I have been slowly working my way through the entire menu here, so far they have all been good. However the Mad Italian and the Super Salty Dog are tied for 1st place. The combination of meats, smothered in olive oil, bold flavors and a sliver of pickle just push them over the top. WOW, these sandwiches were probably the best I've had. Service was quick, and parking was easy to find. We went around 1:30pm so it was a little bit after the lunch crowd I suppose. I got the budster, which is smoked ham and smoked Turkey. Seriously freakin good. Husband got the mad Italian and he said it's the best sandwich he's had. the meat was thinly sliced, and the bread!!! I'm never going back to Jersey Mikes after coming here, not that they're bad, but this place is significantly better! I went here after looking at their menu and purchased The Budster sandwich with just turkey, ham, provolone, oregano, and mayo on it. It's basically the same thing as a Jersey Mike's #7. The person at the counter was very kind towards me and it was nice chatting with him, I told him I'm from New Jersey and after living in Virginia for the better part of 10 years I figured it's time to finally try a sandwich here. The sandwich was delicious, I paid a little over $13 for it, but I think it was worth it. They put a lot of meat on the sandwich and both the meats and bread tasted very good. They managed to do a good job at making the bread soft, but not soggy, and the flavors are much better than what you'd get from a Jersey Mikes sandwich. Lastly, I really like that they sell some Italian treats here, maybe the next time I come I'll get some. I highly recommend you a get a sandwich from here, as I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Great food, good price. The only knock is there is there in not a lot of room to eat inside.

As some others have noted, this is more a sandwich shop than a true deli. It's located just off Riverside Parkway in the drive to Harris Teeter, in a small site on the right side of the road. You won't see it until you get right up on it, and because of the location, parking is generally very difficult due to traffic coming into the grocery store area. You have the choice of parallel parking in traffic. (if you can find a space) or parking in the grocery store parking lot and walking about a block and a half back to the site. The sandwiches are fairly decent; good size, bread is better than average, and you get a fairly good amount of contents, but it's adequate, not generous. She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO) and I went about 5 pm and were pretty pleased with the BBQ beef and Italian sandwiches: the BBQ actually tasted like it had been somewhere near a fire (wasn't just roast beef with BBQ sauce) and had a pleasant tasting slaw included. The Italian had good tomatoes and meat, particularly the salami. Both had pickle spears, and a soft drink (dinner special). Service was quick, and they support mobile ordering. The only major complaint is the parking -- an accident waiting for a place to happen given the skill of the average NoVa mommyvan driver in this neighborhood. Overall: Not spectacular, but competent. read more

Always on the road, always looking for a good sandwich. Relying on Yelp for some direction on an unknown location, brought me here. I can't remember the name of the sandwich...Mambo something? It was an Italian. The sub was served on a soft roll. My roll preference is hard so that was a miss for me. But if you like your rolls soft, it's was nice and fresh. Note, as rolls are personal, I did not factor that into my rating. Overall the sandwich was good with an adequate amount meat and cheese. What was missing was flavor. With an abundance of shredded lettuce, chopped ham, and a weird watery dressing, the flavors were muted and somewhat full. Missing was the bit of pepperoni and sharp taste of provolone, the heat of onion. I would eat here again if in the area. read more
