Not impressed at all with the food or the service. My omelette was not cooked all the way. It looked as if they cooked the egg and then threw the vegetables on top. I also waited at the hostess station for 15 minutes before anyone checked in with me. I won't be returning. read more

The host staff here are incompetent and are hurting this business. There were 3 hosts working Saturday lunch and none of them had a clue. The owner is super nice but needs to read this review. They were running a 15 minute wait with 8 open tables and only 3 people on list. Mistake 1 as we almost left. Knowing the restaurant business, I knew they mis quoted the time longer than it would be. In addition, we waited as my 73 year old mom is a regular here, as its close enough to walk. So when asked where she wanted to celebrate her first outing for lunch after back fusion surgery this past week - she said here. We all walked which she used her walker and was the furthest she would be able to do. A miracle. 2 of the 5 of us had never been here and we will not be back by the way we were treated. As we waited, they sat the three tables in front, but then proceeded to seat smaller party tables who walked in after us claiming it was for that reason. Meanwhile, they sat a table of three arriving after us at the table I assumed they'd seat us. One -- it was our turn on list and two -- it would seat 5 people beautifully. In addition -- they could of sat the 3 pp at any of the 4 top tables they could of easily pushed together too to accommodate us. I am not writing this to get anything free, but to say we left. Not one person cared or even apologized. We walked home, we got the car and drove across town to her other favorite place. Now -- that shows how much they screwed this up. We had this 1 star experience all before we sat down. Do not go here for special occasions unless you want to be disappointed. read more

Decent food (thought my Belgian waffle was quite tasty) and clean place, but if I could give 2 1/2 stars, that'd be more accurate. I was expecting a step above IHOP, but it felt comparable in terms of quality and service with a slightly higher price. read more

UPDATE: We decided to take the manager, Roberto Martinez, up on his offer to make things right. We are glad that we did! He was kind and generous (took the two highest priced entrees, plus two coffees off of our bill) this a.m. We sat in the same place (we're a party of six) and it was pleasant. We will return! Very disappointed this a.m. Food was fine. Our waitress was enthusiastic and thoughtful. The problem, you know by the two stars that there was one. We (six) were seated in the front at a circular table. About half way through our meal, a large party of five was seated directly behind at a four top booth, putting the fifth person on the end of the booth. That left maybe a couple of feet between our backs in a major route for all servers. I scooted in so that my torso was touching the table. REPEATEDLY I was bumped as servers moved through the restaurant. Spoke with the manager before we left, he apologized. He did not, however, offer any kind of comp. Hence, this review. I ordered breakfast burrito to go, it was hot and made in timely fashion. My issue with the food was it was all potato, very small amount of egg and a piece of chorizo sausage that was size of quarter. I ordered all toppings on the side so it wouldn't get soggy by time I ate it. When I opened the burrito I was very disappointed. If you like to pay 10$ for all potato burrito this is the one for you. read more

Walked in and stood at the hostess station while the "manager" stood there talking on the phone and didn't acknowledge us at all, even to say we'll be right with you. The hostess, who obviously needs to find a new job that does not involve being friendly and greeting people, walked up and reluctantly seated us. We sat for at least 10 minutes before a waitress trainee came to take our order. At least she was very sweet. A table that was definitely seated several minutes after us recieved their food long before my friend went up to inquire from the "manager" what the hold-up was with our food. The waitress and trainee brought out our food and apologized for the wait. Halfway through our plates the waitress came to see how everything was. We honestly told her that our food was at best lukewarm when we recieved it. She said she would go tell the "manager". He never came to our table, instead he took a whole $1.90 off our check. My first time there, food was mediocre but I could have enjoyed it if we could've gotten past the rudeness of the "manager" with the stretched out ear lobes and the hostess with her nose in the air. First impressions mean alot. Cute little place though. Maybe someday when they have new management we will try again. read more

Havent Been to the delectable egg in about a year because our last experience was so horrible. We actually heard the manager talking about us, from around the corner. She never offered to stop by or fix our food, which we had told our server was cold. However, to our pleasant surprise we went to meet some friends at the Delectable Egg today. Our servers name was Carry, and she was very fast and friendly. We ordered waffles which were fully and crisp. She came back to refill our coffee which she left the pot on the table for us. Then a new manager stopped by and asked how our meal was. Everyone was smiling and the wait was very short- just about 5 minutes. Delicious food and great service. The place looked a lot cleaner this time vs last as well. We will be back! read more

My husband and I just came from eating here. The staff was very friendly but the food was awful. We are both vegetarians and ordered both of our entrees (orange county omelet and top of the mornin' scramble) which didn't have meat in them. Little did we know their "speciality" potatoes are full of bacon. We both ate more than half of our meals before we noticed the crumbled bacon throughout our food. Perhaps if their menu stated their potatoes contain meat, other diners wouldn't make the mistake we did. Our food was also very greasy. read more

I have gone there because, for some reason others like it. Went there this AM, was awful as usual. A good breakfast at a Breakfast Place should be a no brainer, not here. I had poached eggs and corned beef hash. The hash was right out of the can, which is OK if I choose to do that at home. My major gripe is that they don't use butter for toast. I asked for it and they said that they don't have butter. It's not a cheap place so why cheap horrible ingredients? I'll never go there again. Maybe the area just needs more breakfast places and it may not be as crowded as it is now. The atmosphere is actually very pleasant but that's it! read more

Excellent breakfast spot and I'm an enormous breakfast fan!! I went to this place regularly for 4 years until I moved to the other side of town. Fantastic food, well priced, great staff. This location blocks cell reception though making it the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Can't go here to wait for an important call but then again, I'm usually eating!! read more

Here you get good and friendly service, a pleasant dining area, far better than average breakfast fare, plus very reasonable prices. What's not to like about The Delectable Egg? Just one thing.... They close at two and people are clearing out at 1:30 pm. Wouldn't it be much better to perhaps close the restaurant at 4 pm instead of 2? I think so. read more

generally not a huge fan of chain breakfast places, but i was here for a meeting and it'd been awhile since my last visit. it took awhile to get our large party seated, even though a member of our party had come by 45min ahead of time to give them a heads up-- but the brunch scene in denver is getting more and more popular and we did have a lot of people. we probably would have had a much longer wait at any other brunch spot on a saturday. we were eventually situated in an L-shaped configuration in a corner, which was nice and private, but it must have been directly under an AC vent so it was pretty cold. our orders were promptly taken, and the food came out fairly quickly-- especially impressive for how many people we had. i ordered the green eggs & ham benedict, which sounded great on the menu, but was a confused mishmash of flavors, with an overpowering pesto spread competing with the heavily salted ham. the hash browns balanced it out, but even those were a little overcooked and more dry/crispy than ideal. the egg on the benedict was slightly runny but could have been cooked a little less for more of that gorgeous exploding runny egg effect that ties everything together. maybe my expectations were just misplaced because the menu noted that their benedicts were their specialty. i'm sure that with such an extensive array of options on the menu, there are bound to be some other good picks. service-wise, we did get our food promptly, but it was difficult to get the server's attention so our table had no water for a long time. when we finally waved her down to ask for more water, we only got one small carafe for a party of 10. overall, food and service isn't too amazing and although i am sure there are some much better dishes available, there are also a bunch of other local brunch spots in town that i'd like to visit, so i probably wouldn't be back for awhile unless someone else was choosing the restaurant. read more
