We wanted to have some pizza before heading back home and this place came up with top reviews. We ordered a 14 inch pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad. The salad was normal but definitely a big shareable portion. The pizza however was Amazing! It was a delicious thin crust, cheesy and the pepperoni was very flavorful and it was perfectly Baked. I travel a lot and always looking for a good local pizza place. I ordered just a regular pepperoni pizza. It was amazing, the crust was nice and crispy, sauce wasn't too sweet just right. The service was great, I was explained the whole menu. Eating alone I don't need much room but it was cozy and pleasant to eat inside. I almost had desert because it looked so good but the 12" pizza was so good that I ate it all and was stuffed. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area again. Found this sweet little pizza shop in the neighborhood. I order to go but walking in I was immediately greeted. I believe it's a husband and wife who were working. Both were incredibly nice and apologized that my food wasn't ready yet. (I came a few minutes early for pickup - so I was in no means upset) There are a few tables in the restaurant if you'd like to dine in as well. My husband and I ordered the Caesar salad and the Chicken Catupiry pizza. The Caesar was very fresh and I believe the croutons were made in house, because they tasted very fresh! The pizza had tomato sauce, mozzarella, shredded rosemary chicken, catupiry cheese and Grana Padano. Now, I lived in Brazil and loved the pizza while living there. This pizza brought me right back to my time of living there. So much flavor and very authentic Brazilian feels. The chicken is season well and the pizza is cooked perfectly. After 3 separate takeout orders over a 90 day period I must respond. All 3 separate orders had problems and there was zero response from ownership on any of them. The pizzas were average at best and most definitely NOT worth the long, long wait time. Service personnel behind the counter are more accustomed to non-English speaking customers and they make sure you know it. This is our go to for pizza, as it's close by and most important because they don't use seed oils. Their pizza are so tasty and fresh! I only wish I could eat them every day! We had never been to Pompano Beach so when we drove past The Doughfellas we figured we needed to try it. But then we noticed a big place right across the street called Anthony's Coal Fired pizza. We went on Yelp and saw both had good reviews. So my friend suggested we get a pie from each place and compare. So that's what we did! It was really kinda fun. Honestly, both were really very good. And we're all from NYC, NJ and Philly- so we know good pizza! If I had to pick, I would say that the pie from Doughfellas was my personal favorite. It was kind of 50/50. What made me choose Doughfellas was the chewy aspect of the crust. It's definitely more of a sourdough type dough. Plus, when we went the staff at Doughfellas were nicer and offered more in terms of hospitality (and both were just takeout orders) If I had to dine in, I would still choose Doughfellas. It's smaller. Quieter. But maybe you like the hustle and bustle in which case you should try Anthony's. Bottom line- both good. But Doughfellas is the better pie. The menu has freshly made pizza, or you can buy frozen as well. They made the pizza pretty quick when I showed up. I got a 14" specialty pie (sausage thing they make). The price was really high for the size of the pie at about $25. The dough itself is outstanding, light, and fluffy 5 stars. The sauce and toppings were not the best, a lot of salt and the pie was just not that good overall. I will not be coming back due to the pizza. read more

She warned us of the potential for some of the sauce to mix since it had two different sauces. We understood and accepted the risk gladly. Pizza came out quickly and nice and hot! The pizza was made so well, both sauces were incredible. Perfect amount of sauce on both sides and the flavor in the crust was so good. No soggy bottom on this pizza! Thin and delicious. He mentioned that the desserts were hand made. That actually made me want to try them out even more. So we bought a panna cotta and a chocolate mousse. FINALLY - an artisan pizza restaurant that doesn't use SEED OILS and is ORGANIC. They only use olive oil imported from Italy. We drove a little over 30 minutes to get here and my goodness, what a treat! My family barely goes out to dinner because of the seed oil "allergies" we have. Pesticides are awful and you should really be careful. Establishment is run by a husband and wife who went to culinary school in Brazil. The flour that is used is double zero organic that has been fermented for over 72 hours. We tried almost every single pizza here and you just can't go wrong. My top 3 favorites: Calabresa, Portuguesa and Pepperoni. Andre, the husband has been to culinary school in Brazil and cooked in restaurants in New York, Miami and elsewhere. The place is located in a nondescript section of federal highway. The location belies the goodness that befalls you went you enter the pizza palace. The flour is double zero organic from Italy. Who does that? He ferments the dough for 72 hours. Who does that? He makes everything himself including sauce and in-house smoked calabresa sausage . Who does that? His olives are oil cured whole olives and terrific. . Never saw those on pizza before. Gem of a place! Calabrese Pizza has lots of sausage and delicious lightly charred edges. Burrata salad is plentiful and delicious.
