Loved how cute this little quaint place is. Kick back and chill with friends or solo for a nice vibe, good fresh food and a coffee. The service was also great. The ONLY downside was that the omelette plate cost $21 and once I added a coffee and a tip, it was over $30, so it's not exactly a budget friendly type of place to go. Went for breakfast a few times here ....its ok but they decided not only to have a Let's Go Brandon sticker on their delivery car but they play Fox on the TV . The ambiance is very clean and cozy, with ample indoor seating as well as outdoor seating to the side of the building. They have their own parking lot so you don't have to find street parking. While it gets busy here on the weekends, we came on a rainy day and were the only people inside for maybe 30 mins. Service was absolutely wonderful, and the menu is robust with ample options for vegetarians. Even the kids menu had delicious choices and not your standard fare, plus there was beautiful plating on the kids menu items too. My only issue is that there is a credit card surcharge that was captured on the receipt. When we paid, we paid in cash instead to avoid the surcharge, but the bill was not adjusted. read more

My wife and I met some friends here to have breakfast. It is the shore so I expect prices to be higher than other locations so I did not think the pricing was out of line. The food was tasty. Since we had breakfast, refilling the coffee cups was one of our highest priorities and our server took good care of us. I mean talk about a cute and beach-y breakfast place. The decor and vibe of this restaurant is perfect for where it is located. Stepping into this place was such a breath of fresh air. It was not super crowded which was a surprise to us and it made for a very positive experience. The staff was attentive and efficient. The waitress was quick to take our order and happy to answer any questions we had. We each got an entree and I was insistent on getting a short stack of pancakes for the table which I did not regret. My friend got one of the avocado toasts and I got the short rib benedict, so I can attest that both of those options are top notch choices! I truly don't think you can go wrong here, I imagine it can be very crowded on the busy summer weekends but its worth the wait. read more

I was worried looking at the other reviews but found them to be untrue. Perhaps it was a seasonal issue but our breakfast was great. Sat down and was immediately greeted by a very nice server. Our food was delivered timely. The whitefish salad bagel was heaping. And delicious. Benedict's looked good, omelets just right. Great service. Still looks like Annette's but updated. Best of luck. I don't understand why the Breakfast Speciality Restaurants think it ok to charge extravagant prices for their simple Breakfasts.. and the Dorset seems to be another that follows this new trend... small order of French toast, breakfast burrito, a coffee and hot tea, with Tip was $35..??? Service was good, food was good... but nothing extraordinary... guessing it's the new "way of the World" but it's easy to understand why the old Daily Breakfast get togethers are becoming extinct... can't keep charging higher prices and expect people to continue to pay it... read more

Went there for a late breakfast today. The server (Elvia?) was friendly, prompt, and responsive, and the food was great (keep in mind it is off season and after the breakfast rush). I had a kippered salmon bagel which came with a nice serving of the salmon and all the fixings, and my friend spoke highly of her avocado toast with an egg on top. We just finished having lunch at The Dorset. I don't write many reviews for restaurants but I felt compelled to this time. I had the Cobb salad. It was so fresh and delicious I really loved it. They're slick here for sure. Paid cash. But the menu said $12 for an egg breakfast. However when the check came they charge $12.42. The $.42 is the 3 1/2% they'd charge if you use a credit card. But we did not. Nor did the check change when we paid with cash. Plus - the eggs are SMALL. One piece of toast. This was our second experience. Shame on us. Hi I am a customer that has been in the Dorset multiple times and know quite a few people who work there and I just have the say the food is good, but the treatment that the owners give their staff is completely out of line and uncalled for. I have heard many things from other people about how they do not feed their staff and have heard many say that they are so hungry while working there. More specifically I have heard the owner Bobby yell and treat the employees not nice at all. I have heard things about Alexa the other owner giving the employees bad treatment. Whoever is running the dorset needs a course on restaurant management. You dont have people waiting outside in 90 degree weather for over 20 minutes because the kitchen is backed up when the restaurant is empty. You stagger people in. The food isnt worth the wait. While the meal was pretty good, the wait was awful. My husband, who is diabetic, got so sick he had to leave before we got our food, which was the one thing he needed to feel better. It was chaotic and not well organized. People who looked like owners were present but not doing anything beyond hugs and handshakes with their friends. Someone who worked in the kitchen was standing around talking to waitresses while we all waited for our food. Never got a coffee refill. Or water. Waited forever for a check and a box. If I could give the dorset negative stars I would. I am local in ventnor and have been to the dorset two times now. My first two experience were not good at all. I went back the second time to give it another shot. I do not recommend going there and would never go back. We were a table for 4 and waited 30 minutes to be seated when they had tables available. I have worked in a the resturant industry for many years so I know works. However after being seated I then waited another 30 minutes for my food to come out cold. My waitress was phenomenal and very attentive and apologetic. She brought out the manager to discuss the situation, waiting for a simple apology she blamed it on the waitress and was nothing but ignorant and rude. After speaking with management our waitress went inside; the dorset is not too big so we could hear what was being said, screaming and cuss words were being said to our waitress. The way they talk to their staff I'm shocked they have employees still working for them. Great staff who work to their best potential, horrible management.
