    Such a great Saturday!!!!

How do I start...There are lots of places one can visit in Scottsdale, but fewer you can be convinced to stay at. We had an absolute BLAST here and stayed much longer than we'd have expected, all because of an incredible server named Liz. She was over-the-top with her service, and I can't wait to send all of my friends here. Liz, thank you for your energy and impeccable service. We'll be back to see you again soon!

'Tis the season for football and baseball, where Sunday, Monday and Thursday night's rule. Even better, is staying in Scottsdale just a stone throws away from Old Town and having all those fine establishments at our fingertips to choose from when we want to grab a bite and watch a game. The District is an open and inviting place, with lots of tv's, a large bar and a djay that was spinning during the commercial breaks keeping the vibe upbeat and fun. The menu is a solid bar menu consisting of mainly shakes and buns with a few extras like cheese curds and sweet potato fries. As far as bars go, this one is a solid A-Ok for me. Nothing I didn't like but also nothing that made us say, " best we've been to" just a great location with a big bar atmosphere. It will do and we will be back. The extra star is for their delicious District julep... I heart juleps.

LOL Wait for the last bar to ruin our vacation in Scottsdale (which I really enjoyed and totally will be returning to, just not here). My boyfriend and I ordered a turkey burger and then as we were waiting by the bar to get a drink apparently he "grabbed my boobs" (I have no boobs, so not sure what the bouncer was even talking about) and their GM "Peter" kicked us out. We even asked to see the cameras because that's was a total lie and he just shoved us out the door saying he wouldn't show us (aka it didn't happen. To everyone, totally check out Scottsdale, but skip this place. I'm updating my response, as the owner responded... if your "customers felt uncomfortable with our behavior" than be honest with us and say that. Not make up BS that he grabbed my boob. Literally couldn't be more disgusted by such an establishment.

Sunday funday! Best bar in Old Town. Fun atmosphere, cute waitresses, and good food. It's a Packers bar so during the season this is our spot for the games. Bottomless mimosas on Sunday for $25. Quality food too. This place is poppin' all day and night on the weekends. Great music - their DJ's never disappoint. It's always a good time at The District. 5/5

BLACK PEOPLE AND PEOPLE THAT HAVE A BLACK FRIEND DON'T GIVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT ANY OF YOUR MONEY! I tried to come here to meet friends to watch the OSU vs Michigan game and was turned away by security because I had on Jordans.... Yes JORDANS... I can understand if it was a night club and you say no tennis shoes/ athletic wear but it was 10 am and there were others wearing tennis shoes. To specifically target that brand of shoe explicitly says what type of demographic your trying to keep out. When I was younger I would've argued with security, asked to speak with a manager and tried to convince them to let me in, but these days I'm not gonna fight to give you my money. I'll spend my money with establishments who welcome me. My friends who were let in before I got there tried to speak with a bartender and they were told it's just the policy. No logical reasoning as to why the policy is in place. They were also told no camo amongst other targeted dress code restrictions yet she was let in... Interesting. The bar is trash and classless for this. Eric - Other bars and clubs in that area have a no tennis shoe policy that do not single out Jordans in particular. I obviously don't know every establishments rules so I am sure there others that have this discriminatory policy as well as the district. Because multiple places have it does not justify you having it as well, it just means your all trash for having it.

A man repeatedly tried to touch and interact with us after being told no and after we made it very clear that we did not want to engage with him. When we ignored him, he became increasingly aggressive, started calling us "bitches," yelling insults at us, and eventually shoved one of the girls in our group. None of us ever put our hands on him or touched him. Security witnessed the situation and instead of removing the man who had been harassing us and became physically aggressive, security escorted our group out of the club. They continued allowing him to stand there arguing with us and calling us names while we were being removed. It genuinely felt like security was protecting him instead of the women he had been harassing. After we complained about how the situation was handled, they offered to let us back inside. We declined because at that point we did not feel safe or comfortable returning to a club where someone could repeatedly disrespect us, put his hands on one of us, and seemingly face no consequences. Women should be able to tell a man no without being repeatedly touched, verbally harassed, shoved, and then removed from the establishment while the person responsible is protected. We did not initiate a physical confrontation, and none of us touched him. I'm posting this because people, especially women going out in Scottsdale, deserve to know how this situation was handled. I sincerely hope Cake Nightclub and its management review what happened and take a serious look at how their security team responds to harassment and physical aggression toward guests.

