I had a meet and greet who selected this location it is located inside of this gorgeous hotel on the first floor. They do offer valet parking for $40. They do not validate parking. There is a parking lot that's directly across the street from it and it's only two options which they have a option as by hours which is automatically set at 12 hours for $32 or all day for $37 and good luck on finding street parking after 6 PM which would be complementary. I had the lemon honey garlic butter salmon, which was cooked to perfection the taste 10 out of 10 the texture 10 out of 10 the color 10 out of 10 it was perfect. I really love that. The top layer of the fish had a crispiness to it. Keep in mind they salmon fish. We'll come with the skin on after you're not a skin fan like myself request to have it removed when prepared. The service was very kind. The place was extremely empty which it made me feel a bit discouraged, but the service from Miss Lucy was magical and the food was perfection. I would definitely be back after 6 o'clock because paying the same price to park your car or more to park your car then for a $34 dish is just not in my plans. read more

My hubby and I ate at Zutro several times during our stay at Le Meridien, and it was always great! They always had attentive service and always plenty of seating available. A 2 star review is usually an immediate no for most people when looking for recommendations. However, please read my whole review to help you decide if you should dine here. Furthermore, this review is based on the restaurant experience on the ground level, we didn't use the rooftop bar. This restaurant is part of a hotel. My wife made reservations for us for a date night. There was no host to greet or seat us. We just walked up to the bar and told the bartender that we have reservations and he replied, "You can just sit anywhere you like." Uh, OK, what the hell is the point of making reservations then? Weird for a so-called, "fine dining" experience but whatever. We took a seat at a booth and the table was blank. No menus, no table cloths, no silverware, nothing. We noticed that a table not far from us had a gentleman that seemed to be upset that his server hadn't come back to them yet. When he finally saw her, he agitatedly asked for menus. That same server was assigned to our table. We were greeted by the server. She told us she was going to get menus. That took her about 7 minutes. She gave us time to look over the menus, that took about 15 minutes. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and our main courses since we had extra time to scan the menu. We ordered the bam bam shrimp as an app, I ordered the pork chop with Brussel sprouts, and my wife ordered the Salmon Florentine. The drinks took another 15 minutes (I only had a diet coke). My wife's drink was terrible and they tried putting sugar on the outside of the glass, EPIC FAIL. The sugar dripped down the glass and made the whole glass sticky. Anyway, we waited for about 25 minutes before she walked over and said, "Salmon Florentine is ready but we're still cooking the pork chop." We both said to each other, "What about the appetizer?" And furthermore, if the Salmon was ready, why didn't you bring it out? Sigh... The food finally came out a whopping 33 minutes after we ordered it. They also had the NERVE to bring out the shrimp appetizer WITH our main entrees. We immediately refused the bam bam shrimp. An appetizer doesn't come out with your main entrees. That literally defeats the point. What we will give them credit for (and this is the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1), both of our dishes were actually delicious. Great presentation, great flavor, cooked perfectly, it was just really good. But the service was terrible and I'm a bigger stickler for that than the food tasting good. Overall, maybe you'd enjoy this place for the rooftop experience at night but as for dinner, it'll probably be good, just make sure you can stream Netflix on your phone while you wait. This place has potential, maybe it just needs the Bar Rescue guy to come in and help them out. Lol. Tip 1: Valet parking service is not bad but just remember you have to pay on the second floor at the concierge desk. Tip 2: This area can be a little sketchy at night. Nobody bothered us but there was a lot of loitering outside the restaurant and panhandlers. Tip 3: The rooftop bar is on the 28th floor but there can be a wait for the elevator. (We did briefly go up there because we thought that's where we were going to eat.) read more

Only Order the bread pudding as a snack and it was good, but it took so long they ended up comping the dish. Thankfully the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff really seemed sincere. So I tip them because good help is hard to find and it wasn't their fault. read more

