I stopped in during their Saturday brunch period. I was torn between the fish n' chips or the burger. I'm not a fish n' chips fan, but had to try it because the restaurant chef (who was on site that day) had been on Beat Bobby Flay with his recipe. If you're a fish n' chips person, you gotta try this! The filet was huge and crispy, served with the usual tartar sauce and malt vinegar as well as slaw. Fries hot and crispy. Again, I'm not a fish n' chips person, so once was enough for me, but I like to try special things or things a restaurant is known for--if you're into this kind of thing, it really is great! I had a couple cocktails--the peaches cocktail and the desert flower. Both refreshing and not too sweet or sugary. They have multiple cocktails of many varieties available. Again, I had the brunch menu, but the dinner menu has a few more large entrees on it. The burger is still there, but they add some decadent pasta dishes, steak cuts, and duck/chicken. The vibe was classic downtown Chicago, offering a variety of small and large plates. We were seated at a great table near the window and enjoyed the city views while dining. We tried the vegetable quiche small plate, which was as stated, "small". The quiche was good, but didn't stand out. We also tried the fish and chips which was very tasty. Hubby and I came here for dinner on July 2nd and it did not disappoint. First-let's start with the drinks. Probably one of the BEST lychee martinis....theyre dangerous, you could drink them all night. Their espresso martini is also just as delicious. For the food, we had the filet mignon, hubby had the soup and the hot honey pizza. Both he said were very good. Lastly, customer service was top notch. The two times I have been to this location, I was blown away. To start, it is a beautiful, clean, and well maintained restaurant. I'd love to point out the amazing seating arrangements: The booths are comfortable, the restrooms are comfortable, and the hostess staff are very friendly. When I walked into this restaurant, the warm toned walls made me feel so accepted and relaxed. This place definitely makes you feel the need for a drink (that's a good, relaxing feeling). The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. When we were seated, waters were immediately filled for us, and napkins were already at the table. The service is outstanding, professional, yet friendly and fun. The servers know their menu very well, answered all questions about their food, and even gave us some really nice recommendations. The meal I got was the Fish and Chips, id like to mention that I am not a fish eater. My boyfriend got this dish our first time and insisted that I had a nibble, and the rest is history. I fell in love with the flaky crust yet tender, and juicy cod. It was really large too! The truffle fries are so worth dying for. That is how I'm ending this. Had a phenomenal dinner at the Dearborn last night! The food was picturesque and delicious, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was chic. My brother, dad, and I were in the area, seeing as we had just checked out the Sear's (now Willis) tower observation deck. I remember seeing the Dearborn recommended earlier on during our trip, and the food looked great, so we walked on over. We were quickly seated at a table next to these giant floor-to-ceiling windows, giving us a nice view of outside. We over-indulged, ordering the Midwest fried chicken, meze plate, a Dearborn burger each, and house-made chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. We had stomach aches long into the night, but it was worth it! The fried chicken had this sweet mustard maple glaze, was lightly fried, and juicy. The meze plate's tatziki was zesty and refreshing, the tahini added a nice subtle spice, but the standout was the creamy hummus: it had a very subtle nutty flavor, which I prefer to a strong one. My only nitpick was that one piece of pita wasn't enough to eat all the dips. They were still delicious, tho. The Dearborn burger came with two juicy patties along with a generous portion of thin and crispy fries. The burger was very filling, but once the cheese was gone, the meat was the primary flavor. I feel like the burger would really benefit from some tomatoes or onions to break up the flavor profile a little bit, but other than that, it was a great burger. Then came dessert. Now, we were already full, so dessert wasn't the smartest choice, but it was the right one. The house-made chocolate cookies were soft, warm and filled with melty chocolate chips. The ice cream was surprisingly creamy and firm. Perfect way to cap off the final night of a trip, or any night for that matter. Going back to the atmosphere, the staff made us feel very welcome. Our server periodically checked in on us, cracked some jokes, and made us feel like we were right at home. One of the bus boys even complemented my hat, which I appreciated. I have frequented the Dearborn for a before theatre meal. As a pescatarian (no meat/no shellfish) the menu options are slightly limited. However, what I have had (catch of the day, fish & chips, meze plate) has been good. Went a couple of days ago for a late dinner and got a lovely seat in the window. My friend and I split a salad entree and the fish and chips which are reputed to have "beat Bobby Flay". The salad was good but pricey for the size and the fish and chips tasted like the lid was off of the salt shaker when seasoning the dish, very disappointing. Also, the F&C previously came with a ginormous heap of Cole slaw which seemed a little skimpy this time. It's works great for a business dinner, but still casual enough for lunch at their well-stocked bar. Their space is expansive, with multiple rooms for large groups or a date night. Order the ceviche appetizer. It's a mix of cod, salmon, shrimp, fennel, orange, tomato, cilantro, coriander-lime dressing, crispy tortillas. I ended going there for dinner two times in a row so for the entrée I had their Fish & Chips "As seen on Bobby Flay" which is tempura-battered cod, rainbow slaw, remoulade, charred lemon, and fries. The other night I had The Dearborn Burger made with cdk beef, Wisconsin cheddar, special sauce, dill pickles, bibb lettuce on a brioche bun. Service was top notch too. My Fish and chip was good, my husband didn't enjoy his steak. All the food took along time to be made and then plates and cutlery didn't arrive and had to be asked for, so service was slow and shoddy too.
