The Deck is attached to a hotel and we missed it the first time driving by. Parking was a little confusing. It's in a parking garage for the hotel with just a few reserved spots for the restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and upbeat. The waitstaff were very busy and looked like they were working great as a team. About three people helped us. They accommodated my special dietary needs without any strange looks. The 5 Spice Pork Belly was VERY tasty. The rest of our meal (Chicken Satay burger and a bacon burger) were not bad but nothing to get excited about. The nice benefit of this place is the beach access and comfortable, large sofas for relaxing, socializing and soaking up the view. They have a great sculpture that looks like Wilson from Castaway with Tom Hanks. It made us smile! The bar was busy and I suspect they have a great menu of custom cocktails though we didn't try any. read more

We love The Collins Quarter and The Fitzroy in Savannah, and now we have finally completed the trio with a recent lunch visit to The Deck Beachbar and Kitchen. And its name is so very apt as it sits directly on Tybee Island Beach with great ocean views and breezes, and it is a traditional beach bar that serves "beach-y" type food in a comfortable "beach-y" atmosphere. It is unpretentious as a beach bar should be, and the menu options are what you expect on a beach: tasty, filling, and uncomplicated. Nothing better than starting a relaxing lunch with a bourbon Manhattan while listening to the ocean waves and keeping watch over Marley, the resident--and very cute--Deck cat. It was well-made without an overpour of sweet vermouth so that the bourbon still came through. Coconut Shrimp sounded like a good beach afternoon starter. They arrived at the table still very hot. The outside is crunchy and not overly coconutty while the shrimp are moist and tender. The Cilantro Yogurt sauce added a cooling and tangy flavor to the shrimp. Still feeling beach-y and and in a seafood mood, why not indulge in Fish and Chips. . . so I did. Two very large, nicely battered cod filets with an ample serving of fries arrived and I dove in. Malt Vinegar, a necessity, arrives at the table without having to ask. . . I love that! Crunchy outside, tender inside and tangy malt vinegar laden french fries threw the "I try to eat healthy" mantra into the ocean that afternoon, but I didn't care. I enjoyed every bite. My husband enjoyed the Buffalo Shrimp Tacos that he pronounced spicy enough, but not over the top too spicy. The Blue Cheese Crema helped to keep them on the less hot side of things as well. A side of Cilantro Slaw made his choice healthier than mine. Dawn was our attentive and friendly server that afternoon, and she does her job very well with a smile. The Deck is a great place to satisfy that itch for a drink and a snack on the beach. Fish and chips are great. Pork belly slider appetizer is as good as it gets. Customer service and staff were very nice as well. Only issue is with the tacos. The tortillas were hard like they were just thrown on a stove and left there too long, but still, at $15 a plate for them tacos, they should know better. read more

One my faves on Tybee!! We only came for drinks so I can't speak to food. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, I think due to Covid and being the off season it wasn't packed. Super easy to get a spot indoors. The outdoor tables were all taken as it's beach front! The outdoor band started to arrive and set up as we were leaving, so I can't speak to this either. Drinks: I got frozen peach marg and weirdly it tasted a bit like PEPPER. But my husband tasted and it didn't taste like pepper to him. the more I drank it the less I noticed it (or maybe I just got used to it). I guess I probably wouldn't recommend it overall. One of the people in our group got the Mimi Vice and RAVED about it. If I had to make a recommendation, I'd say go with that!! My husband got the grapefruit mule option and it didn't have much taste *imo* then a couple people got some draft beers, nothing so super memorable to recommend. Our waitress was super friendly. Had lunch there today. Mediocre at best. I had the burger and fries, wife had Ahi tuna salad. She could only eat half of hers, mine was flavorless. The calamari was ok. Asked for cocktail sauce and received 1 to go package of cocktail sauce. Must be a supply chain shortage. Service was a C-. I guess I have high expectations when I'm expected to tip no less than 18%. If you are looking for an exquisite view, an exceptional time, good service and even better food.... you have found the right place. The Deck is an establishment with lots of great history, or at least the location is. As one of the, if not only, Tybee restaurants located directly on the beach it already sets itself apart in atmosphere alone. However, the Deck has earned legitimacy in its own right. The seafood platter is a dish shareable between a couple (read: family) and is worth every penny that they ask for. Fresh seafood is a must have at any local beachside establishment and in a world of cutting costs and increasing revenue (where frozen seafood from around the globe is sold as fresh) rest assured at The Deck, you are getting exactly what you paid for. The Mexican (ft long) street dog, Aloha Tuna, and smashed avocado are also great choices when perusing the robust menu but no matter what the choice, you won't be disappointed in another addition to the local popular Collins Quarter. I have always believed that food, and good food at that, can be found in most establishments around Savannah. What sets places apart however, is the atmosphere and, perhaps most importantly, the service. We were pleasantly surprised when the Manager of The Deck came by to touch our table and see not only how our food and service was but how he could make our experience better. The waitress alone and her attentiveness was more than enough for our small group but going the extra mile and being approached by management is a seemingly dying activity and something we will always appreciate. Average is all I can say. The location is great and the servers are great as well along with a staff of managers that care about the customer for sure but $17 for fish and chips, is hard to justify. I was fine with paying that price when I saw the pictures of the dish that showed the fish being longer than the plate and looking huge but in reality it was just an average size and the flavor wasn't anything spectacular either. Just some ok breading on a fish that may or may not have been fresh. I respect the establishment that is in place here but overall the experience with the meal especially for such a hefty fee was simply not memorable or one that I want to have again. read more

