Went looking for a Saturday brunch spot during a heavy convention weekend. All the breakfast places on the lower and middle part of the strip were packed with lines. Found the Egg Shop, in order to get there without driving, you have to walk across the first major street off of the strip. FYI there's major crosswalks between the blocks to cross over, but it's worth it, I'm a big breakfast guy. We all got Sausage Egg and Cheese sandwiches and flat wraps, with their super green smoothies. The price was solid, especially compared to the hotel restaurants and not having to drive deep into the local areas. The portions were more than enough. I usually take pictures, was in a rush all morning, but the similar Yelp reviews and website photos are accurate. There were still large groups of people in line and eating in the designated area, only took us about 10-15 minutes or so to get our food and drinks as a group still. If you're in a similar situation and can't get breakfast eating out, consider The Egg Shop! I love random "hole in the wall" places like this, usually more my style. read more

This gem is located across the Mandalay making it a great stop for breakfast. Had the Egg Griddle which was SO GOOD. The sweet savory combo is amazing. I absolutely loved this place. The food here is delicious. My hubby and I went about a year ago and ate at the outside tables. However this year I did a grab and go. I will say the staff are not overly friendly but I guess some people just aren't that talkative. If your lucky there will be some cool talkative people wait for their food and you can chat with them. I did the chorizo burrito this time and it's definitely a two meal burrito or a two person burrito. But it is delicious!! My daughter had the breakfast sandwich her way which meant she took everything off but the meat egg and cheese. lol. So know that you can customize your order. She lived it and devoured the whole thing!! I think she's growing. LOL. There are yogurt parfait and smoothies options too so there is something for every eater. Just beware there is only outside seating or you need to grab it and go. I'm rating a 3 not for food quality just for customer service. We came here because we were craving a good egg sandwich, so we decided to try the Egg griddle. It was $15, and it basically came as a pancake, eggs, and bacon in a sandwich. The problem was the pancake, it was really salty instead of sweet, which made the whole thing taste kind of meh. For the price, and time it took for "fresh food" it just wasn't worth it. A random stop the proved yummy. We enjoyed our sandwiches that were made to order, and the seasoned crinkle cut fries. They were delivered out of the food truck in the same parking lot as the stand where we ordered We sat under the awning to keep out of the sun, in the outdoor dining area. Tried this place when we were walking back from the Las Vegas sign one morning, and figured it had good reviews and we should give it a whirl. We ordered the Nutella chocolate chip pancakes and the pancake sandwich (can't recall the name exactly), as well as a chorizo burrito. Everything was well portioned and extremely tasty. After my second culinary journey in the restaurant jungle of Las Vegas, I am absolutely convinced that Brevard County, FL, has pitiful food. It's a race to the bottom on the Space Coast, because if a hole-in-the-wall joint such as this can execute high-quality chow like this, the Big Boy's future is bright. I asked Alan for a Steak and Egg sandwich, one order of his Flour Tower (a short stack of Johnny cakes), and a Strawberry Lemonade Cheesecake. As my meal was being prepared, I relaxed and took in the sights of The Strip. Las Vegas is the best place to people-watch this side of the Mississippi. You can tell the locals from the tourists from the hucksters with a glance. Being daytime, the place wasn't busy, and my order was up in a flash. After the requisite pictures, I enthusiastically got to work because look at those pictures! First up on the discerning Big Boy's palate was the Steak and Egg sandwich. This was gigantic, cooked to perfection and the chimichurri mayo gave it a unique, exotic and excellent flavor. Wow. It was all I could do to move on to the next item. Before I get into how they tasted, take a second and look at that picture of Alan's Flour Tower again. Have you ever seen such a perfect representation of a pancake? I would wager you haven't, and as I am in Las Vegas, I am sure we can find an odds maker for that! Now, back to the task at hand. If a picture is worth 1000 words, you can surmise how delightful those pancakes were. WTF? I would expect pancakes of this caliber in a 5-star hotel on the French Riviera, not in a diner on the Las Vegas Strip. Alan is undoubtedly a man who takes great pride in his offerings to the public and has a genuine love of serving the public. Outstanding, my man! Just when I thought I hit the jackpot, I placed a forkful of the Strawberry Lemonade Cheesecake in my aptly named pie-hole. O. M. G. This would be illegal in Brevard; it's that good. This is our absolute "go to" whenever we're at Mandalay Bay. Both the breakfast sandwiches and the lunchtime sandwiches are absolutely delicious. Smoothies aren't our thing, but we see people ordering them a lot so I'm guessing they're also really good. Definitely worth a visit. read more

It was about a 7 min walk from the Mandalay bay. This definitely had tourist trap prices. We paid about $50 for a burrito and the egg griddle sandwich (which I would compare to McDonalds but just larger) and juice, which was pretty expensive. I would have been ok paying this price, but the food was a bit mediocre to say the least. The place was in between a liquor store and motel. When we arrived there, it seemed like there were more locals and homeless individuals around. This would be a great spot to go to as an alternative to eating at the hotel but the amount of money they charge is pretty much the same as dinning inside the hotel... The service was nice, quick and easy. They also provide outdoor seating but we didn't not stay to eat since we did not feel too comfortable sticking around. I normally don't like eating anywhere near the strip but this was located at the end of the strip and it had its own parking lot. With the exception of it being an outdoor eatery, maybe a little on the pricier side and certain food items prepared in a separate food truck, the food was actually really tasty. When you see this little family-run business, you'll want to support it too! Everything was delicious and fresh, reasonably priced, fair portioned, and made to order. We highly recommend the: *Strawberry shortcake pancakes ($15.50), which are thick and fluffy, comes with whipped cream, powdered sugar, syrup, and a homemade strawberry compote *Tropical paradise smoothie ($9) - tons of fruits blended together into a delicious (pretty healthy) smoothie. This was our favorite flavor, but they offer a variety of other flavors too! Important to note: This is a casual eatery with no true indoor seating. They have a roof with some seating/tables underneath, but you won't find much reprieve from hot weather because it's just a roof with no walls nor air conditioning. I had the egg griddle bc it reminded me of an McGriddle from McDonalds but is definitely better quality than the one from McDonald's. The ordering process is fine although I got confused when a sign said hot food pick up is at the food truck across the parking lot. But my ended up being at the ordering window. Seating is fully outdoor with some long tables and bar seats as well as smaller round tables for smaller groups. Line wasn't too bad at 9:30am on Friday. We got our food within 20 minutes of ordering. I enjoyed the Egg Griddle which is much bigger than you'd expect if you ever eaten the McDonalds version.