Came here for the rooftop bar. Outside it's advertised as "open". Had to climb up the stairs and wander around before we were told it's closed because of the weather. Don't advertise it on a Friday night then! Came all the way here and so we tried their bar drinks at the restaurant side. Had good service with plenty of water refills. The issue was the drinks. We ordered a Campari cocktail and a bourbon-based old fashioned. The first tasted too bitter with an overwhelming herbal taste. The second tasted strong and bitter. The best part of both drinks was the maraschino cherry. Look, if you don't have a competent bartender on site, just tell us to order something else. Don't manipulate us by serving awful drinks that take us an hour (and all the ice to melt) to down and to not be able to order another drink (because who would?) Would not recommend. It was pretty cold when we got here, but it has a rooftop bar. Really nicely decorated at the top with some heat lamps. Apparently it's the tallest rooftop bar in Houston. What luck that we stumbled upon it. Be sure to tip your bartenders nicely, they're mixing your drinks and working out in the elements here. What an amazing surprise that we experienced a fantastic due to the Hurricane Beryl. i enjoyed a delicious and generous, portioned meat lovers omelette with well seasoned potatoes for my breakfast. The burger was so bad. Dried and burnt. Bun was dried too. The fries were the only good thing - crunchy - which is how I like my fries (a little oily but I'll let that slide). The food took a while to come out even though the place wasn't busy. They only staffed one waiter too, but she was very sweet and accommodating. A very beautiful restaurant I must say. They had a rooftop that had amazing views of the downtown buildings, so go in the evening! Music was the bomb with the 2000s throwbacks. We parked at the parking garage next to the place, it was like $22 or you can meter park at the meter. Parking is free Sundays. Food and service downstairs is meh. I ate and had my engagement dinner there. The gumbo is good. You can get it as a meal. The redfish is not good. It's dry and unsavory. For the engagement, I talked to the manager ahead of time about having a few extra dishes that were dairy-free and vegetarian. We sat down and there were no special dishes prepared. smh. The salad was identified on the menu as vegan, however it had cheese and I'm lactose intolerant. The delivery person went back to get the missing items and brought me salad dressing that didn't go with the salad. $46 bought me no attention to detail, a lousy salad, and good French fries. I came here for dinner with friends on a Friday night and was actually surprised to see the restaurant completely empty. The service was excellent and our waitress was very friendly. The whiskey sour was made perfectly and the egg white was just the right amount. We ordered the pork belly with bib lettuce salad and the pork belly was so tender and flavorful it was probably our favorite appetizer. The Burrata was also delicious but could have used a balsamic or pesto drizzle. My husband ordered the short rib tagliatelle and the meat was tender but really not super flavorful or anything to write home about. When trying to call the number listed, the voicemail is full and unable to leave a message. So I sent an email and in turn got a phone call back confirming a reservation. When we found out the final headcount of 10, I attempted yet again to update the restaurant but to no avail, so I sent another email with the information they would need to be prepared for us upon our arrival. We show up, and our table was not ready. The staff seemed clueless. I exclaimed we had a total of 10 guest to which they set us up for a party of 20. The wait staff took forever to get a drink order and we received the food and drinks one maybe two people at a time. They did not use food trays. We were seated for 2 hours and with multiple waiters/waitresses, there definitely should have been much better customer service. It was just a hot mess. We were there celebrating our bachelor/bachelorette party after being together for 17+ years. We were hoping for a much better experience, but you can bet your ass we will NOT be back. The tried to make up for their lack of service or give a shit if you will by offering up a couple of free lemon drop shots to a few of us, but it was already ruined with the lack of their eagerness to do right the first time. When she returned with my husbands drink, I ordered a glass of wine and that was the last time we saw our waitress. 20-30 minutes later we heard the table behind us ask the GM about their drinks because they also ordered drinks and the waitress disappeared. Everything was great last night! It started out just my husband, our son and myself and ended up a large gathering with my extended family. We sat at a table in the back by the windows which was perfect because it was slightly partitioned off from the rest of the restaurant, which helped our growing number. Our server was Breyohn who was amazing, and the Director of F&B Alex helped kick us off and jumped in to assist when needed. The food was delicious, the drinks were great. What a terrific find! Wanted to try something new for our pre-theatre dinner and was not disappointed! We started with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and OMG. I think every restaurant should start serving Pork Belly Burnt Ends! That dish was phenomenal... sweet and succulent and perfectly fatty yet crisp with flavorful burnt edges. Together with the pickled vegetables, wrapped in fresh butter lettuce, each bite was a perfect one! The brisket was also delicious, and the burger was wonderful, as well. My team and I come to Zutro every once in a while when we have last minute lunch or dinner plans that no one took charge of. I don't particularly like this place for a few reasons but I would have to admit that in a pinch, they will accommodate a decent sized group for a meal and that the restaurant itself looks nice. Service is really slow and the staff seem confused. It also takes too long to get anything, especially drinks from the bar. Drinks shouldn't take as long as the food to get to your table. I don't particularly love or hate the food, it's very average for the pricing and think that the options within walking distance are much more worthy of your time and money. Should you find yourself at Zutro, I would recommend the flatbread and a whiskey. Cheers y'all! read more
