Dined here a few nights ago for dinner. It's located on the second floor of the hotel. Our server was very prompt & nice. I was having difficulty choosing between the Alfredo or pesto pasta. Thankfully per her honest recommendation I chose the pesto with blackened chicken. She was honest about the lack of flavor in the Alfredo & from how lackluster the pesto tasted I know she was right. This was the worst pesto I've ever tasted. The lack of flavor was astounding! Anyone who loves pesto knows it's very flavorful. Maybe because I'm from New Jersey ( the Italian food capital) my opinion is a bit skewered. All in all the blackened chicken & garlic bread saved the meal and made it great. This is a very cute place to have dinner or drinks. A place you could take a date prior to dinner or after. I would come back, the cosmopolitan was delicious.

Came here for a night cap since we were staying at the hotel. As soon as you walk-in, the restaurant and bar is completely open. We found a seat but the table hadn't been wiped down. Someone came and wiped our booth down and see was extremely nice. You can tell however, the rag was old bc it left behind a stench. There wasn't a lot of ppl there. I ordered an espresso martini which was really good. We did eat here the next night, ordered apps. We had a different waiter and str was nice as well. This time it was packed with folks on a business trip. The food was average but it was satisfying and super convenient.

We stayed at the Magnolia to go to the Astros game. I was offered free breakfast in lieu of the 1k Marriott points as a bonus. Let me say, this was the best hotel breakfast we have had. You have the option of ordering from the menu or a fully stocked hot buffet. My wife ordered the Breakfast Tacos and my son and I had the buffet. The breakfast potatoes are amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Staff dressed in their Astros gear and is plentiful.

The pasta was very fresh, full of steam when mixing in the bowl. I got the brisket empanada. It was full of flavor, paired well with the mango slaw underneath. The chips and salsa took a little longer to come out, but that's because they were making more chips. You could tell they were fresh. Deniquia was very attentive and prompt with the service. However, that could be because the restaurant wasn't extremely busy. Dress casual, not a fancy hotel restaurant.

On my recent trip to Houston!…read more When I was searching for dowtown bars and dancing, Behind Closed Doors popped up. It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go. So, we walked down the dark hallway and pushed open door #3 (hence the name) to find this super cool speakeasy bar. Dim lights, really modern decor, comfy suede chairs and best of all, some really great cocktails. If you are ever in Downtown Houston, I highly recommend you coming here. I promise you will have the best time. We did not stay for dancing.

The drinks were solid, and the overall atmosphere was definitely a vibe. We went on a Saturday evening, so it was pretty crowded, but once we found our spot in the Gold Room, we stayed there most of the night. Great music, great energy, and a unique concept. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different for a night out. Not sure how it took me this long to stumble in here. Parking is what it is downtown so, there's that.

The whiskey selection extensive and the staff actually knows how to guide you through it if you're not sure what you want. Vibe is more of a low lit, cozy, and feels a little upscale without being too pretentious.. Good spot for date night or just grabbing drinks with friends after a show. A solid cocktail spot to checkout

Every drink earns you a token to vote for one of four local charities that change monthly. At the end of the month, the charity with the most tokens receives a donation. I love to see the wall of monthly winners, and note the difference this bar has made in our community. This has to be a win for all given you can catch up with friends, enjoy a drink, and support a good cause all at the same time. The space itself is beautiful.