Great place with friendly staff, you can choose seating inside or out on the deck(hence the name). We chose to sit outside and. Enjoy the sun and breeze plus the view of the beach. The service was excellent not only our waitress checking on us but other staff members as they passed by. We started with the Coconut Shrimp and the Peel and Eat Shrimp, both were incredible there is nothing like fresh shrimp. For the next part of the meal we tried the Mexican Street Corn, I'm not sure if there are words to describe just exactly how delicious and tasty it is, have one you will want to order six more. For the main we had the Bacon Burger with Malt Vinegar Fries the burger is Char-grilled and cooked to your preference nothing better then a char-grilled burger. read more

We had dinner at The Deck. The host was very pleasant and very considerate. All the staff wore mask. The food was delicious. We ate outside and the beach breeze made for a very comfortable experience. It wasn't too hot. They also had industrial fans running for those who were seated farther away from the beach and closer to the building. We had the grilled chicken nachos. It is a spicy but very tasty! Next we shared a low country broil combo (shrimp and crab legs). Most of the seasoning was on the outside but the meat was delicious! Make sure you use the lemons to clean your hands. read more

No wait at 530 pm. Pretty location with updated furnishings. Clean and modern. Good food with portions on smaller side, which we love.

Cute little place where we were able to sit on the Deck & watch the ocean during lunch on our girls trip. Food was good and our waiter was super. We had two hour limit on parking so after eating we were able to walk the beach for about 30 mins before leaving. read more

I have no clue how this place has 4 stars. The location and view are great and the staff was definitely friendly. But that about It. In regards to food and service, the service was absolutely slow. We waited probably 20 minutes for an app and 40 minutes for our entree after apps (sandwich h and fish and chips). With that kind of wait, you would imagine the place was packed. I would say MAYBE 25% of tables were occupied but likely less. Then, if it's not packed, you imagine when they bring your food it would atleast be freshly cooked. Wrong again. Our fish was luke warm at best and fries not warm at all and undercooked. I imagine the food was ready to serve a half hour prior to us getting it and it just cooled on a shelf until they remembered to serve us. Once we started to eat the food we realized it was bland and unseasoned. The fish sandwich had zero spice or flavor as described, it was essentially plain. The only thing we could taste on the sandwich was avocado and mild fish. The fish and chips were described as having malt vinegar flavor. There was a single patch of what looked like powdered malt about The size of a half dollar on the fish. Concentrated in one spot. Very strange. One would normally Sprinkle over the entire piece of fish or toss it with the flavoring. The only good thing to say about the food is that neither is us had diarrhea or vommitted after wards. So it is in fact edible, but I would have been more satisfied eating hot dog and a bag of Doritos from a 711. read more

One of the most disappointing and miserable meals I've ever had. Such a great location but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Mexican dog, well it should be renamed the bland dog, absolutely flavourless. I worked at a baseball park last summer and the dollar dogs are pretty cheap and nasty. My $12 hotdog today was worse, served on a dry hoagie bread roll. Just lacked anything. Then I got a cob of corn with cheese on it, nothing to write home about. The waitress bought me fries after she realised I wasn't happy with the corn, and thought I was joking when I said I didn't like it. All in all a very bland waste of my time on Tybee meal. If you like food, this place isn't for you. Maybe just get drinks there, that said even my water was pathetic, after not getting a refill for most of the time I got given a luke warm water with no ice. read more

Bless their hearts. I wanted to love this place, I had come back a second time to give them another shot, but they flopped again. When we arrived, we asked to be seated outside. The host told us it would be about 20 min. We said that was totally fine, gave her our number for the text, told her we'd be at the bar (10 ft away), and we waited. The bartender was so nice but made an awful, bitter drink when we ordered something sweet. I didn't see my text, at first but after 2 min I saw the notification and walked up to the host. She told me she was sorry but we'd have to wait another 20 minutes. I asked why, I was only 2 min behind, and she was looking at us at the bar, she new we were there and didn't gesture or some get us. She was just not a good host, didn't seem well trained at all. We are finally seated 40 MINUTES after we arrived, and we were right outside the door. We were not greeted, given waters, or any attention for another 15 minutes while every server walked right by us. I couldn't believe it. An incredibly kind server walked passed and checked on us. Got us drinks and menus. She was the best, I wish I remembered her name. When our food came out, my fiancé's low country was cold, hard, and just sprinkled in old bay seasoning. It was unreal and pitiful. At this point maybe since it was so late and close to closing, we think they didn't really care and gave us just what was left over. My burger fell apart as soon as I touched it. It was just one thing after another, and our whole experience here was ruined. I can't come back for mediocre food, and awful service. Wow! We came today for a late lunch around 2:30. A little tricky figuring out the parking at the hotel. We found the restaurant tucked behind the pool area. Inside this place is a lot bigger than I expected. We got seated on the deck looking at the ocean. Simply beautiful! My girl ordered a Bloody Mary and I got a Pepsi with a lime (DD driver). I know this may sound dumb, but the lime was one of those littles ones you see in key west, very flavorful. GF reports the Bloody Mary is really good. I order the fish tacos. Stop here. We live in Saint Augustine and travel from Miami to Myrtle Beach a lot. This is THE best fish taco I've ever had. She got the Red Fish sandwich, the fish is perfectly prepared. Our server was Dawn, but the servers work as a team. Dawn gave us wonderful personal service, she made this a great experience!! Thanks to everyone here today, we will be back!! read more

The Deck has probably the best beachside seating on Tybee. The atmosphere is really nice; it's just too bad the food wasn't better. Might be my fault since I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was frozen, and bordered on mushy. Chips were good though. The other dishes ordered by our party looked better, but everyone agreed that we'd been to better places for dinner on Tybee. read more

We stayed at the resort attached to The Deck. It was nice and convenient to have The Deck for drinks and food. If you are on the beach, go up to the bar and grab a cold beverage from one of their many friendly bartenders. Hungry? The Deck offers a lot of choices on their menu.
