Wow, how does this place have lines?!?!? I came here after the Rock n Roll Denver half. There were people waiting to be seated, and we asked how long. The hostess told us 15 minutes... which turned into 40. Seriously, we were about to walk out when she called us and I think we would have been better off if we had. First of all, while I am no expert in how to run a restaurant, you could just tell this place was so poorly run. Tables sat a long time before being bused, which is probably why the wait was so long. Our waitress was really nice, but appeared to be THE ONLY WAITRESS for the whole restaurant. There were others running food out, but that was it. My food was OK, but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't have mattered because NO ONE CAME BACK TO CHECK. My friend loved his. When our waitress finally came back, she tried to sell us on desserts, but by then, we really had to go, and I asked for the check. I had to ask a second time because we still didn't have it, and by now we were running behind schedule to get ready and catch flights home. I felt bad for the waitress (again, I really think she was the only one), so I gave her a full tip. When we went to pay at the hostess stand, she asked how things were and I said "just OK." One would think that might be an opening to follow up, try and make things right... nope! Sorry Delectable Egg, not only were you not delectable, there are too many other places around for me to bother coming back to somewhere that clearly doesn't care. read more

The hotel where I was staying at offered free breakfast, but I had overslept and missed it. Met up with my co-worker, and ate here. I thought the service was excellent, but I've only been here once. Portions were good, and I like the hot tea variety. So much to choose from, and I like that they bring you the full tea caddy. I wish they'd offer organic steavia though instead of aspartame. I would have given them 5 stars, so maybe the owner will read this review and make some changes. read more

We found out of this other location in Downtown Denver. I recommend the steak and eggs, the crab eggs Benedict, and the french toast. I noticed that the French toast from the kids menu here was different (better) than the other location where we ate yesterday. We're here for a week, so this was a good option to change up from the Hotel breakfast. read more

Awful service. No one was at the hostess stand for 5 minutes. Doesn't seem long, but stand still for 5 min. It's ridiculous. We finally got seated and our server "hadn't gotten to work yet". What?! So we had to wait. By the time we got menus and a water, we'd been there 15 minutes. We saw our server once and from what we could tell, we were their only table. Our coffee came out wrong and no offer of cream/ sugar. Another 5 min to get cream/ sugar FROM THE BUSSSER!!! They weren't busy. Maybe 5 tables in a restaurant that can serve more than 5 patrons at a time from the size of the restaurant. The bathroom is locked with a keypad. There's no sign. There's no note on a menu. Nothing to indicate a code number or that you even need one. So if you need to use their restroom, don't stand there like a donkey. The food came out wrong. Husband ordered a sandwich and his choice of bread was an English muffin... it came out on Texas sized toast with an English muffin on the side?! He asked for potatoes and got hash browns. Mine came out with scrambled eggs when I ordered over medium. I just can't understand that mistake. Great food, combined with fast & friendly service! So refreshing to see happy patrons dining in a full restaurant with smiling employees. The staff genuinely seemed happy and we're definitely eager to please. The food was delicious and fairly priced. Nice portions. My daughter and I noticed the mix of young employees combined with seasoned staff. It's been a while since I've experienced a joyful dining experience. I know staffing is challenge for so many businesses. The Delectable Egg must treat their people right because they seemed to have ample team members and all were engaged with their customers and working together as a team. GREAT JOB!! I'm only writing this because I had a bad experience. I understand during Covid things can be a little crazy. But this restaurant seemed to be moving food in and out quickly. They were only taking take out orders and tending to those sitting outside. So we decided to order on-line. We put our order in at 10:02 in the morning, and the app said it'd be ready at 10:17. Coming back at 10:18 we had to wait another 5 minutes because they were helping others. When I told her I was picking up, she didn't see my order in there and proceeded to take my order again manually. While doing so, my order magically pops up on the screen and she tells me it will be another 10 min. So we wait while everyone one else is getting their order along with Uber eats and grub hub pick ups. We finally pick up our order a total of 43 minutes. I feel like I should've made my order in person. In the lobby area there are tables for on-line orders, grub hub, UberEats, etc... maybe someone took our food. People were going in and out to grab food from these tables. No one was checking. Not sure. Just unhappy with the service I experienced. $26.00 for pancakes and bacon for 2 and 2 eggs. No drinks. A neighborhood breakfast spot. On weekends this place does a BIG business. Expect to wait 10 - 20 minutes. Personable wait staff. I had a Denver omelet (ham, green bell peppers, onions and cheese) - I know its trite, but this is the spot that it was invented or so they say. This claim is a little fuzzy as there is a plaque on California Street downtown says, "The Denver omelet was developed to mask the stale flavor of eggs shipped by wagon freight." Hummm. So probably not at The Delectable Egg. Anyway it was a reasonable omelet, tender but I'm not sure the kitchen folks remembered to season it. After an addition of salt and pepper, it was pretty good. Same deal with the hash browns. The English muffin I ordered with the omelet took about 10 minutes extra to be delivered. While paying attention to the tables around me, it seemed like they were having trouble getting toast of any type out. That's weird. The highlight was the omelet was impaled with a miniature City of Denver flag. Strange looking flag, especially compared to the really attractive Colorado flag. This past weekend was my second visit to Delectable Egg. So it it must have been good enough to visit twice ;) The convenience is what first drew me here. They open early and are located walking distance from most of the Downtown hotels. Its clean, casual, and mostly quiet. Good spot to start your day. The food is tasty. Nothing too out of the ordinary, just good quality comfort food. I do feel the drinks are a little pricy, but we are downtown. The waitstaff are great!! Great place for brunch in downtown Denver! Two lady friends of mine and I went to The Delectable Egg on Friday and were so impressed! One ordered a cobb salad, a other had the breakfast burrito, and I ordered the Green Chili & Chorizo Benedict! All were delicious! We also shared a couple of carafes of mimosas. Received a text saying the estimated time for pickup and that a follow up text would be sent when it was actually ready. 10 minutes after the estimated time and no update text went into the restaurant and sure enough food was sitting there. Ehhh. I saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it out since it's so close to the hotel I stay at for work. The service was pretty good but the food was very unimpressive :( I got the alpine skillet with the veggies. I egg-spected (lol) it to come out all mixed together but the eggs were just on top of the veggies which definitely weren't cooked enough. Great little spot if you want to avoid the corporatey chains on the 16th Street Mall and long waits for a table. Warm, friendly atmosphere-our server on Saturday said she had been a waitress for 31 years. The interior reminds me of my Grandma's house-in a good way. Very accommodating to food allergies. The head chef even came out to personally talk to Jeremiah about what he could and could not eat. They have gluten free bread too. They are wiling to cook in a separate pan to avoid cross contamination. Had the new Portabella Road mushroom eggs Benedict on a whole wheat English muffin. I preferred it to Jelly's Benedict's. Tough choice, between here and Snooze. Well The Football hour was vast approaching. So we Choose The Delectable Egg. We were quickly seated. And Felt like we were sitting in a Cafe Somewhere in Nebraska. Where you expect all the waitress' to be called Flo and All Call you Hun. Mmmm The Hot Chocolate is served with Class in a Nice Glass Mug. I ordered the stuffed french toast made with wheat. Cream Cheese and Strawberries stuffed in the middle.