There are far better venues in the area that don't operate this way. I decided to try 11:11 since it's only about 7 minutes from where I live. I'm a local and thought I'd check it out. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived it felt like a complete hustle from start to finish. Right away the security guards were rude and barely checking anyone, which honestly made me feel uneasy. Ironically, the same security that barely checks people will gladly let someone slide in if they slip them $20 or $40. Then you get to the cashier, and that's where the pricing circus starts. She was literally pulling prices out of thin air charging anywhere from $20 to $45 for entry or re-entry, even when people had stamps or were on the list. The re-entry situation was another red flag. Security told us clearly that if we had a stamp we could leave and come back. When we returned, suddenly they tried charging $25-$45 to get back in. Even people who had tables or were on the guest list were being asked for money. I watched security let people in if they slipped them cash while others were pushed to the cashier to pay whatever random price they decided at that moment. Once inside, the place is extremely cramped. Most of the dance floor is taken up by oversized bottle service tables, so there's barely any room to actually dance. On top of that, people were openly smoking weed inside and outside, so there was really no escaping the smoke. The bartenders had very catty attitudes toward customers and even toward each other. The pricing also seemed to depend on who was serving you. I ordered a simple vodka soda and was charged $16, then later ordered the exact same drink from another bartender and she charged me $14. Same drink, different price. The bottle service situation was just as shady. The bottle girls come around acting like they're helping your table, but they'll take shots from the bottle, pour uneven drinks, and constantly push more bottles. It felt less like service and more like a hustle to keep people spending. At that point it became clear that everyone was trying to get money out of you, security outside, the cashier at the door, bartenders at the bar, and bottle girls at the tables. I actually took pictures and videos that night documenting what was happening, because it was that obvious. I won't be going back.

We turned the corner and saw all these neon lights, strobe lights and music blasting all down the street at various clubs down Saddlebag Trail. Every major city has streets like this, but this street was super clean and all the clubs looked inviting. I am way past my clubbing days, but we were out there a little on the early side and it didn't look to crazy yet. Riot House was our first stop simply because it did not look too crowded and the music sounded good from the outside. How did I know this? Most of the establishments had an open air concept where their outer window walls can raise like a garage. I could've probably just stood on the street and had a good time too. We got patted down and entered this really nice looking club. We did a little walk through and found some seats at the bar. The bartenders were scantily clad and were definitely earning their tips with the hungry fellas all around. It took awhile to get some service and just as long for them to make our drinks. We went with margaritas which were overpriced but expected in Scottsdale. They were ok, nothing to write home about. At some point it started getting packed and all of a sudden they were taking all the seats around the bar out. That was a little tacky and helped in our decision to wrap it up and find somewhere more our speed. The DJ was playing some pretty good music and the crowd was hype for sure. It was cool to experience Scottsdale's club scene, but for me it's just not my thing anymore. Put me in a nice cocktail lounge or bar and I will be happy. Probably wouldn't come back here.

The restaurant and bar were not busy, so I expected prompt service, but unfortunately the service was surprisingly slow. I ordered the Fish & Chips, and I will give credit where it's due, even though it wasn't a large serving, the food itself was good. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the visit. The noise level inside the restaurant was overwhelming. The music was excessively loud, and to be honest not all that good of selection, making conversation difficult, and the staff were laughing and talking loudly just to be heard over it. It created a chaotic atmosphere that wasn't enjoyable, especially for an early evening meal in an almost empty restaurant/bar. What concerned me most was the overall cleanliness. There was food on the floor, crumbs and debris on the tables, and dirt and food particles and trash along the ledge surrounding our booth. It didn't look like these areas had been properly cleaned for quite some time. The television above our booth was covered with fingerprints, smudges, and food splatter, and the windows and patio doors were equally dirty. When the front-of-house is in that condition, it naturally makes you wonder what the kitchen and back-of-house look like. To add to the disappointment, my bill included a 4% "Event Venue Fee." There was no live music, private event, or special function taking place, just a quiet early evening meal. Charging an event fee under those circumstances felt unjustified and left a poor final impression. While Whiskey Row may be a fun destination for live entertainment or a special event, I would not recommend it as a place to enjoy a meal. Between the slow service, excessive noise, lack of cleanliness, unexplained additional fee, and super high prices, the experience simply did not live up to the reputation or the celebrity name attached to it. Very disappointing. I won't be returning.
