The food here is generally great, but recently I had a few disappointing items: -the potato salad is heavy on the mayonnaise flavor, which is overpowering -my side Caesar salad (for which I paid $4.00) was about ten pieces of wilted lettuce - I've had better side salads at Chick Fil A and Boston Market. -their turkey sandwich with cream cheese is too rich/heavy and can leave you feeling gross after eating it I've heard a lot of great things, and I do enjoy some of their other options, just be aware if you plan on ordering these dishes. read more

The Bread is great Fresh and Hot However the third time I had the Meatball hero it wasn't as tasty. Not sure why. Boy do I miss an eggplant parmigiana hero or veal parmigiana hero. read more

These guys are so nice. It's not a fancy place so you're not going for atmosphere, but the food is good (and surprisingly nice presentation) and if you ask for recommendations they're super helpful. There was a really nice lady manning the register the last time I went (when we could still eat inside) and she went out of her way so when I was working that I'd have food and napkins nearby. I'm not a sandwich person - at all. I'm also a vegetarian which usually doesn't bode well for a decent sandwich. I was in Mtn View on an errand and was so hungry. I thought I'd get a mediocre sandwich on the run. Dons Deli is GREAT! 5 different Veggie options and one of the very best sandwiches I've ever had. I had the Classic and it was out of this world. Ordered takeout for the first time by calling in, food was ready in ~20m, sandwiches were delicious and so were their inhouse sauces, they gave us a free red velvet cookie, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. 10/10 will be ordering from them again soon. Highly recommend the Luau Sandwich (and their barbeque teriyaki sauce). I also enjoyed the Southwest Tri-tip. read more

This is a perfect work-day lunch spot. I usually order sandwich and pick it up, it's pretty quick. Sandwich has the right balance of everything I like - meat, pickles, cheese and all other toppings. They also offer half sw which is what I usually get (also good price). read more

My husband and I have made it a tradition to order in sandwiches from here for lunch once a week since the shelter in place has been active. We have not been disappointed by any of the choices but I'm most found of anything with the pesto sauce & my husband is now addicted to the Cubano. Also the onion rings are killer. Sandwiches are great quality at a very reasonable price. This was our first visit and we got a build-your-own basic sandwich and the Tree Hugger veggie, both on Dutch Crunch. Perfect size and fresh veggies. They offer sauces on the side and I tried the sun dried tomato pesto one which was great added to my veggie sandwich. The oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies were so good! The people were super nice too. Between the quality food and nice people, I'm sure I'll be visiting again. read more

Boyfriend has the spicy chicken sandwich and WOW! Very friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and you get your monies worth! Also i believe she was the owner or maybe the owners wife behind the line helping make sandwiches, she was very patient and calm which coaching the other employees on how to make the sandwiches! I didn't order anything but the man ( either the owner or manager) at the register gave me a free cookie so I didn't leave empty handed! Just had the Chipotle chicken sandwich and it is bomb. I highly recommend the fire sauce with it. The heat is Subtle and intensifies as you eat. If you like food with some heat. This sandwich is really good. Just wish the place was a bit more dog friendly. read more

I live close to this joint but have been ordering take out because of SIP of course. Interesting and good so far but a little inconsistent maybe? The first time I ordered I spent a long time perusing their on-line menu. It slowly dawned on me that they had their cold and hot sandwiches mixed together -- there's no easy way to tell hot sandwiches from the cold ones. This is a mistake that I find idiotic and unforgivable. Basically that's the first thing you decide when you walk into a sand. shop, is it not? I tried my best to settle on one that I thought was clearly going to be cold...but when it was delivered it was hot. It was tasty...some kind of beef with cheddar I think..but very little beef and a small sandwich overall. The 2nd time around was a better. Got some sort of classic sub with cold cuts. Nothing too special but better than the first. I didn't get the bread I wanted. Yeah...so ...kind of frustrating. I want to like them because they're so close, and I'm so happy that they supplanted the Subway that was there for years. But I think they really need to look hard at their menu, and making it easier for people to order rather than it being all about cute /clever names. Oh yeah, one more thing: it's nice that they have the hot sides (onion rings) options. I got delivery so I think they were a little soggy. Second time to come. Ordered the Rueben, Falafel Salad and Onion rings. I monitored the order status on yelp and as soon as the status changed to "Ready for pick up," I arrived in a couple of minutes. My order wasn't ready when I arrived but it did seem to be busy. Plus, the cashier advised that they needed to "refresh" the onion rings, which delayed me somewhat. I appreciate that attention to detail (not sure if any other restaurant would do that). I've had the Rueben before but was interested in these "refreshed" onion rings. First impression was they were greasy (the bag was a bit saturated with oil), HOWEVER, they were very good! Not sure what sauce came with the rings but whatever it is, the should immediately patent it! I didn't even touch the sandwich or salad until I completely finished the rings. Tip: have them hold on preparing them until you arrive -- it may delay you but maybe it would allow for some "draining." Excellent overall! read more

Fresh baked rolls, what's not to like? The young people behind the counter were really nice, it was clean. Hubby liked his "classic" on a wheat roll. I had the "giving thanks" on an Asiago roll. They have Miss Vickie's kettle cooked potato chips. And San Pelligrino Clementine sodas. The parking lot has shade and everything tasted fresh. This was fine. Just fine. Dutch crunch bread is a big plus. The chicken pesto was solid-basic and good. The avocado on the other sandwiches was barely there (not worth an extra dollar) and didn't taste like avocado. The deli meats are solid but don't get the chicken-it tastes like nothing.
