It was my badge of dishonor and I wore it on my SUV for three years. In a perfect storm of circumstances that lead to disaster, I ended up "bumping" our garbage can while backing out of the garage. Didn't think much about it, until I saw the look of horror on Mr. K's face. Basically that little bump managed to create a whopper of a dent on the front panel and driver's side door of my car. And because it was my fault (with a lot of help from my son who was on garbage duty that week), and I have a high insurance deductible, I didn't fix it for years. Initially, we got estimates from established body shops (all over $1,000) and I was flagged down on occasion by guys in parking lots wanting to fix it ("Hey, lady!"). In a fit of exasperation, I might have taken a plunger to the car trying to "pop" it back out. It amused my husband for days, but my attempt was unsuccessful. But then Mr. K came to the rescue and got several personal recommendations from friends who used The Ding Bat. After an initial phone consultation which included sending photos, he explained what he thought he could and could not do and quoted a price for the repair. It is a mobile service, so we arranged to have the repair done at the office parking lot during the work day. After inspecting the car in person, he again described the repair and what was included and not. It was raining, so he just put up an awning and then a few hours later, Voila! I could not believe the difference. He ended up accomplishing more than the consultation suggested and over delivered. The price was about a third of that quoted by the other body shops and it was just so darn easy and convenient. We paid by check. I believe it is a father/son business and Mike did the work on our car. Not that I hope to need his services any time in the near future, but for this repair it was a great experience. I am fairly particular about my vehicles, and it pains me when I get the inevitable small ding or dent from a parking lot hazard or mishap around the garage. A few years back, Mike came out to my home to fix a couple small dings on my pick up truck, and ended up taking out two or three dings on my truck, a couple dings on my car, and a moderate dent on my motorcycle fuel tank which I was almost certain that I would have to take to a body shop for a repaint. I am about to become a repeat customer, as I have a small dings which have accumulated over time. I much prefer to not to repaint an original or otherwise good paint surface when at all possible. Going to a body shop is costly, and also it difficult to keep the car's paint condition consistent when repainting on a car that has aged over time, even for a skilled body and fender person. I have a 2015 F150 that had hail damage on the hood, a fender, and the roof. I asked Mike to do just the hood and fender so I could see what he was able to do. I am amazed at the quality of his work! All the dings caused by the hail in these areas are gone without a trace! If you have hail damage, Mike is the only call you need to make. read more

WOW!!! I had several dings and one serious crease in the hood of my Mini Cooper. This would have cost $$$$$$ at an autobody shop. The Ding Bat did it for $275 and I swear, you can't even see where the dings USED to be. One of the dings (in a side panel) required drilling into the inside door jamb to access, then they sealed the paint and put a rubber grommet on there just like another one the dealer had for some other purpose--it's very professionally done and looks like it was meant to be there (and you can only see it with the door open, so who cares, right?). This is such an amazing service. I told them I would yelp about them and they were like, "What's Yelp?" Someone should tell them :) read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but I got a recommendation for the Ding Bat dent repair for two serious door dings; one was on the forward seam of the back door and the other was right on a reveal line on the side of the body. I actually had another company work on the door seam dent with no luck so I was a little skeptical that it could be fixed. Wow....The Dingbat did a great job! You can't even tell the dents were there. And he is mobile so he can show up at your house or office. This guy should get SIX STARS! read more

When I bought my car, it had 3 rather good sized dings in it. I called Ding Bats and they were great, and mentioned where they already were, and said I could come to them or them to me. I chose to go to them since I was already out and about, and LITERALLY in 15 minutes they had all the dings pushed out with no trace of them ever existing, and it cost just a small fraction of what body shops wanted! These guys do paintless dent removal. I had 3 dents in my car that needed attention. First of all the business is located in Newberg, OR but they are mobile. I live in North Portland which is about an hour drive for them, no problem. They arrived on time and got right to work in my driveway. Unfortunately only one dent was able to be removed, but their worker was busy for about 3 hours and felt really bad about not being able to get all of the dents out (even though that isn't his fault, he tried). He got one dent completely out and improved one of the others so much that it's almost not noticeable. On top of that he removed 2 areas of paint transfer that weren't even related to the dents he was working on. He only charged me $85 for all of this! That is what most would have charged me for the drive time I'm sure. I really appreciated the customer service this company provides, as well as the quality work. I recommend that no matter what kind of collision work you need, you check to see if it's something they can do. It will save you tons of money in the long run! read more
