While she wasn't the most friendly, you don't come to places like the Drift Inn for the service. She quickly took our order and returned with our drinks. Our food appeared very quickly. I saw this place on Facebook as one of the 10 best places in the State of Wisconsin to have a butter burger. In that context this place would not make my top 10 list but they do have a slightly above average burger, albeit on the small side. The place is somewhat of a dive type place. It is not divey in a scary way and I felt quite comfortable with my family. The burger is definitely on the small side. I noted the butter flavor but was definitely not that much butter being used. The chili had solid flavor but had very few noodles in it. I suppose noodles and chili are a personal preference type thing so that review could go either way. The wait staff was not overly personable and needed to return to the table multiple times before our group of 6 had all of our food. We needed to remind the waitress 3 times exactly how many and what size bowls of chili we ordered. Reasonable prices and the place is not that far from Lambeau Field, so it has that going for it. read more

Get the burger and curds. Trust me. If you like Kroll's and you are just here for a no thrills meal, I highly recommend Drift Inn. Service is good if you're a regular and everything is pretty reasonable. My parents and I go here when I'm in town and my parents seem to be pretty much regulars (waitress always knows their orders). The burger is juicy and unhealthy but you don't feel you've been robbed like you do after leaving Kroll's. For 3 of us, with an adult beverage or two, our bill is usually 30-40 dollars. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Mostly hightop chairs in the bar area which would be awesome but we had our little one so sat in the newer section. The burgers are the traditional green bay butter burger, which I'm not a fan of biting into a slab of butter! After I took that off the flavor was good. I dont like the crunchy bun that most place do, but this was warmed just right. The chili was very good like everyone says but it is greasy. You can see the oil floating, which turned me off. I like all my stuff and prices are great just dont need all the oil and butter. read more

first time here - I'm not sure what to make of the place. The atmosphere is remodeled dive bar - just my kind of place! The dining room and women's bathroom were clean and tidy. The menu is posted on the wall and I think there was a beer menu on the napkin dispenser - I can't be sure because I forgot my reading glasses. The food was good (and prices were too) - mozz sticks, burgers and fries with cold beer - definitely nothing wrong with that on a Friday night!!! One of my kids said it was the best burger in town. We got there at just the right time... plenty of choices for seating, waitress came over right away, drinks and food were quickly brought from the bar/kitchen. The thing was no one ever asked if we wanted more to drink - got the feeling that they wanted our table for the growing waiting list. I understand this but I was ready for another beer after first bite of food. Someone who was not our waitress delivered the food, someone who was not our waitress cleared our mozz stick basket, someone who was not our waitress cleared our burger wrappers. We had to go to the bar to ask for our check and were clearly in the way doing that. I can't ever say that we were made to feel welcome and maybe that is their schtick. If I lived here I would eat here every day! My husband thought it was expensive for the size of the burger ( his opinion doesn't matter). We all ordered cheeseburgers and they were outstanding. I ordered the chili and it brought tears to my eyes because it tasted just like what my dad used to make. So good. The fries were delicious and it was a generous portion. Burgers and chili, that's what they do and they do it well. The food is simple, the service is good and the atmosphere is great, especially if you sit right at the bar. This is a burger place for burger lovers - not always consistent though, which is why they lose a bit in the ratings, but a good burger and chili when you are craving that taste. We have tried to stop at Drift Inn before because we heard it was good. It was always so busy looking we figured it would take forever to get seated/served, so we didn't! Well, I did go there with my son daughter in law and grandson for lunch after a doctor's appt, one day and was quite surprised. We were seated, served some drinks, order taken and got our order in about 10 minutes! We had a waitress who wore a little hat and long skirt who was very friendly(I swear I know her from somewhere) and stopped to check on us often. The burgers and onion rings were great. The people were packed in there, but the crew kept people full with food and drinks. I recommend this place...better than Kroll's! read more

This is my favorite "greasy" burger joint in town. I know everyone raves about Kroll's burgers, but these are less drippy. Fries are always crispy. I've never had the chili (with noodles) but I know my friends are a fan. There are plenty of TVs to watch sports too. Absolutely one of the best chili's in GB. The only other that one I'd put up against it is the "Boss" chili at The Woods. This one isn't nearly as spicy, though. Drift is known for their burgers and chili. The chili is outstanding, but the burgers are as good. They cook on a gril vs. a flat top, and served on a hard roll with a "glop" of butter. If you like Kroll's burgers, you'll like Drift Inn. I actually prefer the burgers at Drift, and there's NO COMPARISON with the chili. Atmosphere is very subjective, but I love the place. It's a little, family-owned place. Lots of regulars. It's not a fancy place by any stretch, but the bartenders definitely make you feel welcome. I was here a long time ago and at the time I was not impressed. This was a completely different experience from that. Started by planting ourselves up at the bar right by the grill. The girl working the bar was prompt and quickly took our drink and food order. Their menu is limited to burgers and sides and it is printed on the napkin holder. I ordered the cheeseburger with fried onions and a small side of chili. My husband ordered the drift burger which has a normal burger and a brat patty. Watching the lady work the grill was like magic. She knows what she is doing and the amount of food she makes that quickly is insane. The chili came first it was typical Green Bay chili served over noodles. I got mine loaded so it had all the fixings with sour cream and onion. It was good I liked it and would order it again. The real star was the burger. The bun is smeared with butter before serving and the rolls are nice and toasted. The patty was not overly large but had good flavor from the grill. If you are looking for a big full meal I would recommend order two burgers or the giant drift like my husband did. They had an okay beer selection to choice from. I always like a good amber ale. I would recommend stopping in if you want a quick burger. read more

Went during the lunch rush, and thought I was in for a long wait, but wasn't the case at all. Inside, it has that "Up North" Bar & Grill feel, which is nice. Menu is very small, but bigger doesn't always mean better. The Brat Burger was really good, but the star, of course, was the Chili! Amazing taste, with a little bite afterwards. It's a very old school diner, cheap food, cheap drinks, diner atmosphere. A car sales man up the road told us to check it out and we were not disappointed. We had a group of 5/6 and the service was quick we ordered a couple of drinks and had the fries, cheese curds, and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. The cheese curds were epic, a definite get. I had the double hamburger with everything on it, which includes: two parties, ketchup, onion, pickle and butter. Decent burger. They grill the buns so they have a crunch to them. I live in soCal and I was in Green Bay for Packers Training Camp (which also gets 5 stars) and I passed by the Drift Inn by chance, while looking for a place to grab something to go on a Thursday evening. The sign said best chili so I had to see!! I got the last available parking space in the lot and headed in. I ordered my bowl of to go chili and headed back to my hotel. It was perfectly spiced, perfectly hot, and had spaghetti in the bottom! Yum! I thought it was a strange custom when the waitress offered it, but I was wrong! How have I made chili all these years without it???? I wonder if Bud and Carol have kids? If not, I am willing to keep their recipe secrets when it is time to pass them down! We came in with a group of 10 on a Friday evening after a family memorial service. We weren't sure if any restaurant could handle a group that size and since we had all traveled from out of state wanted some fried cheese curds. We walked in and were delighted to see hamburgers under $5 and enjoyed great grill food and beer at unbelievable prices. Service was incredibly fast and the friendly owner came out and greeted us. This little off the beaten path bar and grill has the best chili I've ever had, bar none. I've never had a bad meal here. Just a heads up though, if you try to use a prepaid visa or other card without your name on it, they won't accept it. But the food is well worth the hassle. read more
