One of the worst meals we have ever had to (over) pay for. We love to give all our local restaurants a try, we want to be supportive but really . . . do you even taste your own food. I had a crispy chicken sandwich that was soggy, tasteless and tough. My husband had the fish fry which included one (1) piece of thin, over-breaded, over-fried fish for $19. Come on!!! Very disappointing! Waitress was very sweet but kitchen was not prepared, long wait for food and they ran out of food. Waitress was unaware they ran out until all but one in our party was served. They served food that should not have been served- over cooked, burnt on the bottom! And The place wasn't even busy! We were their only party! My advice- GO ELSEWHERE! read more

WORST dining experience my friends (8) and I have ever had. Service rates a negative 5 stars; food was mediocre at best. We were in town for a wedding and had a confirmed 7:30 reservation for 8 on June 15; arrived on time, place was nearly empty and we were told by the less than cordial hostess to "take that table." It took 20 minutes for a wait person to come and take a drink order (after three different members of our party asked if some one was going to come to our table) and another 20 for the drinks to arrive (but only some of them). We were also told that we could review a wine list but most of what was on it was not going to be available as they were redoing the list. Food, when it did arrive, was so-so and there were only five place settings at the table We had to ask for more. To top it off, there was a 20% gratuity added to the bill but not noted on the bill; we only discovered this after one member of the party asked why there was a discrepancy between the total bill and the four individual bills we ultimately requested. A disaster and joke from start to finish. If this was an example of "Ohio Proud" the bar has been set very low. I've had a better experience grabbing a hot dog at a convenience store. read more

Don't bother going for the happy hour specials. 3 workers at the bar all talking while people are waiting to order drinks and aps. One of the waitresses made sure to not make eye contact as we were sitting there waiting for someone to come over to the table. Horrible service. read more

Just finished an excellent lunch at The Cutting Board at the Aurora Inn. The restaurant has a lovely, casual atmosphere and the patio is very inviting. You must try the poutine! Don't let the low price fool you, it's big enough for the table. Overall, great food and atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back. read more

My fiancé and I found out about this restaurant from a dining book that we received as a gift. Our dinner was well worth the 45 minute drive to the restaurant. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our portions were rather large for the price. I would recommend the pork chops and swordfish to anyone . There is also a great selection of drinks and delicious desserts. The Cutting Board is a gem, and we will certainly be back! read more

We had the pleasure of having Janet be our waitress and this Now favorite restaurant. The food was great, and fresh. The service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back. And today being Wednesday, it is 5 dollar wine bottle night with a purchase of two entrees. To make your dining experience that much better, ask for Janet. She will make your night! read more

From start to finish we were very disappointed with this restaurant. Seated down from door where it was freezing - response from maitre 'd - next time sit by fireplace. Waitress spilled water - had to ask her to clean it up. For 5 people they brought one small loaf of bread to share. All four fish fries breading was burnt. My wife and I stopped on a date night. We had a gift certificate. When we arrived for dinner, there was nobody in the restaurant to seat us. The maintenance man for the Inn had to get staff. Waitress was pleasant and friendly. Although she forgot to tell us about the items not available. That didn't bother us, look and choose again. We weren't in a hurry. We selected a nice wine from the one yes one and only one wine list in the restaurant. It was being passed around. The restaurant has an identity crisis. The menu, the décor and the music was all over the place. The food was OK. Not bad, just OK. Hopefully they find some direction. read more

My wife and I went for Sunday brunch on Valentines Day. Very disappointed! Every time our coffee cups were empty, we had to wave to a waitress for a refill. (It's wasn't busy). I had Crab Benedict... First the eggs where way over cooked, not sure if it was real hollandaise sauce (I make this at home all the time), the crab cake seemed like 90% filler and they forgot the smoked ham. When I told the waitress about the ham she had to check a menu to confirm that it was part of the dish (the menu is small not sure why she didn't know it.) First time eating here. Treated rudely by waitress who refused to take our orders and wait our table after she was told it was her table. People came, were served and went while we waited for coffee and drinks. Coffee was being brewed for 40 minutes and then cold when supplied. Salads were good, croutons only on one side salad, all other side salads had no croutons. Bread was cold, knife too dull to cut it. Out of pork chops at 8p.m. Ordered med rare steaks that were med well. No sauce on the chicken sandwich, waitress said it was on it and even when shown, said we were wrong. Veggie Black Bean Burger was on a burnt bun and was burnt as well as being tasteless. Friends were served their wine and finally after asking again, I was brought my draft beer. 20 minutes later. Waitress said she drank it. Ha Ha! We all thought we were being "punked" and looked around to make sure cameras weren't hiding. Should have followed our first instincts and left when Janet said "NO"! Live and learn!! It was Girls Day Out for my friends and I. We have never, ever, been treated this shabbily in all our dining experience. Wake up management! Get your stuff in order before the word spreads! Understaffed on a Saturday night without team workers is sudden death for a business! read more

just tried the cutting board at the aurora inn for the first and last time, walked in and was greeted by front desk ( cutting board, sit where you want) main reason for the visit was to try the bone marrow dish, was told no longer on the menu, then asked to try amish cheese fondu, sorry all out, it was only 7:30 in the evening, went with a house salad and beef soup djour, just ok, had the mac and cheese with truffle shavings with chicken, the waitress forgot the chicken and there were no truffle shavings or evidence of said in site, my guest had the margarita flat bread pizza, very flat in every way (bland), crab cakes were so-so, all the tables were hit and miss with candles,salt and pepper and set-ups, waitress was preoccupied with busing and cleaning tables while we waited for our bill and to-go bag, if new management and trained staff don't appear soon don't hold out much hope for this promising new restaurant plus very uninviting decor(sterile and cold). read more

Poor service and the food wasn't that great either. First they didn't have our party listed in the reservations, although they did seat our group of 7 within a few minutes of our arrival. The waitress gave us menus and took drink orders, however we waited another 20 minutes until she returned to take our dinner orders. We ordered 3 appetizers and 7 dinners. Two of the appetizers arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. The third appetizer arrived after the dinners. The waitress did not apologize or ask if we still even wanted it. One of the dinners was supposed to include chicken, but there was none. The waitress did rectify this issue and did not charge us for that meal. Rarely did someone return to see if we needed refills on our drinks. The burgers were blah and the fries were luke warm. The checks were another event altogether. All 3 checks were incorrect and one of them had to be corrected twice. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant and will not be going there again. read more
