stone-ground and available from local Kansas millers. 6. The star of the show was the Everything Croissant. Like the Everything Bagel but soft and buttery. Topped with all the sesame seeds and seasonings with a cream cheese interior. So good! I do plan on returning!

The derby pie was good- but I like mine with a denser filling. My friend enjoyed her strawberry pretzel pie, and the fact that not many places offer this on their menu. Their light bites are quite tasty, and I especially enjoy their phyllo-dough pastries. There's always a big team behind the counter, and instead of calling names, they give you a number and bring food or drinks directly to your table, which is so thoughtful!
